I'll admit that the idea of someone making a Sly game in Dreams sounds good, the engine does have some perks and is good having another game from that series.
Sly Cooper was my childhood and I think and when I looked up if there are gonna be anymore that will continue the story I was disappointed that the there will not be another sly Cooper game. But knowing that there is a sly Cooper in the works even if its fan based I'm very happy that the franchise won't ever die in our hearts.😄💙

I'm planning to get a Sly Cooper tattoo some time this year so this is perfect timing for an announcement of a new Sly Cooper game. I can't wait to have a thieving adventure w/ Copper's son
My only reservation with this just looking at it from the outset (And it looks good btw.) is that it might have Boruto syndrome, where the main characters are just clones of their parents with the same personalities and mindset. The whole sister/brother dynamic is something i'm not a fan of for this reason as it feels like it might just be treading the same path as their parent's dynamic of playful thief and stern cop. I'd be interested in following the kid of sly cooper if it gave us a new perspective on being a thief and a member of the cooper clan, and if he had a new approach to being a thief. A good example of a legacy character done well is Batman Beyond. Terry isn't as serious as Bruce and approaches being batman in a very different way that still feels Batman. It'd be nice if they made the main character approach being a Cooper in a way that is distinct, while still feeling like it fits. This is especially important considering how different many of Sly's ancestors are from him. If they just make him Sly, but younger, i'd much rather just have Sly as the main character again. I assume the main character will get some side kicks. If he does then i'd want a different dynamic to the one we have with murray and Bentley. Overall i'm optimistic. It feels like there's a lot of passion going in to this project which is good to see, and if anything it will keep Sly in the public consciousness for a little longer.
I do agree with your concerns about this but I do know that the dynamic between the siblings won’t be the same as their parents since they are...well siblings, there won’t be that underlining romantic tone that Sly and Carmelita had. Since the creator has replied and stated that we won’t be disappointed with our concerns about a Boruto syndrome for the characters, I’ll be hopeful for the characters ending up unique with the game turning out great ^^ I did notice something...is the son still a newbie to thieving? When he did the ninja spiral jump and landed, he seemed to momentarily flail on his landing spot before correcting himself. Maybe since he isn’t a full raccoon (therefore full Cooper) like Sly, he’ll have more trouble learning Cooper techniques than Sly did? I am wondering...when did they have these kids? Because if Sly is still lost in Egypt in time than Carmelita either got pregnant during the 4th game or they had them before the 4th game began

Indeed the son will be new to thievery, having grown up in a household of cops and never getting to practice much out in the field. And as you mentioned, he isn't 100% raccoon. So yes, he has more difficulty performing acrobatics than the thieves that came before him. You hit the nail on the head. And in this story it is implied that Carmelita became pregnant sometime during the events of Thieves in Time in an off-screen moment of passion 😏, or even directly before Thieves in Time began.

I really hope that the creator will include a very strong theory that make sense about Sly being stuck in Egypt. Mine is : "We all know sly is stuck in egypt and there is no way he can travel in time again, what if he is the Sly Tunkhamen himself (the creator of the thievius raccoonus) and what if sly ancestors in the present are sly's children, sly is in egypt so he can start the cooper bloodline". That for me make sense because sly tunkhamen look similar to sly and they have literally the same canes.

I have absolutely no problem with 'The offspring is the main character' trope. In fact I think that the Sly Cooper series would work better as an anthology. Like in 1 game we're following Sly and the gang next were following his ancestors or descendants and their adventures. Just imagine playing an entire game as the original Cooper gang. And see how Connor and Dr. M had their falling out. Or how Tennessee rose up and maked a name for himself as an outlaw. Or how henriett stole Sinbad's gauntlet and became a pirate Queen. So I'm totally cool with passing the torch to the next generation.
If you didn't know the Sly 4 ending is really the ending of the series... JUST HEAR WHAT I HAVE TO SAY: Sly is Sly Tutankhamen ... he was destined to end up in ancient egypt from the start to be the one to start everything!!! HOLY MOLY! Man I had this same idea for a sequel to Sly too(though it’s more of an alternative to Sly 4 with replacing it as the fourth game). I’m so glad Damsel is making a game for this series since I love it so much and models looks so good it kinda looks official. I hope this project goes smoothly and far enough to see a demo of Damsel’s hard work in action.

Honestly because I wasn't too into how Sanzaru took Sly I'm already into the idea of Fans taking Sly into their hands especially when someone like Damsel can make a model look that nice and made it look comparatively better than Sanzaru's in my opinion
Sometimes games are being made just as a fangame. But you never know! So many people including myself had the Sly Cooper games as their childhood and even their very first game. If this fangame comes out in the future, it will not be "just some spinoff fangame". I have an feeling that it will slowly become an actual and true game and story that will go well with its inspiration. Tho I have to say I do really like that you will be playing as Sly and Carmelita's son. But it would be really cool to be playing as their daughter aswell if it is the fact. But It would be kinda cool if she then had more abilities than her mother (Carmelita). This is just my opinion by the way. I just found shooting and jumping superhigh was not the most special thing she could do when I played as her. It would be interesting if their daughter got some climbing or agility abilities from her father aswell and not being an exact copy of Carmelita. Idk if that is the plan or not but I just got a feeling it would be kinda like that for the daughter if not mixing it up a little. Otherwise this idea and wip is chef's kiss!

Personally I would have been more interested if they stuck with the main character, Sly Cooper. In fact I already have a way it would have worked out since Bentley's trying to find where Sly is, he could get a hunch that Sly's actually his own Egyptian ancestor, Slytunkhamen. As "Sly" is literally the beginning of the name. Pluss in the games they never said he had the last name Cooper, which could be a cover used to hide from Penelope, who is probably still out for revenge. On top of that, since the games thus far all have plot twists, maybe Penelope created Clockwork in an attempt to finish the job that she could not. Using Sly's ancestors to prove to Bentley that working for Sly and his ancestors was a lost cause. To quote Clockwork in "Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus": "Because I wanted to show the world that without your precious book, the Cooper line is nothing"

...Honestly I, like most of the fandom, just say Sly four isn't canon, never happened, and never existed, and call it quits at Sly 3. Sly was always best as a trilogy, not a series. Making another game after 3 was a mistake.
I certainly prey it to be so. Was brainstorming out a possible sly cooper game idea if one where to be released, plenty of ideas with it, such as lining stories of multi able cooper gangs as well to different villains and team ups and play style of different class of thief’s.
