  • Ahhh...The world of boring 4-door sedan/saloon cars, and this one takes the cake. While the normal cars were nothing to be inspired by, one this is this; they are roomy, comfortable, economical, and relatively reliable. What this makes the Impala is a fantastic everyday driver car. Commuting to and from work, maybe travelling on vacation, or even as a second car, you can be assured that the Impala will be there. It's always nice to find these in such nice condition, such as this car. Usually, they are found as extremely high-mileage cars that are pretty well worn out, however, this one has survived its 16 years pretty nicely!

This Impala is in wonderful condition, I love those seats and wide, straight dashboard with column shifter. I love that steering wheel. I always had a thing for the exterior styling of these cars as well.

This is a7th generation Impala not an 8th gen. The 8th gens were introduced in late 2005 as 2006 models.

2006-2013 (up to 2016 when you include the fleet models), is the 9th generation Impala.

This Impala was based on the 2nd generation W body platform, which, like all W bodies, were all FWD.

Just 16 years ago and the build quality was typical...GM embarrassment. Thankfully, the great recession replaced many of the bean counters with executives who are engineers. GM today makes cars just as comfortable and reliable as Toyota and Honda. Their problem is overcoming the memory of them making poor quality vehicles.

I'd rather have this '05 Impala over anything GM currently makes. I disagree about this car not being as reliable, The 3400 60° and 3800 Series II V6 engines were fantastic and reliable. The seats were very comfy and cozy, but still supportive in that classic car way. The people in Oshawa produced a hell of a car.

2005 is when GM was building quality cars. Around 2008 is when the quality started to decline

12:42 @@hakeemsd70mI owned two of these. One was a 2003 LS, and the second was a 2005 Base model. I had both engines offered. The 3.4 V-6, and 3.8 V-6. My cars received regular maintenance at the GM dealer. The manufacturers maintenance schedule was adhered to. Both cars developed leaks in the intakes, and head gaskets. Both also needed new transmissions by 70,000 miles. The GM dealers all said the gaskets and transmissions were an issue on these. The dealer said they had all the parts needed to reseal the top end of the engine, and they also had the transmissions in stock. The steering racks would only last 3 years and then they would leak fluid. Both cars needed ABS Traction Control Modules. These cars are money pits. You can go broke spending money on repairs. The trunk release solenoids on both cars broke and had to be replaced. One Impala needed to have a catalytic converter. The only thing good about these cars was the comfort the seats provided. Two of the worst cars that Chevy ever made and I have owned a lot of chevys.
