"Just like frosted tips are coming back..." Yep. That earned a sub.
Not only is this one of the best channels for the content, we also get Wheel of Time references thrown in as a bonus. Brilliant
I really like those books. Classics.
May you always find water and shade.
Love the organic way you work, just cutting as you go and making it work.
Living in a house that was built in 1406 from oak beams infilled with wattle and daub I can tell you this model build looks amazing as a representation of a medieavel street scene. I've picked up lots of tips for my own Mordheim buildings. Thanks - Darren
I like the way you gave just enough structure for stability, while leaving it just open enough for playability. Well done! :)
Probably the best terrain tutorial on UA-cam for Warhammer Fantasy. And I have seen a lot of them.
It is so satisfying when a simple dry brush is like a magic wand and everything everything becomes realistic looking
Absolutely outstanding, a pure joy to watch! Love how you used these 'old' techniques and reinterpret them! Chapeau Sir!
Your terrain is the perfect mix of being accessible enough while still having such a great end result, keep it up, dude!
Thats what im going for! Thank you
Why is your videos so much more packed of good contrnt where the others often miss this aspect. Very impressed with the usefulnes or just how much to learn from your vodeos even as experienced model builder!
I love this so hard! I've been playing so much lately to play test a treasure hunt rules set I'm writing. It's the best! Mordheim for LIFE!!!
Sounds cool Adam! You might have to share those treasure hunt rules with me once you are satisfied with em
Great work. Loving all of Eric's Hobby Workshop videos.
This is awesome. Love that you used probably less than 10 different types of material, all of which is pretty readily available. Great reference video for anyone looking to make a medieval-style town board.
This is hands-down your best build video to date by a very long shot.
Not only are the techniques you used incredibly accessible to all levels of hobbyists, but your final product punches WAY above its weight in terms of the cost and effort required to pull it off THIS level of quality.
There are also a number of different directions your audience could take this to truly make the build their own, and fit into their own fantasy world.
I strongly, strongly encourage you to keep going in this direction for your content.
Grimdark is all the hotness right now, and there’s no better way to explore that aesthetic in a fantasy setting than Mordheim.
Said it before, those builds look so close to where up I grow up here in germany :)
Watch out for man-sized rats!!!
@@EricsHobbyWorkshop What man-sized rats? No such thing exists.
Inquisitor! Yeah, this man right here...
This ain't the first time I've watched this... ❤️
Very impressive build! I've watched this video multiple times and it's still one of my favorite UA-cam hobby/crafting video. You capture the Mordheim look perfectly. Great job!
god damn! from the thumbnail I thought it would be a painting tutorial of something made by a company. holy wow, great job and great showcasing of techniques
One of the best builds I have ever seen Eric, really great!
Absolutely FANTAATIC! Great Build! Great tutorial! Thanks for sharing!
Was having withdrawls from the king of terrain's contont. Amazing build, you are a truly skilled dude!
18:26 genius way to make roof shingles
So love your vlogs on terrain, above any others!
Great job on that decayed look! I really like the visual story you tell with the damaged foundations and supports.
@factoria tabletop Haha, I've actually got some ruined modularity coming up in the next few months hopefully, so there's that...
Nice to see you around Factoria, and you are correct, Eric indeed rocks :)
Duuuuuuuude. Nice build man. Btw how far did you make it through The Wheel of Time? I think I got to book 7 or 8 and had to stop lol. First few were so good. But yeah, that’s an amazing build Eric.
Thanks Neil! I got to book four, then I lost my paperback copy and kind of lost steam. I’ve been meaning to pick it back up and give it another go but I’ve been having too much fun reading black library 40k stuff recently
I just started reading the first book. My uncle sent a copy to me as a gift
@@EricsHobbyWorkshop I've been reading the Horus Heresy series for a couple years now. The pace is plodding, but I've still enjoyed it. Eager to move on to 40k proper afterward, too.
Don't do it. I think I got to book ten or eleven and couldn't remember who half the characters were. I read them one after another so it's not like I just forgot due to not having read the books in a while. You would need photographic memory to follow the books all the way. Like you said, it started off brilliantly then gets gradually more complicated and just not worth it. The Gaunts Ghosts and Gotrex and Felix books are brilliant fun.
Forgot to say that build is amazing!!
