Right! Tanks don't always catch on fire. The devs can do one thing, imagine the crew has been knocked out but no flammable components got hit then the tank would open it's hatches and would emit smoke from the inside but it'll not be on fire and if it does the fire would be from the inside unless the fuel tank was been hit. If the devs did the death animation corresponding to the type of damage it received last, I think it'll be much more realistic. Also the exhaust smoke could be improved, the smoke makes every tank like a steam engine 🚂.

im still not sold on the copy paste smoke effect for bomb drops. You can visually tell that all the bombs have the same smoke sprite..it was less noticeable before, but now it just looks like giant PNGS floating into the sky!
You could only damage it on impact before, they've added damage while sliding. It was very common that people would slide their aircraft on the runway then J out to land quicker, this is no longer a possibility.
For people who want dead tanks to not explode/burn if ammo/fuel wasn't actually hit: this was exactly how it worked a long time ago, you could knock out the crew and the dead tank would just remain there with no visible damage on it, but players kept bitching that it is impossible to tell a knocked out tank from a living one, which is why they made them explode every time
woah everything looks so much better now, and the atmosphere looks like old war thunder with better physically based rendering. I don't know if Dagor 7 uses irradiance map or brute force rendering, if it's the second even the 3080 may suffer a little hehe
good to see the graphics are getting there, but the sound still needs work, tanks on other side of buildings sound like they're next to you, that as well as proper death animations for tanks as mentioned on the top comment
One thing I’m confused about is why Gajin uses black smoke for tanks burning. It’s quite clear from a certain ongoing large scale disagreement that tanks burn white
Gaijin gonna fuck up the belly landing damage so that even if you managed to land safely it's still gonna damage you so hard that it just says "crashed" I'm having a foreshadow here.
These changes look fantastic! But I wonder how much farther Gaijin can push the Dagor Engine considering its age. Wonder if they'll ever consider porting the game to a different engine somewhere in the future
Honestly i didn't like this (beta) ray tracing, its make the game look darker, it hard to see everything when evening battles and blurry... what about your thoughts? other visuals are very great, Gaijin cooked!!!

maybe like 2015 time period if I remember tank deaths were much more realistic. If you didn't hit ammo, the tank would have the marks from getting hit and be dead but not blown up or scorched. Also instead of stopping immediately as if it dropped anchor, tanks used to roll a bit when the engine and or transmission was hit. Last side note, tank compartment fires used to burn out of the hatches not randomly all over the outside of the vehicle. It was removed and made what it is now because people complained that they couldn't tell the difference from a knocked out vehicle and a live one, which is realistic but you know how it goes, so they changed it.

There were sparks while doing belly landing before, not alot and only sparks, and there was damage, some planes u cant even belly land or do boom boom on the runway. Looks alot better now anyhow
They should ad a animation of ur crew getting out of the tank when you for exemple need to repair ur engine so u gotta plane when to repair stuff without arty knocking ur exposed crew out. Things like gun breech should not have to as that are components inside the tank. Or when u die and 1 crew member is still alive to have an animation of him climbing out and running back to spawn

the only thing i want them to add, is the capacity of your tank to drive even without the turret like the trailer in War Thunder, would be so fucking funny (and terrifying) seeing a turretless tank just speeding up to you and going mach fuck in your direction
When you do a really good job at something ppl notices that really quick. I didn't knew about somethings, but i noticed them while playing. Tracers were one of them. The game now seems a bit more saturated, the ilumination looks different and better, tanks textures looks sharper and the new anti-aliasing metods looks great. I can notices those changes even while playing with low to middle settings. If i said something that didn't changed, pls, comment.

This game needs proper volumetric smoke as an option. At the moment everything is 2D and is not effected by the environment or other factors at all.

I think there should be a minimum 30s repair penalty for belly landing (not adding time for repair if it's already 30s+)
I think Gaijin should enhance the damage mini window where the players can see how their tank has been destroyed. One way or another.
