- Kyosho KF01 1/10 Nitro F1 SP Edition. I am absolutely in love with this RC car. Fully Carbon Fiber chassis, with the optional two speed transmission shifts beautifully. From the sound, smell, and driving feel these rare nitro formula one rc platforms are magnificent to drive. I wanted to my build with you all. From the unboxing, semi building, and running/driving of the rc car.

I can 100% say aero in F1, 12 scale pan, 10th pan, tour cars, 10 scale oval... wings make a massive difference. In 12th mod without a body the laps would be 20% or better slower then with a body, some bodies would be significantly faster then others depending on the track. Back when 10th F1 racing was popular many many years ago a lot of the tuning is down via wings along with weight distribution. In 10th mod touring car again body and wing was as much a part of dialing in a car as suspension and camber/toe setup is. 8th gas on road again is another class where aero plays a MASSIVE ROLL, we run 5 different tracks and you may very well run 5 different bodies. Flowing fast tracks will be a couple 10th slower with a high down force body because you don't need the down force you need to carry speed off power thru turns and you need top end down the stretches. On fast but tight tracks a low DF body could be as much as 2 seconds a lap slower then a high down force body.... anyone that don't think aero plays a massive part is on road RC cars haven't ever ran onroad at a competition level. Another one that aero played huge in to and this is very old school is mod dirt oval.. those big lexan side wings that would be running down the length of the car on the right hand side of the car was your single biggest tuning factor.. length and height the difference between a well setup side damn wing and body and poorly chosen one for the track size and traction levels was the difference between winning and getting lapped. Old school mod electric and nitro 10th scale super speed way (in the golden age of RC, when turning comms on mod motors and lathe turning foam tires and BSR capped super speed way tires was a thing) again body and wing was the difference between having a car that was leading the draft and a car that was nearly undriveable at a race pace... and yes drafting was absolutely required, number one if you wasn't holding in the draft you 6 cell 1700 Nicd pack wouldn't make a 4 minute race running hot low turn mods and the Amp draw increase if your out of the draft was enough that the voltage sag would literally get you blown by... just like in real Nascar in Super speedway RC back in the day if you aren't in the draft you will fall to the back of the pack and just get ate up... aero matters in RC cars HUGELY.
Yes thank you for your input! I found aero matters in almost any scale of rc as well as weight distribution of body/chassis (on both slow & fast cornering) ! I drive real racecars as well and its amazing how it all transitions through the many scales and power plants of cars :)
You can use the Tamiya F103/F104 bodies and wing kits on the KF01. I've done it to mine.
I’ve done that too but they are a bit smaller than the factory kyosho kf bodies
