Thank you! This video gave me an idea of where to look for the harness without disassembling the front end of my wife's chevy trax. Turns out the mechanic we took it to forgot to reconnect the harness for the outside air sensor after replacing the radiator. After weeks of the wife going to work with no AC its fixed, thank you again!
I have an issue on Chevrolet Sonic 2014 that I'm currently working on. The main problem is that the AC is not working. I scanned and get a code of B0158 which say High/Open circuit on Ambient temperature sensor. I did first check the continuity of two wires for sensor. One is direct came from negative body ground and the other one goes to Computer box in the engine compartment. When this fail...no negative signal ground will come out from computer to the negative side of the compressor relay. So I changed the sensor...and re-update its status to the computer. And it works... After a few days...it doesn't work again...then I scanned and same fault I got. So I've changed again the sensor and update its status in the computer and it works again. But again it fails...I was wondering why it keep failing...so I test the sensors out of the car and it's working normal...same as the first replacement I done. What I do found out is that...even I changed the sensor and update its status it will work again but the error code doesn't or can't clear out totally to the computer. And that's is why I'm suspecting this it the reason why it keep failing. The question now is this...how to permanently delete the error B0158? I did replaced new sensors. But it didn't goes off. Any idea? I hope you can reply to this post. Thanks in advance.
I'm getting air temperature sensor codes but I believe that my harness wire is severed from Little critters chewing through the wire. What should I do? Should I repair the wires, or get a new harness

Something else is wrong. My car did not have this censor so the car defaulted to Celsius instead of Fahrenheit. However the ac still worked regardless. Now it’s randomly reading -40 fahrenheit and ac which has had issues has stopped working.
My Ac is currently working fine but after pressure wash its shows - 40 and I changed air temperature sensor but still so temperature is showing on screen any suggestions?
Actually, my car was reading temps in celsius. Now it’s reading wrong temps in Fahrenheit. I’m assuming this means the sensor is somewhere in the engine bay but not in the bumper because the number was replaced after a wreck.
I replaced the sensor and I still get the wrong temperature reading and no A/C. Is there something I else i should be doing? I have watched all your videos but I don't know what to do next.

It very could be the ambient air sensor failing. I believe it cuts the compressor off in really cold conditions (or sensor failure).

I have the same problem when it rains, Chevy Sonic 2012.
After seeing this video I was able to fix the same problem in my 2011 Buick lacrosse clx and sensor is located exactly in the bumper driver side!!!

If you replace it and it still reads -39 the unhook your battery for about 15 minutes. Then hook it back up. And it should reset

I drove the car around and the sensor adjusted to the right temperature. Its all fixed.

The wiring harness can sometimes go bad. Especially when it rains water can get in and short it out. I have the same problem
