Everytime I open a package I have to save it.. lol. I usually end up using it. I have been looking for corrugated paper but cannot find it and I know I can use cardboard but it's difficult to scrape, cut away top layer to get to it. I guess I'll have to get some aluminum sheets from hobby lobby and make some grooves and make my own
You should make a similar shantytown build, but make it a market. Stuff like pawn shops, rouge docs, gun shops street food and bars all stacked on top of each other
Yes!
that would be nice!

Seeing you comment on the other channels I watch makes me unreasonably happy
Sure is!
Chunky terrain gives a completely diff'rent playstyle to all the paper thin walkways amongst open spaces you see a lot of nowadays. Glad to see someone keepin' the ol' bog roll wonders alive!
I'd love to see a table full of terrain like this. Then again, with all the twists and turns, it sounds like a recipe for losing a mini.
Thats how i grow my mini collection! Inviting people over for games with lots of terrain 😂
Based and Beardpilled. Bro the design of this thing is awesome very very cool. One of my favorites from your workshop for sure!
Thats my moving beard lol. Gotta trim it soon. I look like a wet ball of pizza dough that fell on a barbershop floor 😂
@@EricsHobbyWorkshop :D
Looks awesome! I love seeing the Roominate in there. What is tabletop terrain making if not 28mm dollhouse building.
Good point!
This guy gets it!
12:03 "I like stairs all over it like an M.C.Escher drawing". Nailed that aesthetic; one of my favorite builds! Also, even underhive denizens love color! Great build; congrats!
This is so much more in line with what I expect the under hive to look like, not these wide open spaces like the zone mortalis tiles
"What are you a Culvert Expert or something?"
[Looks at Civil Engineering degree on the wall] "No."
Kowloon vibes!
always wanted to build a shanty town, it suits my style down to the ground. Always love your builds and videos!
Do iiiiid
Oh, yes please!! Think of all the rust colors and places/uses for beads!! 😃😁 I'd watch that, it would be awesome!
This right here is Necromunda to me. Thank you for this spectacular piece. I love the caotic nature of buildings and walkways that give this "grown over time" astetic.
I spent the last month building something very similar but got stuck in some weird kind of decision paralysis.
This just really inspired me to finally finsh my build.
Greetings from switzerland, looking forward to more of your projects.
Decision paralysis is too real!!! Just glue it together and rip it apart if you dont like it, thats my policy :)
nice to see someone else from switzerland here in these sections. i live too far away from the big cities and barely have ppl to play with :(
Fantastic work. I've said it before, but it's your sense of artistic proportion and structural balance for an overall piece that really elevate them into the crafting stratosphere.
Thanks! Thats a really nice complement!
New videos from Eric and wyloch in the space of an hour? Damn straight
I'd love to see a video where you put all your necromunda builds together in different ways on a game table to see the versitility of them. Amazing piece as always Eric!
Did he do this yet?
@@richardhenderson7006 I don't think so :(

This could be the real thing for a movie... nice job mate. 🤘
With parkour!
Reminds me of that chase scene in the Total Recall (2012) remake with Colin Farrell. Except theirs was suspended from the ceiling. Wicked cool stunts in that one.
@@earlware4322 I agree, same style..
Nicely done, Eric. You have a brave freeform style of creating shapes that feel right to you on the fly.
Thanks man!! I chickened out of going full sump hulk kn this one but i will go full hog in future builds
@@EricsHobbyWorkshop It feels like it could fit right in on some of the upper clinging habs to heatsinks though. Definitely has them feels that Maggog Wastes sketched out.
I love that you dual purpose hair care products as adhesive. Amazing looking build as always sir! Thank you
Oh, My Emperor (not the false one); that hunk of terrain is amazing. The point about the colourful houses is nice.
Glad you liked it!!
@@EricsHobbyWorkshop Like it? I'd go so far as to say that it is freakin' awesome! :D
This is your best build yet. (Which is saying a lot, as all of them are astonishing,)
I would love to see you expand this town horizontally and vertically.
dude! your builds just keep getting cooler and cooler
Bruh, that is one juicy squeeze. This may be my favorite build of all time. I am continually impressed by your art.
I had to comment after watching this the other day as it's been rolling around in my head. But this build is absolutely sick. I love it so much. The detail the colours the drabness in areas. The weathering and stairs and alleys. This looks amazing..well done! I can't wait to watch the rest of it come together.
This is exactly what I wanted to build. But with no direction. Your design helps out a lot.
Shantytowns are beautiful in a unique way, but hopefully the future will have proper housing for everyone
I can't believe you made this video while you were moving- AMAZING and such dedication to the craft!
❤️
Awesome build mate. Nailed the shanty town look. Thanks.
Don't worry about the bright colours. Some of the slums around where I live have brightly coloured houses, so it's not out of place. Great build, Eric!
Man, this is one of your best builds!!!!
So I just had to comment again. You, more than anyone else, have inspired me to finally get going with building my dream terrain. I've been savind up junk for 15 years easily, so I have plenty. I just never had enough guts. Until now. Thanks for that!
