Ms Amy , I am a new subscriber. When I saw you making your Mamaws cobbler It brought so many memories of my Mamaw trying to teach me how to make hers. I can hear her saying " it's SO EASY " One cup of sugar, one cup of butter; one cup of milk pinch of salt " I tried but it wasent as good as hers. I told her she'll have to be the one to make it for us. She wanted me to know so hard she said it over and over. She has gone to our Heavenly father now. I can still hear her voice every time I try to make it. Now with your help, I think I'll try again. God bless you and your sweet husband.

This is so similar to my Granny Mimi’s recipe. We always double the batter because it’s our favorite. And we put salted butter on top because the salt and sweet is tasty together. Now I add cinnamon and vanilla in my batter. And add some turbinado sugar on top. Girl we call it peach gobbler and have been known to just have it for supper. I love a little half and half poured in mine while it is warm. 😋

My Mother grew up in VA and she always made " crazy crust pie in an cast iron fry pan. She also melted the butter in high heat . Often we didn't have fruit available , preferred peaches, but she who use any canned or fresh fruit she had. We even had fruit cocktail as the filling. She would lower the heat and cook in an old gas oven for 45+ minutes until golden brown and bubbly. I have her recipe, and fix this often for Church and family meals. I am going to try yours too!!! Blessings 🙏

Hi Amy. My husband and I came across your channel and enjoy your southern style. The one we watched was Carmel Apple Crisp. In it you talked about your Momma having bleeding issues and being in the hospital.. I myself had similar problems in 2021. After a total of 8 to 10 unit of blood through the year, I was given a colonoscopy and the doctor found a 15cm tumor in my colon. It was malignant.. I know prices continue to increase, but gee whiz. Then again, remember when AP or SR flour was hardly available?! I didn't like any substitutes.
I rely on canned peaches a lot, and to a lesser extent canned pineapple. It can be a real gamble if the fruit isn't sweet enough.
I made the same pineapple cake twice this month, and the second time was a disappointment. I should have tasted the fruit before baking, Amy! Lesson learned!

@@mlistander you csn just use one of those big 28 punch cans. Or 2 - 15 ounce cans. I used extra for my sister's birthday anyway.

This is my Grandmother's recipe. She was poor and still was able to comfort us with her recipes. Simple flavors and lots and lots of love. 😊💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Now I add cinnamon and some orange zest as well. Nutmeg too. But this is her recipe. I hope you have a blessed day😊🙏✝️💜
