Bryce Dallas Howard voicing Yaddle does a convincing job of sounding like an elderly Jedi in this episode. The whole connection to the Phantom Menace is so good. These episodes really felt like extended scenes that we never got to see in Phantom Menace in some way. Also like you said the music sounds so ominous and it's just amazing to hear it playing in the background.
Who voices Palpatine in this? I want to say it’s Ian Mcdirmid but with him I’ve noticed with him he sounds like sequel Palpatine instead of prequel palpatine.
Definitely my favourite episode of tales of jedi. Dooku's downfall is pretty tragic and Yaddle's death was sad too. Hopefully they'll get more episodes of different jedis.
Yes! For the longest time I’ve always wanted like a clone wars show but like either before episode 1 or before episode 2. So we can see obiwans training or Anakins training. (Because for being main characters we don’t actually get to see their training really). But hopefully this show can fill that scratch. I’m hoping for a maul backstory episode. An obi wan one or two where he meets satine. Anakins training right after qui gons death. And the finale of season 2 can be a two part plagues “arc” where we get to see Sidious kill his master.
This gave me practically the same feeling I have with Anakin. You know what the outcome will be, but you keep hoping that Dooku might change his ways in the last second. Alas, he doesn't, and Palpatine gains another pawn to move around the board.
The irony in the situation with dooku being persuaded due to the fact that the jedi serve a corrupt senate, when in reality one of the corrupting factors of the senate is the other person hes switched sides to
Love how much Dooku we're getting. You can really see his slow turn, the emotions churning in him, that desire to bring order that was no longer in his control.
Bryce Dallas Howard was amazing as Yaddle. I always wondered what happened to her after Episode 1 and sadly now we know. Also I hope that if Bryce was there when Ian McDiarmid and Liam Neeson recorded their line she took pictures.
This episode really mirrors back to Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith with Dooku fighting Yaddle (Yoda in the episode II, but also has parallels to the battle between Mace Windu and Sidious in Revenge of the Sith in some way) while the whole seduction by the Darkseid of the Force with Dooku becoming Sidous' apprentice (Like Anakin Skywalker as he becomes Sidious' apprentice after Mace Windu's death).
Dudes and dudettes, these are SO GODDAMN GOOD!! The animation, the voice acting, the music, the story telling, like for real. Star Wars is beginning to really take off. I hope this quality of content continues.
This episode does such a good job at giving off the feel and scared that yaddle must have felt. Being that she just found out so much about the sith and looked back at her ship she wanted to go and get help but realized it was too late. Its also sad to know she stepped down from the council and because of that her death was probably never known or discovered 😢
While I was very saddened to see Yaddle's death, I also enjoyed seeing her and Dooku fight each other. You can see Dooku didn't wanna do it at first but had to.
The sad and dark soundtrack in this episode is AMAZING, reminds me of the finale of clone wars and a little bit of the dark soundtrack of Daenerys. It perfectly makes you understand were Dooku is coming from
I like that Kevin Kiner and his sons have created a consistent musical identity for the Prequel era at large between this episode and the last 2 episodes of The Clone Wars; these Blade Runner-esque, atmospheric, depressing, suspenseful pieces that highlight the tragic inevitability of the fates of these characters.
The parallels between Dooku and Anakin here; incredible. And can we talk about the fact they got Ian??? I was blown away when I realized it was actually him.
I was looking fwd to Ashoka's episodes the most when the series was announced-- and I did enjoy them. But man, I did not expect to be so invested in Dooku's story & to sympathized w/ him! They were my favorite episodes and wish there had been more --but the bit we got was wonderful.
I really love the symbolism in this episode. When Dooku und Yaddle met in the temple she left to the light and he into the shadows. It's similar in the hangar, where Sidious stands in the shadow and Yaddle in the light. Also, if you pay attention, you can see Sidious' eyes change from blue to vibrant yellow over the time of the conversation and duell.
IDK if we have ever had a description (other than using a saber for something against the will of the force) or seen a cannon example of bleeding a crystal but it would have been cool to see red creeping into Dooku's saber.
The music in the Dooku episodes is so extremely loud and I absolutely love it. They convey the emotions/moods Dooku goes through and it just drones into you, further adding onto the dark tone. I haven't watched the last 2 episodes yet so I'm not sure it is true for those episodes as well.
