Unlike westerners, our family’s lives, how they go about it, how they live their lives is something we should care about as family. It may be seen as ‘meddling’ by others, but to us, we understand that it is ‘care’ that spurs their actions. Although i do agree that some parents meddle too much in their life choices, those are extreme cases, and a case in which someone just didn’t have the luck and has bad parents. But which country doesn’t have bad parents right? I’ve never heard of any of my friends parents telling their kids about who to marry or anything about their SO’s, not sure where you got this impression from. It really just depends on your parents. My parents are very open minded and still respect my choices, but some are not. Asian societies are generally known to be competitive, even among parents. And we don’t like to lose “face”, which is obviously a very bad reason to be comparing your child’s achievements and forcing them to pursue more “prestigious” occupations like doctor/lawyer. But among my friends, majority of them are free to make their own choices while some still need to suffer from their parents, though only a small amount. Obviously, even if they have their opinions, they still listen(unless they’re really hopeless parents), you just have to reason with them logically.

Small info women is not Andy stepmother. She didn't take care of Andy in that marriage with Andy father. She is his ex or wife. She can't be Andy's stepmother. That is my observation.

Very intense and absorbing story but it cuts off at a most interesting and tense spot. Please
