Hollowpox was really fun, I preordered a signed copy! :D I hope you enjoy it but FYI, it has a pandemic scenario in it so it felt rather topical but it was still fun escapism. :)
Karen M McManus has also written another book, Two Kan Keep A Secret. Or did you mention that and I just forgot? Anyway I liked that one as well! Also, yay for a Dutch author! (Maren Stoffels)
Hi Ash! I love the TBR soooo much! I really liked "Wilder Girls" so I'm excited to read her next book. Thank u so much for the TBR! By the way, "Sadie" is one of my favourite books of all time hahaha
I’m guessing Hollowpox was released early in Australia because I bought it last week when it came out and devoured it. Another 5/5 for me, so good. Currently re-reading The Diviners, just creepy enough to give me Halloween vibes. I first read it about 7-5 years ago so it’s basically like reading it for the first time because I don’t remember much.
Omg! I love Stephen King! I'd say totally read Salem's lot (which is PERFECT for holloween vibes), The Stand and Hearts in Atlantis (which is more heartfelt than spooky) I heard misery was amazing as well but if you really want to delve into Stephen King I'd say read The Dark Tower series because that series was INTENSE (if you do want to pick it up I'd say start with the stand before you read the first book and from there look up the proper reading order - it's worth it!) Whichever book you do decide to read I'll just say this - even if the plotline might seem discombobulated sometimes - the CHARACTERS are so well written and I think that's definitely what makes Stephen King's books work so well. Ok I'm done with my rave🤪
I am proud of myself. I finished Rebecca this morning. 😳 Only took a month.. I'm planning on reading The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue starting tomorrow so I'm not reading anything else today.
Enjoy the spooky season. Horror isn't for everyone though. My main recommendations would be The Shining, The Stand and IT by Stephen King as well as Full Throttle by Joe Hill and anything by C.J. Tudor
Carrie is one of my favorite Stephen King books & it's short so that's a good one to start with. I'm reading The Mist by Stephen King right now... another short one
This TBR sounds really good, and I'm so excited that you want to read some Stephen King, I was just wondering if you considered reading his books ! I'm currently reading 'Salem's Lot, my favorite is Pet Sematary and I'm planning to read The Shining in November. Happy reading !
I'm also planning a spooky/horror themed TBR for october, and in regards to Stephen King book recommendations: Misery (the first one of his that I read and also enjoyed a lot) and The Institute (which I read last october and lovedddd, I'd say it's a mix between X-Men, Stranger Things and... Stephen King's great narrative that keeps you interested). Hugs!
I get you. Even I don't like to read horror. I am currently reading This Savage Song and then obviously I am gonna read Our Dark Duet. I haven't really planned anything beyond that.😅
I'm reading the perfect spooky read right now, the cover really gives you Halloween vibes. A Tale of Witchcraft by Chris Colfer. It's really good so far. The only Stephen King book I've read so far was The Dark Tower, and that was good. I have quite a bit of his I still gotta get to at some point. Same here, I'm not too into horror, but there are some that are good.
I would totally recommend The Shining to you! It is my favorite of him and it is so good!! I recently reread it and I was so scared again! Love your videos! Have a fantastic day! :)
I tried to read the first 2 or 3 pages of the Final Empire and then never touched the book again!🤣 But I really do wanna like it. I might give it a shot again!
Totally random: I looooove ur hairstyle.simple and minimalistic If you are starting with horror, don't read Stephen king.but you do you,so if u wanna start strong go for Stephen king. If you haven't yet watched any conjuring/Annabelle movies, highly recommend. Good for beginners too.
If you need a cool horror book, I recommend Wilder Girls by Rory Power [i read it last month]. Current spooky book i'm reading is An Anonymous Girl by Greer Hendricks [I'm listening to it on audiobook. | It's a thriller]
The tower of nero is finally out
