The Mikoyan Gurevich MiG-29 "Fulcrum" (Микояна и Гуревича #МиГ-29) is a military jet fighter aircraft designed in the Soviet Union. This is the Bulgarian Air Force MiG29 that made a solo flight during the Sofia AirShow on October 10th, 2014.
Maj. Gen. Rumen Radev wins the Bulgaria presidential elections on October 13th 2016 so Maj. Gen. Radev is the new President of Republic of Bulgaria.
Rumen Radev is a Bulgarian Major General of the Reserve. Radev served as Commander of the Bulgarian Air Force.
Rumen Radev won Bulgaria’s 2016 Presidential elections. Radev stood for President at the invitation of the leader of the Bulgarian Socialist Party, Kornelia Ninova and was nominated by an initiative committee.
Rumen Radev was born on 18th of June 1963 in Dimitrovgrad, Bulgaria. In 1982, he graduated from the Mathematics School in Haskovo with a gold medal. He graduated from the Bulgarian Air Force University „Georgi Benkovski“ in 1987 as the top graduate. In 2003, he graduated with honors from Air War College in Maxwell AFB in the United States as a Master of Strategic Studies .
Rumen Radev is a Doctor of Military Sciences in the field of improvement of tactical training of flight crew and simulation of air combat.
Rumen Radev milary career started as a junior pilot in a Fighter Aviation Regiment in Ravnets. From 2005 to 2009, he was commander of the Third Fighter Airbase - Graf Ignatievo. Then for five years he worked as Bulgarian Air Force deputy commander and from 2014 to 2016 he was commander of The Bulgarian Air Force.
Rumen Radev was awarded the sign „For loyal service under the flags“ - III degree, and Honorary sign of the Ministry of Defence „Saint George“ - II degree.
Radev is a pilot first class and has flown over 1,400 hours.
In 2014, together with colleagues, he organized aviation show „This we are!“ and personally performed the „Bell“ and „Cobra“ manoeuvres on a MiG-29.
He resigned from the army because of a conflict with the current Minister of Defense over the guarding of the country’s air space.
General Rumen Radev enters the presidential institution in a tense political situation. He now faces the challenge of showing his aerobatic skills at the highest office in the state.

Agreed. At the end, the President is the Master in Chief of the Army. Who's better for that position? Gen. Radev, who was leading the AF, or Plevneliev ... who can do ... hmm ... no idea ... probably just look slimy ...
As a matter of fact, the President isn't the Prime Minister (who's in charge for the laws etc ... ), I favor having a President that actually has an idea of the military (and obviously he isn't some private ...).

Believe me I've been touring for almost 25 years to see airshows across Europe and I pretty well can state having witnessed countless flying displays by all the Air Forces (every display was great and worth to see it, to me such things is like not having political colors and flags) but rarely by aggressive and skilled pilots like this.

wow inverted with flaps down!!!! at less than 50 ft and under 250 kts. Massive balls on that pilot
That MiG-29 was flown by General Radev, commander of the BGAF. Well over 50 years old in 2014, when that video was taken. I had the pleasure of being about 15 meters tops from the runway when he did the rollover and flew inverted over the runway, full flaps and gear down configuration, maximum afterburner on the pullout. The video can't do it justice, it was magnificent in person and he really did surprise the entire crowd of over 50 000 people. :)

Браво! Хубаво е да ги види човек отново. Служил съм в автотранспорта в с.Равнец, когато влязоха на въоръжение, но като знам, че са на повече от 20 години...., и перспективата да бъдат сменени след още 20 години ми става тъжно....
Това е военна техника ,а не лека кола. 20 години не са нищо. Ф15 и Ф16 ,да не би да са по-нови? Само в САЩ и Русия има на въоръжение нови самолети 5-то поколение и те представляват около 5% от изтребителната им авиация.
Русия разви Миг-29 почти до възможностите на изтребител 5-то поколение. Говоря за МиГ-35 със съвременна авионика ,двигатели с ОВТ ,и фюзелаж от материали поглъщащи лъчите на радарите. 10 броя от МиГ-35 са напълно достатъчни за страна ,като България от към цена ,качество и функционалност.
Напълно те подкрепям, друже...!Жалко, че пустите му и политици са ни оставили на 'автопилот' и в буквалния смисъл на думата ......ужас... А България се слави, кото новатор и първа е използвала самолети за бомбандиране на чужди вражески позиции ...
Нищо не може да замени МиГ-29 със сменена авионика... Нито F-16, нито F-22, нито F-35. Това са смешни самолети, аеродинамичната форма на МиГ-29 няма аналог в света!

You don't need radar to find a MIG-29, you can spot the smoke from 20 miles away. :) But very well flown Mr. President, that was a good show, well done. A very agile fighter for its time, too.