I have just discovered your videos and am really enjoying watching you create. As a fellow Mordheim resident, you have inspired me to at least attempt to create some genuine scenery instead of upturning random things we find about.
Please consider doing a BloodBowl stadium.
That had to take FOREVER!!!!!! Proud Of you Big Guy!!!!!!! AWESOME JOB!!!!!!! XD
Another great looking and playable build!
Back for like my 200th viewing. One of my fave videos to have playing while I'm doing hobby. Inspired many a Mordheim building of my own.
A great “Nightmerry creation”❤
A wheel of time reference in the first second means it’s gonna be a good video
I especially liked this built featuring a tutor style house. I would like to built my version that is not damaged. I've taken notes on your built and would implement a few of your techniques to create my small mansion. I enjoyed watching your built this house and appreciate all the work. Thank you for sharing.
Laying layer upon layer of individual brick/stone is quite tedious, but understandable since your goal was to create ruined buildings with a detailed interior. As with much of model building, patience is the key, and there is no "Royal Road" to getting the look you want. Excellent work!
Consider a collection of lazy susan turntables in various sizes. They come in handy for rotating a model in progress so you can avoid manhandling it when painting or before the glue has hardened. Also consider a raised cake pedestal for the same purpose. That will help you work in better comfort when you need to see nearer to eye level and can keep your hands steady by resting elbows on the table.
Subtitles: The City of the Damned: WARTHOG.
Jaw-dropping build with incredible texture and detail, love those frosted tips, they work really well for you.
I was not expecting this to look so good.. all the work really payed off, deffo using the rock and shaker hack for future builds that's genius
Thanks maisie! Protip: Dont breathe the dust that comes out when you open the container
Dear Eric, Outstanding Mate!
Great easy build, and inexpensive to boot. Good stuff.
So much detail and ingenuity! I loved the fireplace, chimney and the arch over the door!
Great work. And nice narration for detailed directions
Dude, this is incredibly cool! You are probably my favorite craft channel at this point.
Thanks Matt! I’m just getting started...
@@EricsHobbyWorkshop I know, which is exciting because your builds are damn good!
Dude, your builds are always on point! And you quite literally build your buildings, brick by brick! So great to see you going back to the Old World Stuff! Keep on rocking! Stay frosty #frostedtips :D
This is insanely beautiful! Your work is so inspiring and always make me rush to my hobby desk afterwards. Thanks again!
Wow that's one perfect build. Very very impressed man. That would take. A Frostgrave board to another level. 10/10. If you could do a walk through of the materials you plan to use before the build. That really helps on a vid. But one faultless peice.
You BEAST
Hahah thanks Trent
Great level of detail, good voice over production, and I enjoyed the detailed explanations! I've only recently delved into Frostgrave, and looking for diy terrain I stumbled upon your channel, you've earned a sub from this guy! 👍
Amazing craftsmanship, these are really well designed.
You make those angle cuts look easy.
This is a work of art
Mind blown. Fantastic piece
Yes! I've been waiting for this one for ages! Awesome build, as usual!
Thanks Enrico!
And also the cute little knippers 😊
You have the patience of a saint
Great job. I don't even play tabletop games and I want to build one.
Why not? Be careful it’s addictive!!
Awesome. Looks great. Looks super medieval-urban. Fabulous final product. The lintels need to be wider than the doors and windows though, or else they don't serve the purpose intended ... says pedantic me. But thanks Eric. Inspirational.
Just discovered your channel and subscribed. Your work is outstanding. Looking forward to watching more of your vids
You should make “Frosted Tips” a town in a snowy mountain setting.
I do remember like gum-candies from my childhood that were exact same shape and colour like those bricks. Probably would have to force myself all the time to not try to munch of on one.
Jeez... Thats HARD WORK! Very well done Eric, it looks really amazing
Nice, i always love medieval builds that are brick by brick. great fun factor and looks awesome
Yet again, you amaze us with another epic Mordheim build.
Wow ... Mad skills... Top marks
Love the build Eric. Looks incredible mate.
Thanks man! Glad you liked it
Wow such an awesome build Eric! Really cool, I think one of your best yet!
very impressive build and you made that from absolutely nothing but raw materials.