Great, send me a photo when you have made something!
@@EricsHobbyWorkshop Will do. You made me realise why I couldn't get anything done. I had so much stuff but was constantly trying to cut corners, making my scenery look like cobbled together trash. Now though, it's starting to look like actual scenery. Thanks again!
@@EricsHobbyWorkshop Yeah, so now 7 months later and I am back at it... Took a long hiatus but now I am finally doing it! I will send pics when I am done! :)
You definitely have captured the essence of Necromunda with this creation, Vertical (!!!), slap-together-scrappy, gritty and grimey.
"The juice" is definitely "worth the squeeze"!! Love that!!
Cheers!
this is so dope. i think some small graffiti tags with a marker scattered along a few buildings would also fit the gang aesthetic.
I built my own underhive kill team board last month and I can confirm about the gorilla glue caulk. Its so dope. Also thank you for the inspiration. I wouldnt had even thought about building any game terrain but your Fortress Monastery video and Tau station video really opened up my imagination on what to look for at dollar stores and the result is a rusty disgusting and awesome game board. Thanks Eric!
I wish I was creative, man. This is inspiring
This is what I like to see pop up in my feed just after I get home!
30 seconds in and you arlead got yourself a like from me. 100% im gunna try and copy this!
I love the description of the design process, and the reference images and sketches. Thanks!
Its funny, that ive been looking for a build like this for the past week, not finding anything. Me and my girlfriend wanted to start necromunda soon, but we wanted some good terrain. This Video came at the perfect time! I really love your style! Keep up the good work :)
Brilliant work!! Imprewsive build. Composition, doors, windows, water effects and weathering all blew me away. Top notch all the way.
Thanks björn!!
Love the use of varying colors on the buildings. Really sells the idea that this is a town built out of scrap metal over time by a variety of residents rather than this super uniform rust city.
Those colors looks so AWESOME! my favorite project so far!
Really love the vibe! I'm from Rio de Janeiro and I can confirm that you got the right feeling from favelas into 40k, Necromunda. CheerS!
That's bloody GORGEOUS Eric! You've really pushed it hard this time!
Thanks, now ‘push it’ by salt n pepa is stuck in my head
Yo this is SO GOOD. I don't think I've ever seen terrain that depicts the underhive so well. All the little spaces really look like someone has settled in there.
Thanks Eric!! I requested this a month back and you actually did it. Thanks so much 😄👍
Not sure how you knew I have stuff printing on the 3D printer to build this very thing and then beat me to a video, but I applaud your awesome build and now have to figure out what the heck I'm going to do next. >__>
My little birds do hear certain things... *laughs in Blackfyre*
Eric needs more Patrons. He's eating Kraft dinners.
"I did do a sketch to plan it out, but...:
Said every engineer ever.
Dude, I am so stoked with how this turned out. I literally love everything about it. Great great job.
absolutely rad. the really grunge, compact underhive and industrial terrain you do is my favourite, I'm glad you've done so much of it.
That culvert is screaming out for a single Genestealer, gone un-noticed by the hive inhabitant as they fight amongst them selves over scraps.
Another beautiful build! I really love your low budget approach when it comes to materials. Very inspiring, Thanks and keep 'em coming!
A great looking project. Another source for corrugated metal is the insulating rings you use to hold your hot Starbucks coffee cups.
I got some corrugated paper not too long ago, so I've been meaning to build some shanty town style terrain. This video was quite helpful in that regard. I especially like the bold use of colors. Even in the grim darkness of the far future, people love color.
The aesthetic of this reminds me of like if cyberpunk and borderlands had a love child 💜 very cool
that waterfall sticking to itself is the definition of a happy little accident!
I am not a wargamer, but Man, did you show me some great techniques! Many thanks and much respect.
That intro was toyght. Great job man. Your videos are a joy to watch
Thanks! I had fun with that bit
You're like the Bob Ross of terrain builds. Love this video and the channel!
I really want to try one of these shanty towers. Reminds me of all the cardboard ones I keep seeing on Pintrest. Great build man!
Thank you! 😊 Go for it, its a lot of fun! I want to make a whole district of em, because the more the merrier
DUDE! This Build is AWESOMELY AMAZING! Had to save it too! I love going back on your builds, You Have way of Inspiring People, ME FOR SURE!! THANKS GREAT JOB!!! EPIC! !!!!
Great job. Lots of useful techniques on display.
Eric: Are you a culvert expert?
Me: wWell I've watched enough Post10 videos to be pretty well versed if I'm honest
Great build Eric, it really captures that compressed and claustrophobic vibe that Necromunda is known for!
AWESOME, Eric, my imagination is kinda squirming. That thing draws me in more than any 'booknook' build and I get a Corbin Dallas lifestyle vibe...
For sure! Glad you are inspired!
Awesome design! Again!
I miss only one thing: some gang tags or poster could make that big concrete surface a bit more interesting.
