I'm pretty sure prothrombin time (PT) is usually with-in range in VWD patients, not prolonged.
You're absolutely correct, however they said the PTT was elevated, also termed the APTT: Activated Partial Thromboplastin Time. This looks at the Intrinsic Pathway.