Creativity is the only ingredient you truly need! I want to show that
@@EricsHobbyWorkshop indeed and you are
Looks so net I stared to watch and could not stop until the end fantasia , your video's just keep getting belter.
This is such a beautiful build!!!!!!!
*_So YT has lately been recommending me videos I have seen, including this one today. Which made me think of: was it you who mentioned the idea of making a burned down town, and burning the balsa beams (outside), then building the rest? Probably not_*
*_I haven't seen many burned down towns on wargaming tables_*
Gave it a thumbs up for the wheel of time shout out!
Brilliant work, as per usual! This is pushing me to get back into action and finish all these partially done buildings I've got hanging around
nice build wheel of time starts picking back up around book 10 sanderson did a good job of finishing it off
That Wyrdstone will be yours!
What a blast watching you work! Great techniques and wonderful ideas that I will be using in my next build.
Thank you and Blessings
That is awesome and making the bricks individually is certainly worth it for the final build =)
Agreed!
Looks so perfect even more than a commercial scale kit...amazing job
Greetings from Chile and my like
👍👍👍😀
Thank you very much! Scratch build has more soul, every time!
Stunning build!
Beautiful video. Fantastic. Thank you.
This is a stupidly nice build! I bet you could vary this and do a whole table with stuff like this!
simply amazing
Thanks Natalia!
Great build man! I got hooked by your Necromunda builds but its great to see stuff like this too. I really appreciate your improvisational building style. One of my personal, and i think many other folks, road blocks is "analysis paralysis". Forcing myself to just START cutting or painting has been one of the biggest boons to my hobby productivity. Of course theres problems that you can create for yourself that way but if you know good techniques, spend the time, and arent afraid to do things over again most things are fixable. Even if it doesn't turn out how you wanted you still have one more piece of terrain than you would have had just sitting there planning it. I think your channel does a great job of showing that with a bit knowledge and technique people can make quite good looking terrain, off the cuff, so long as the effort is put in.
Thanks Isaac. The paralysis can be real! Sometimes I find myself just staring at the piece for minutes at a time, and the answer is almost always just push forward and you can change it if you don't like it. I hardly ever do
Great job! Looks very realistic.
Thank you! Cheers!
hahaha try as much as you want good buddy, you can't make your frosted tips come back hahahaha
Great build :D
Hahaha sorry dude its happening!!!
@@EricsHobbyWorkshop hahaha
Lol. Keep up the good work man.
This is a really fantastic build! I've been avoiding really big buildings like this (space) but I really like your approach, and want to give it a go myself. Nicely done.
Awesome build man. One tip for future video production quality that is cheap and easy is using a white foam core board as a bounce card for getting some light into the deep shadows on your face like around your eyes. This has an effect that works on the human mind that makes people feel like they can better see your sincerity when you’re doing things like saying thanks to viewers or asking for subscriptions and supporting on patreon. Hope that helps bro. Loved your video shouting out lesser known terrain builders! Keep doing what you do bro! Best of luck!!!
That is a pretty Epic building
Very nice looking!!!
Good to see you back with another awesome build :)
Nice. Very nice. I really like how you modify and adjust on the fly, and I love the wooden details. Re. having multi-building terrains, am planning to build something similar myself, think it can give the idea of cramped and winding city streets better than individual buildings can.
You nailed it! Exactly. The bend and the multi-structure gives it a medieval street feel instantly.
Thank you for the inspiration and building technique! Mordheim is the best game ever!
Eric, do you have plans to show us all your entire collection of Mordheim buildings on a Wargaming board at some point in the near future? Thanks!
Weird thought, but this feels like the kind of video that would get Hank Hill into the hobby. Probably after Bobby started making an army and asked his dad to make him some terrain or something.
Really nice build man.
Great job, I'm speechless !
Thank you!
awesome!...with your hot glue strings...if you have a heat gun or hairdryer....use it to melt the little stings away :)
Woow.. just woow... Great job!
Nice build dude
Thank you!
Amazing work
Very inspiring, love some good row houses and Mordsheim is perfect for this style.
I apologize for not subscribing sooner, Very nice construction I love the small bend in the buildings, commentary, subtle music. wonderful. liked subscribed... sorry I don't share.
Haha no need to apologize! Welcome😀
That was very cool to watch and inspiring.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed
Fantastic one!
