Honestly… I know that cold corn will drop the temp of the water. That’s an original method of course! This was simply to showcase a different method with a great product I wanted to use. Just because I didn’t drop the corn in to do it, doesn’t mean I don’t know that nor that this is my first time doing a boil as soon as I wanted to shoot a video. Have you ever cooked something and forgot to add something that you wanted but had to do it later but it didn’t affect the cook critically? I do understand that because this a video on how one method of many is shown, some people may get lost . Thanks for the tip though!
Haha!! Lol I see your humor! Shoot I wouldn’t doubt that some do those! I got the Turkey neck idea from a local Louisiana crawfish restaurant in town so it’s not uncommon.
It a claw not a leg. Would love to work with you. Born and raised in BALTIMORE. Get you some J O seasoning. It's perfect for crabs and use old bay for shrimp
Smoked cause of the Smokey crab flavor and loads of butter sauce!! . If you want the Cajun juices, then boiled . The crab fills up with the spicy juice
Never mind what the crabs look like, are they full and heavy with meat, crabs are bad about quickly losing their weight and being nearly hallow after being caught, best to pre- steam or boil, then freeze leftovers
Thanks for your input and watching but I don’t have to show you every step I’m doing. Some things are just common sense like cleaning the cutting board after you cut up the fresh crab. As you can see back in the video, the juices from the previous cut up crab are gone before I put the pan down on the cutting board and the cooked crab. Trust, everything gets cleaned between cuts in which I don’t exactly need to waste time and show on video. Thanks for watching
the crabs should be moving around. they aren’t on ice so they should be active. just be careful eating dead crabs as they will have an odd smell, like ammonia. i have had many over my 58 years that i knew were dead long before they cooked them.
They were on ice and that’s the reason they weren’t moving as a matter of fact , not directly on ice but on top of it and a wet towel to keep moisture and cool. And also there was no odd smell. Trust me I would not of served it or ate it. This is not my first time eating and preparing crabs . They get active after warm sure hits them after a little while. I apologize for not showing the second by second breakdown of when they came out the ocean, straight to the cooker. I will try and do that next time .
@@TOOTHPIKSBBQ its ok, i didnt mean to upset you at all, i just was commenting as i was watching. i did see that later you said they were on ice, but at the store, they appeared not moving, but i guess i didnt notice they were on ice. it all looked delicious.
@@gailsfoodandstuff no harm done. I actually got these from a supplier that goes down to gulf on the weekends and brings them back fresh. Best way to eat them in my opinion .
@@TOOTHPIKSBBQ great info, thx! your video simply popped up on the side and it had me at “crabs” so i had to click on it so i was not familiar with you and now i know taht you know crabs and other seafood. :-)
Those crabs are not even moving when put in hot boul. They are dead. You said "look these crabs are alive" then picked up live crayfish, followed by dead crab that didn't even move, nor did the rest when added to hot water. Them roasted still had blue claws. I'm a Maryland crabber and cooker. Stop play😢
They were on ice so they were lethargic! I just picked them up from a local vendor from the gulf that morning so they were not dead. And not covered in ice. On top with air circulation. Cold will make them not move. My gosh lol
You’re a Maryland crabber and cooler all of sudden on social media and we are supposed to say wow, you are right by watching a video . A how to a that . But you cook and are a pro and trolling lol I love it! Thanks for the view !!
What a beautiful seafood celebration
Omg looks fabulous!! Show us more of the eating & lovin part!

Just drop in some frozen corn. It will drop temp down better. Work smarter not harder couzan. Certified Swamp I am!

You rocked that yo right on from 314
Thank you for the love
To kill, take an ice pick and stick it in at the tip of the apron move it around and the crab dies instantly. Advice from the Chesapeake Bay.
Yes correct I was just going to say that too
The whole Chesapeake Bay!! Lol jk thanks for the tip man!!
Why not just have them cold enough
@Jimmy-jc6zy never heard of that . He has ice put them on ice and they will either die or get cold whwew the cant move
I only watched to the end to see if he could eat that

I wish I could smell it!
It had a great aroma!!
Where can i buy all those spices you used in this recipe?
Can you buy seasoning in the Texas area
Looks great eating
Thank you 😋
I find the easiest way to get rid of the tomale & guts, (even the lungs) to rinse off w strong pressure water or hose….
I agree
I'm jealous
Please don’t me lol
That's a jucy looking boiled crab.
Thank you

I’m using a 100 quart stainless pot I purchased from my local sporting goods store
Bro..when tall inviting me to the cookout.. what's good?
Soon !!!
Looks ridiculous good
Thank you I appreciate that
Which one tastes best
Smoked cause of the Smokey crab flavor and loads of butter sauce!! . If you want the Cajun juices, then boiled . The crab fills up with the spicy juice
looks killer good
Thank you
I cannot find that arts seasoning anywhere help
I get it from my local supplier of seafood. I have only found it through them. Gulf Runner Seafood here in North Texas . They get it from Louisiana
You can just use Zatarains crab boil....same stuff and it's everywhere
Never mind what the crabs look like, are they full and heavy with meat, crabs are bad about quickly losing their weight and being nearly hallow after being caught, best to pre- steam or boil, then freeze leftovers
Thanks
That's one beautiful fat crab. The mustard (hepatopancreas) actually serves as the crab's liver. It's not fat.
That's so many bay leaves
Haha
Can you smoke the whole crab
I believe you can
Where's the corn?
lol forgot to add it!! Rookie move but I did add it to the boil off camera and let them soak
I've seen bigger crabs on my toilet seat.
You should get that checked out !! Lol
Need a clean cutting board to prep the other food. Don't use the same one where you cleaned the crab. Do look delicious