Episode 4 was amazing! I think it is my favourite episode out of the TotJ. 💙♥ They show Dooku's story superbly and movingly in such short time, with all the connections to the Prequels. R.I.P. Qui Gon Jinn and Yaddle. 🕯 I love Tales of the Jedi! 🧡🖤
Did you notice that when Dooku is deleting the information on Kamino, the computer noises are from the film "Alien" - which Filoni is a fan? I thought it was a weak and rushed death for Yaddle, given how it was reconning her end.
This was definitely my favorite episode! And it’s crazy to think that Palpatine loses Maul and in the same day not only gets Dooku as his apprentice but when he goes to Naboo for Qui-Gon’s funeral, meets young Anakin and plans to recruit him as his apprentice in the future.
What this episode left me thinking was as the only 2 of their species known currently Yaddle speaks normally while Yoda does not I had thought that the way yoda speaks was just how his species spoke but yaddle has disproved that so now I’m curious
@@oskar4661 interesting theory because Yoda is almost double yaddles age yoda dies at 900 yaddle dies at 477 so it’s possible but I looked it up for a bit and so far there’s loads of theories but there’s no official or canonical explanation so far Also love the Siege Tales picture
@@DrWatson4 it’s something we will probably never know. Disney isn’t really allowed to tread into Yodas backstory species itself, part of the contract terms when Lucas gave the rights to them or something.
These short stories remind me of Louis LaMour’s short western stories as well. The action and heart of the story gets to you so quickly, and yet you find it just as compelling as a full length story. Totally develops characters you already know as well, which makes it so powerful for Dooku, who you never fully understood in the prequels.
I love how this answers so many questions from the prequel trilogy. What happened to Yaddle, check. How and why did Qui-Gonn go corrupt, check. Where did Qui-Gonn get his rebel personality, check. Was Dooku working with Palpatine when Maul was still his apprectice, wowza. So cool. This proves that Dave Filoni should be the Star Wars lead Creative director.
Dooku has: -Taken the name Darth Tyrannus -Either ordered the clones or manipulated Sifo into doing so -Recruited Jango as the clone template -Subsequently set Sifo up to be killed by the Pyke’s -Deleted Kamino from the Jedi archives -Killed Yaddle for discovering him meeting with Sidious ...all *before* leaving the order. According to the Plagueis novel, Dooku had been acquainted with Palpatine since he had been Senator from Naboo. It was one of Plagueis' priorities to gain Dooku as an ally, as Plagueis believed Dooku was the greatest threat to the Sith, not only due to his reforming ideology, but also because he felt Dooku was the superior duelist to Sidious (at the time) and Plagueis' equal in Force power and swordsmanship. Indeed, Plagueis had thought of replacing Sidious with Dooku for a time because Sidious for a few years had grown a little too haughty for his tastes. Definite contact, in terms of the Sith revealing themselves, had occurred in the period from the time Dooku left the order around 42 BBY.

Maybe even potentially Yaddle was interested in him in a way she shouldnt be....so much potential Edit: Yaddle was a much younger version of Yoda's species. She couldn't compete. Its a tragedy because she could have done so much more
I especially liked how it seems that Yaddle basically loses hope and lets herself die the moment she realizes the Sith Lord is actually Palpatine. Her world came crashing down.
Your reaction to yaddle was exactly like mine lol this was a great episode love that it’s set during phantom!!! Poor Master Yaddle RIP. Love this team up guys great reaction x
Tales of the jedi has literally pulled the heart strings of my inner child. It feels like I'm watching starwars for the first time when i was 5 again. Hello there

This episode was so great, Yaddle was awesome
That fade out on Palpatine's face at the end is one of the BEST shots ever filmed or animated! I get chills EVERY time I watch it.
They should make a YADDLE spinoff. So far Star Wars has focused on her death and disappearance but they haven’t focused much on her life.
I'm hoping to see tales that cover more off-screen deaths like Assajj Ventress
Now we know that Yaddle fights using Form III/Soresu. Same as Obi-Wan. I like that it distincts her from Yoda not just in cadence
