Mr Lewis is George Baker. Best known for playing Inspector Wexford in 'The Ruth Rendell Mysteries'. His honour in this was he was the first to become a gibbering wreck after meeting Frank Spencer, but by no means the last. Not by a long way.
In my opinion, Frank's fall in this episode beats Del Boy's fall in the 'Yuppie Love' episode of Only Fools And Horses. I wonder to what level of rehearsing was required for this particular stunt? Watching it in slow motion at 0.25 playback speed, the thought of even practicing this prior to performing it one last time before a live studio audience would appear scary to most ordinary folk. It had to be done in split second timing and even with that, it looks as though there was a high chance of personal injury to Michael Crawford in the process.
Fun fact: The actress who played the attractive young woman was actually the original choice to play Betty but lost the role to Michelle Dotrice. However she would also make another appearance as one of the pregnant mothers in Father's Clinic.
i wonder if he hurt himself badly in any of these episodes then. Some years back he said in an interview, he was on a stage show. There was a contraption that had to hoist him up a height. The supports broke and he fell breaking some bones He said he sued the company and had quite a good deal of money... He mentioned he has some metal parts in his body ...from that incident...:)
"You'll let me know then". 🤣
The delay in falling out of the cabinet is comic genius.
Absolutely brilliant fantastic
🥰🇯🇲🏴🕊️❤️✝️
I love Michael Crawford
We were spoilt for great sitcoms in the 1970s. Virtually all year round.
I love the begining of this episode...
Betty- "I mean when I look at you I get so depressed"
Frank- "Well it hasn't been that bad has it?"
This was my favorite episode

Michael performed his own stunts.
The late great George Baker in this episode.
That's what I call a wardrobe malfunction! :-)

Was she ?
Linda Hayden. You sure its her? She must be an uncredited extra then as it only has her down as being in this episode on the shows IMbd page.