Wow, this is one wicked awesome piece of terrain! At first it didn't look all that tall, only a foot you said, but by the time you were done it would dominates any table. I don't play any tabletop games and yet this makes me want to build one of my own! 😲 Now that is some serious skills! It only needs some graffiti/gang tags and it would be utter perfection.
Great stuff, thanks for sharing, and keep on keeping on!!
Incredibly badass and I want to build one myself!
I love the aesthetic of this build. Reminds me of some of Simon Stålenhag's paintings.
Great, I really like this job, all those stairs, doors, on multiple levels, it just gives me the sense of a 3D labyrinth, it reminds me of Fast & Furious 5 scenes in Brazil.
Eldar, T'au & now Underhive! You've been absolutely knocking it out the park recently with these builds! Would be great to see your vision on more of these kind of pieces as I haven't seen too many other people do much 40k terrain other than Human & Ork. Very cool, thank you & can't wait to see what you build next!
Great work Eric. This is my favourite Necromunda build I've seen you do. You captured the look I have in mind at least!
Best project yet in my opinion
I think this might be my favorite build of yours. I particularly like the "verticality" of the build. It really sells the "hive" aspect of the piece.
I may need to replicate this, but orkified for my planned "mek town" table, inspired by the descriptions in the old GorkaMorka game.
Awesome piece, and great work as usual.
Now that is the kind of video that pulls me out of a creative slump!
I imagine a few of these with bridges and gangways connecting them. Maybe one of those small smoke machines Tabletop Witchcraft uses to have vents and chimneys billowing out from the small homes and shanties as well!
Fuck, better grab some supplies and start crafting! This This one's going to be epic!
Nice feeling hearing my name! Super nice build again!
Thanks again! Glad you enjoyed it Hannes
This looks absolutely stunning man! Was looking to build something like this and here you go posting it... thank you :)
Love your work, and this one is especially good!
I've seen many people make effort to cover up the spiral, but if it's a big metal pipe.. that's how they make them. A long piece of metal at a diagonal in a big helix, welded together along its edge, that makes the spiral pattern.
The granny grating, once you trimmed it down reminds me of the plastic 'baskets' that you used to get strawberries in at the grocery store . . . Other than the waterfall, everything you demonstrated is essentially modular and could be broken down and reconfigured for different games (and storage if height is an issue)
hey eric i do alot of moulding and casting (professional modelmaker in the uk), when you pour your resins pour from higher, the thiner strings as it pours will stretch out the bubbles man!
Gotta be the best waterfall ever
12:44 Luxury Slum? 🤔
I'm almost done with this Stanty Town build myself. It was a lot of fun to make ALL EXCEPT for the STAIRS!!! They were awful. I'll keep looking for a DIY to make the stairs. Tried the junk stores and online. No steps. Thanks for the AWSOME build Eric.
Hi Wendy, my video about making 40k terrain from cardboard has a method for making stairs from scratch, and a different method with foam is shown in my minas tirith video! Hope that helps
@@EricsHobbyWorkshop that’s awesome Eric! I will be sure to find those videos!
I love these scratchbuilt hive cities. You've got great ideas man and it's inspiring me to make my own little corner of the underhive. You should do a video tour of all your necromunda builds together on one board :D
Great work on the colors! love the height and playability
Really gives me some Diamond City vibes. Way cool man.
The little touches of supports and girders really makes the structure look lived in. Pipes too.
this makes me want to do/build a/the necromunda
You’d be a natural!! I have learned lots from your channel that i have applied to the underhive aesthetic. Do it!!!
Coffee grinder? Where I’m from we call that a bud buster. 😝
My wife doesn’t let me buy tabletop but I find catharsis in these videos. Great work.
Your builds are awesome. Really amazing. Would LOVE to see a video where you use them in a game. Maybe a second chanel where that happens?🤔
Beautifull piece.
Love all the details here!
All of the details really take this build to the next level well done!.
Part of the reason why you see bright pink in Brazilian shantytowns is because they're madeirite, a brand name for laminated resin-treated wood panels that are widely used in construction for temporary structures. It's very easy to build with the stuff -- it comes in big boards so you literally just prop it up and you have a wall -- and it's cheaply available from refuse, so it's pretty common to see in the favelas.
This is perfect, exactly what I'm trying to build for my own Necromunda board.
Man, your Necromunda type builds are insanely good.
Awesome build thank you for the information and inspiration
Awesome work! Going have to build one of these of my own someday.
i really love that point you made about how favela slums still have painted houses. Even in the most impoverished and suffering human communities, people still paint their houses in pretty colors. They still make porches to sit on, and flowers to put on the railings. (in plastic food tubs instead of flowerpots, but still.) In places where the luckiest make pennies a day, their homes still have books and children's toys and tv sets. In neighborhoods where cartel violence is a fact of everyday life, children dig lines into patches of dirt and play soccer. These people have singalongs and debates and dancing competitions. Even in the most depressing and hopeless of conditions, people are still people, filled with life and laughter and love.
I think it's something that a lot of Warhammer media sadly lacks. The human side of humanity.
