    It worked thank you. I had the same issue. I have a chevy sonic though. I changed the temperature sensor, but instead of removing the bumper. I just removed a small panel underneath near the bumper, reached in and change the sensor.

    I got a 2015 impala my front end got messed up and sensor was ripped off. I’m missing the 2 wire short harness. If you could tell me which wires connect to on the 8 pin connector on the other end would be awesome. I randomly connected then my dash showed (- - -) instead of -40. A/c worked a little better. But still not cold all the time. If you will look at yours and see what color wires go to the sensor from the 8 pin connector to the 2 pin sensor plug. I’m in the south and it gets 97 with 98% humidity. Meaning it’s nasty hot. Thank you so much.

    check for leaks because of bad condenser. evacuated system and charged. 40 degrees. next day the owner returned blowing hot. compressor not working temp blowing 90. checked charge system was equalized high and low side. remove charge and pressure checked again over night no lose. checked cabin filter. it was filled with dog food from a mouse. clean heater box and fan out as it fell in when removing filter. evacuated and charge system. 40 f. thought i would wash the truck and let the ac run. got back into the truck 90f. temperature on dash said outside was 66 f actually 75. when in to investigate Manuel. it directed me to ambient temp switch in front of the condenser. after starting it again it worked fine cooled 40 f. it was just as intermittent as before. after reading various issues i was experiencing the same. the ambient switch will reset and start over. if dash temp is not the same as actual outside temp. change the ambient sense. I have experienced a similar issue were the inside ambient sensor is contaminated by the use of armour or silicone base cleaning product. throttle body cleaner has cured that in some cases. cigarette smoke is another contaminate.

      You can buy ambient air temperature sensor for Chevy Spark 2017 from your local Chevrolet Dealership. Stop by you local Chevy Dealership, walk in to their Parts Department, and tell them you need that sensor. It might still cost around $10-$15.
      Good Luck!

    After you replaced the sensor, does a temperature read on the radio all the time? I just bought a 2014 Chevy Cruze and noticed it never reads the ambient temperature.. I'm wondering if the sensor is bad.

    • @fixit3879
      @fixit3879  6 років тому

      Hello Zach. So the temperature shows up on the radio display at all time while the car is on or the display is on. It is so for this 2016 Chevy Cruze. I know that some models for 2014 have a smaller Display, so I am not really sure about the 2014 Display. I think you should check couple of other 2014 Cruzes. I don’t have any 2014 Cruz at the moment, so cannot tell for sure, but 2016 definitely has outside weather temperature showing on display all the time. Hope this helps. Good luck!

      @@fixit3879 Thanks for your response! I have an LT package so I have the same size radio (with the backup camera) as you, so, I believe my sensor is bad. I will see if I can find another 2014 Chevy Cruze to troubleshoot. Again, thanks!

      You are welcome Zach! If you need to buy that Ambient Air Temperature then you can check with Chevy Dealership Parts Department. I purchased 2 of them so far for about $10 each($6.50 my cost). Good Luck!

      I am not sure what you are asking here? AC turns off when you turn it off. What is the specific question here?

      @@fixit3879 at some point (around 39 degrees F) my AC button's orange light will not stay on (I have a 2015 Traverse) . I will press the A/C button and the orange power light will flash 6 times and then go off. I just wan to know if this is by design or if I have a problem with my AC. I noticed this when it was 36 degrees and raining and my windows were fogging up...I tried to put the AC on but it kept going off.
      Thank you

      Fernando on my car I had to drive it about 5-10 miles or so. If after about 20 miles of highway driving you still have the issue then it could be something else. I’d tour sensor brand new? And did you drive at highway speed? Is the sensor exposed to air and wind? Good luck! Let me know how it goes!
