Amazing I to remember the 90s like it was yesterday .
I was 11 or 12 I remember when super Nintendo came out and F zero was the best to come out on it .
That an Firefox was a good one and I remember this one epic fantasy game called legend of mana and another one called legend of Gaia.
Another good one that got everyone buzzing that I played was chrono trigger .
      Good memories .
I'm in my 40's now and amazed how far games have gone .
One thing I do miss are arcades .
That was the thing to do back then kick back with friends and meet new ones in the arcade .
I got so upset they got rid of bears, which was a kick ass arcade center.
Would trade real money for bear tokens in order to play the arcades .

I'll be devastated if this concept doesn't return for any future entries, or at least followed up with X 99. It's how I always imagined F-Zero to be, and I'll take this over an offline GC port anyday. Patch in some more maps and add scanline filtering options and it's perfect.

F-Zero and Sim City were 2 of the first games I had on my SNES... got for my 13th birthday in 1992. My first playing Super Mario World was in December 1991 at a friend's birthday party. You took me down memory lane with this one.. I never got the chance to own a Super Nintendo as a kid but I remember quite well the day my older cousin and his mother walked into my Great-Grandmother's his Grandmother's house with the Super Nintendo Box with the 2 Controllers in it and Super Mario World late 1992 early 1993.. His mother also bought Street Fighter 2: World Warriors separately and I remember when my cousin plugged it up, it was like another world I was seeing.. It's that joy that only you can get just from seeing some thing of amazement.. I literally lost all sense of thought forgetting I had to go home but my eyes was so glued to the screen that I couldn't fathom on how Super Mario World looked so futuristic from Super Mario Bros. 3.. It was a beautiful time in gaming growing up as a kid.. I love the hell out of my adult life cause I can buy all the old consoles that I always wanted, the consoles I couldn't afford to get back then typically because I was poor as a kid in Alabama so like any kid in my shoes we made lists and kept them until we became adults on things we wanted as kids and now will be able to try them as adults.. The NES made me a Gamer but the Super Nintendo made me fall in love with gaming.. 👍🏿♥️🔥🔥🔥

When I was almost 12, I got my first console ever, a Game Boy Color, after a lot of crying! 😂 it was around the Pokémon era here in Portugal (April 2000), so Gbc was a big thing at the time for young kids lol...

First memories of F-Zero. I remember I was really bored in a retro game store and I saw a guy play it. He was trying to beat the game with the time he had left before going back to work. I was instantly hooked. The game looked like Mario Kart, but faster, and with a console. Not like Mario Kart DS which was on a handheld. When he beat it, he asked if I was interested in playing and of course, I tried. Sure I didn't do well since I didn't know the controls and what to do but I learned and processed it. I started drawing the characters and my own for F-Zero to better understand the F-Zero fandom.
Eventually by 2022, my friends and family got me my SNES for my birthday and it was the day I decided to get F-Zero from the same retro game store. I purchased it with Street Fighter 2, and Mario World and remembered the time I played it at the same store. I've yet to beat F-Zero but I must complete it sometime.

There are similar things when I was growing up that I would be super excited about and getting a new console was always one that got me excited. :)
I have a love of all consoles old and new because of it.
My viewers say I am a museum of old consoles after they say do you have this console and I start rattling off all the consoles I have and love the ones that have the light up in there eyes.
I remember my most excited freak out was when I got the N64 which was probably around Christmas.
We were not well off and as a kid I always knew that even asking for it I will not be disappointed about not getting it.
But yeah when I unwrapped the N64 I pretty much was flying at my parents giving lots of thanks to them.
And our family was one of the rare ones that kept the boxes for all the games and consoles for those we have boxes for as some were bought used and stuff.
F-Zero is one that we had here as well and I enjoyed the game and I am enjoying the F-Zero 99 that came out recently and wow I was surprised at the muscle memory I had with the game I picked it up and did well did not blow up once playing it since I had played it so much back in the 90s.
Final Fantsy II is a good one too I also had that I played pretty much all the Final Fantasies up to FFX.
I honestly got burned out on em I should try some of the newer ones.
I do go back to the old ones from time to time though.

