As the creator of Mordheim, you have no idea how good it feels that even after all these years the game we made inspires people to do things like this!
@@tuomaspirinen8018 Thank you for making such an amazing game! Me and my friends are still playing it and as I'm typing this I'm making a small diorama to display my mordheim models!
@@tuomaspirinen8018 I mean, now he's gonna have even more energy for doing more stuff. And this guy's videos actually pushed me back into miniature/terrain hobby after 15 year break, so I feel connected somehow :)
Man the night scene was just so epic. I really have no words for the feeling it evoked. If I was playing anything at all with this terrain in a dim room, lit up that way it would be one fantastic gaming session be it AoS,40k or rpgs like pathfinder.
As a long time artist new to the hobby I find it hilarious how even the very best complain about drawing stonework. I love doing it. It is much easier to carve a realistic stone surface drawing on styrofoam then getting realistic results with a 2d image on paper.
Very cool set youve built there. Especially love those 2 houses built together or the little touches like the shields on the big house. That one place with the partially melted bricks you could cover up with a charred skeleton with individual bones embedded straight into the rockwork and some dirrectional charring to tell a small story of a fireball critical hitting some poor fella. Perhaps scatter some of the bones into the building itself. Afterall whatever the spell was it was powerful enough to melt the stones. Or go another way and leave a small piece of warpstone and paint in some dirrectional glow to indicate that its unnatural magical corrosion.
Wow this is simply amazing. Im currently ressurrecting mordheim myself - this was extremely motivational and impressive. Best video on UA-cam right now!
I've been working on my own ruins thanks to you. I'm not sure if it's a good or bad thing lol. But I'm pleased and appreciate the motivation. Been a while since I've made any terrain. It's been fun.
Once again your vision and exceptional skills have blown me away, really impressive that each successive model is more complex than the prior one... Brilliant stuff fella!... can't wait for the next upload 👍
Another fantastic video Eric! The terrain looks amazing, very varied and interesting to look at, but also ties together very nicely, and all shows incredibly craftsmanship! I also enjoyed this style of video because it gives a chance for your personality and humor to show through even better than in voiceover narration. And the detail and accompanying story of the red shield was a great little easter egg! Looking forward to the next video!
Amazing builds Eric! I enjoyed the little movie as well, had to full screen the video when "the sun went down". Great content, looking forward to your next tutorial.
O man the village looks awesome. I really like the short film at the end you should do a little something like that at the end of your future builds. You have inspired me to start scratch building as a hobby. Thank you for all you do.
Brilliant pieces of terrain. I’ve already built 1 from your earlier tutorial which I’m really happy with. I was already planning on making a few more and now I’ve got a great range to follow. Loving your builds and videos.
I'm a huge fan of your crafts. I have never built anything and i dont play anything that involves miniatures but I've probably seen all your videos. fascinating work and your attention to detail is next level.
The walkway is an elevated breezeway, and they were common in larger complexes to move between buildings without descending to ground level. You see them in old monasteries and such sometimes.
Too cool! I've noticed these buildings in the background of some of your videos! It looks really impressive when put all together on the table top with the lighting effects as well! Looking forward to seeing more! P.S.: I also loved the saltiness towards the AOS "Seraphon". I'm in the same boat, brother... Seraphon, huh :( Lizardmen for Life!
Amazing! I really like the esthetic you are able to achieve. Your pieces have both eye catching variation, and a distinctly unifying character. Thanks for sharing!
Wow!!! Just found this channel looking for Frost grave ideas. Your builds are awesome!! I have to have a go at making these not that they'll be anywhere as good as yours, but thank you for the inspiration!!! New u the awesome work
Good stuff Eric. This is the first of your videos I've seen and you get an instant subscription. The riser platform looks ridiculously useful. That's getting made right now, tedium or no!
Top notch, as usual. I'm more of a modern/sci fi/post-apoc terrain builder, but these houses are awesome. I really like your riser and plan on making one for myself. You've inspired me to make some fantasy buildings for my own shelves. Dig the little movie at the end. Thanks for sharing. --Bo
😂 the sort of activity of a serial killer carving all those bricks on the riser. Love the bridge too. The medieval London Bridge across the Thames in London did have buildings along the sides so not altogether unrealistic.
This is exactly the kinda terrian I'm looking for, I'm getting into the game called Elder Scrolls: Call to Arms, wish I had the time to build it like you, AWESOME WORK!!!
"This is the type of thing serial killers do when they have unlimited time in their cells" 🤣🤣🤣💀 Love your vids man, just recently found the channel. Excellent stuff!
Oh man those buildings look awesome!true inspiration for my crafting, congrats for your channel Eric, it’s been true inspiration to me. Would you mind sharing your general measurements for your Mordheim buildings? Like height between each level, etc… thanks!
What I like about your buildings the most is that they are big (more realistic size) So many of the MDF buildings you can purchase are so small no one could really live in them.
Great work! I am totally on the same page when it comes to the aesthetics of Mordheim, you really nailed it. Besides, the Man himself noticed you, so...
One material you did not use, and could cover some unhappy accidents it's cloth elements... Those melted bricks... They are asking for some warpstone! Awesome job, in short... Very inspiring!
I might just do that! If i don’t feel something is different enough from a tutorial i have already done then i wont film it so i do have some other things to show
06:40 Hey, if you slap some cheap fimo clay into that stonework texture and wrap that strip of clay around an oven safe cylinder and bake it, you've got yourself a nice and cheap rolling pin for all of your future stonework, without having to resort to a 'cereal' killer amount of time investment :)

Hahaha bing bing bing
I heard that stones hit by warpfire melts EXACTLY like foam hit by spray paint. Great looking terrain.

These buildings look really good! I like the broken-down/destroyed aesthetic in crafted items so this stuff hits my sweet spot.
Eric, thanks for these tutorials. The one little building answered a lot of questions for me and I'm now pumping out my own designs.

Its pretty cool. I paint and draw a lot so i have some calluses on my middle finger that dont appreciate the extra wear and tear of the carving

loved that clip at the end with the cinematic shots, really awesome

Well done, it has such a nice dark feel to it, and the tea-light flickering inside the buildings really adds to that. brilliant :D

The effort with the individual foam bricks was worth it (as was the staircase). Great work, lots of atmosphere.
Thanks! Gotta do whatever it takes? Amirite?

You deserve more attention, man. Your builds are some of the best builds I've seen around here. Looking forward to the jungle builds, btw!
Turn off the lights and get some popcorn!
Personally I'd love to see more clips of this city being skirmished in
Come skirmish with me then bro
Outstanding work! You did a great job varying the designs to avoid the cookie-cutter look.
