Amcrest Surveillance Pro Setup in Windows 10

Once Amcrest Surveillance Pro software is installed and configured on Windows 10 does it always need to be running on the computer? Or can it, the software, be closed out on the computer if you are not viewing cameras, changing configuration, etc. ? Thanks

there are 2 options. first, buying the kit and using the included NVR to record everything. for this setup, the win10 Amcrest software just let you view as if you are using your phone to view at home.
the second option is to use the software as a recorder. that means the NVR is recording AND the win10 software is recording as redundancy... if you close the software then it will stop recording as well but off course the NVR is still recording