My brother received an Atari one year and I will never forget playing digdug all Christmas at my Grandmother's idyllic house out in the country. In 1988 we were gifted a sega master system, and new games and systems followed for years after. That gift would provide so many wonderful Christmas memories of gaming with friends and cousins for hours as the adults celebrated upstairs. Those are the memories I cherish always.

I feel like there was a different kind of excitement back then. More of a sense of wonder due to everything not being so connected like it is now. Things just seemed like such a bigger deal. Theres more of an experience around physical media. Going to the store, taking it home, opening it, looking at the manual. Your experience with getting blown up in F-Zero is hilarious because I remember that sound being scary and intense too 😂 Your dads excitement about new game stuff and filming your reaction to new stuff is so awesome. These were good times.

The music when you beat the game when you see your victory lap is some of the best music on the SNES. Actually, the entire sound track is for F Zero! It's in my Top 5 SNES games for sure!

We had a Super Nintendo at launch in 1991, but we never so much as rented or borrowed F-Zero. My brother bought the SNES mini in 2017, and when I finally played F-Zero, my impression of it even then was, “This game is beautiful.” It is a dazzling stunner. I’m a sucker for the hot pink and glowing colors, the hypnotically flickering moire patterns, and of course the music!

Awesome video man. F Zero ushered in something new and Nintendo hit a home run. The game would go on to be featured in few local competitions here in Canada and we made sure we practiced and the game was is on point

I had tears in my eyes. You captured the retro feeling so well. It's crazy you all have this on video. Unfortunately there's no video material of my childhood. I remember my times with the SNES, and how I got it on Christmas as well. Before played Nintendo and Gameboy, SMB3 was one of my favorite games. This was such a cool time. Thank you for that. Greetings from Germany.

And the videos you got of the mall, etc. What a time to grow up, it’s sad that we don’t have malls and cool places like that anymore. Awesome video!

    Greetings from Sweden!
When reading articles on upcoming Super Nintendo I was overhyped on getting a colour palette greater than the 8-Bit.
I said to my dad; "I only wish for this machine, it is a bit expensive but I don´t want anything else for Christmas"
Upon opening this package it was and always will be my most epic Christmas of all.
The 16-Bit era is my favourite and still collect for the system today. The perfect control of Mario, the MODE-7 graphic of F-Zero and Pilotwings,
the awesome tunes of destruction in Super Probotector (Contra in the States), the exploration in A Link To The Past. All of these things made the Super Nintendo a beast.

Total Genesis Fan, who ended up shoveling snow to get a SNES only for SF2 World Warrior. That being said I ended up getting FZERO new for 15 dollars at that point. Over the years I have played a lot of FZERO, and I never expected that. Such a great game. None of the other ones after have compared to that original FZERO.

I have a similar story to your cousin. I remember looking at an FAO Schwarz magazine (strangely I was a subscriber to Nintendo Power since the 4th issue but I don’t remember SNES until that day with the FAO Schwarz magazine) with my neighbor during summer 1991. It had the SNES in it and then he got SNES at the end of summer right before school started again with Super Mario World and Pilot Wings for helping out his parents around the house and yard. I was so happy to get to play it at his house on weekends. I had to wait until until my birthday middle of December but got SNES with Super Mario World and Final Fantasy 2. I then got Super Castlevania 4, F-Zero, Super Ghouls and Ghosts and Actraiser for Christmas but I didn’t even touch any of those games other than Castlevania Christmas morning until I was finished with Final Fantasy 2. It’s just blew me away after playing the first one and first two Dragon Warrior games on NES. I liked Super Castlevania 4 but I beat it Christmas Day and just remember being disappointed that I beat it so fast 😂. When I eventually got to F-Zero I loved it. Between myself, my neighbor and my other neighbor 3 houses down we came away from Christmas 1991 with almost all the games released up to that point was an awesome time.

I'm Gen Z, born in 2003, but F-Zero holds a very special place in my heart. I was first exposed to this game and Pilotwings through the demos in the Smash Bros games. They're both very fun to master and are among my favorite SNES games. F-Zero X and GX are also masterpieces. I'm happy that the OG is getting love with the new F-Zero 99 game but I'd love to see a fully-fledged F-Zero again.
