I finally removed the screen from my upright bike and replaced it with a low shield, that just covers the clocks, and maybe takes some pressure off my chest: a whole new ballgame of relative quiet and calm. I was inspired after buying a street naked, how much quieter it was at all speeds. If you're wearing the right gear, any loss of weather protection is worth the tradeoff. well worth it.
Nakeds are all I know, but I've never found the lack of wind protection to be an issue, even when cruising at 70mph for hours on my XSR. My biggest gripe when going fast is always the wind noise instead of wind or rain.
@@neevesybikesThis past summer I purchased a ‘24 Tracer 9 GT+ and the first thing I did was to replace the windshield with the shortest one I could find. Gone was the buffeting and “jet engine” roar. I had all intentions of refitting it this winter with the addition of a deflector at the top, but I’m so accustomed to the short screen and how to properly dress for the wind blast, that the original “riot shield” is staying in a box in the attic of the garage. 😉👍.
@jaide1312 I find without a screen, the wind is consistent and good earplugs and helmet take care of it. With a screen I'd get vortexes under some conditions and nothing could stop the intense noise.
My money-no-object garage would be: 1. 2008 Fireblade in Burgundy 2. GSX-R750 L1-L6 with carbon wheels, FGR 400 forks, TTX GP shock, GP4 calipers, and RMC GP master cylinder 3. CR500 race-prepped 4. NR750 5. Laverda Jota 1000
Never start your bike/car unless you intend to drive it up to operating temperature in order to fully lubricate all the moving parts of the vehicle. That advice has served me well for over 50 years.
At last a true motorcyclist giving real advice for real life circumstances. NC 750 X is the perfect choice for that guy, it has been given the boring tag for too long, like a hand gun is boring because it's not an AK 47 ...(It has top speed of over 120 mpg.. Nah not enough?). There is a UA-camr that has over 200,000 miles on his and has travelled all over South east Asia. The Frunk is Genius and has now been copied by an Electric Motorcycle brand asking for £25000 and BMW copied the looks for the 1300GS. I am not an owner, I was put off by the boring tag. Test rode one and thought it, was a hoot.
I have a ten year old slightly beat up NC. I bought it well used for not a lot of money and it's about as boring as it gets. That being said, I love riding it. It encourages a relaxed pace and doesn't taunt me into speeding or other such tomfoolery. I can barely remember what colour it's painted but I've enjoyed many a sunny day making runs for milk and eggs or just leaving the house because the weather demands it.
For winter storage, do not start your bike every week in the winter, it’s just loads of colds starts which won’t do it any good. Fill the tank to the brim with BP Ultimate or Shell V Power as apparently they have hardly any ethanol in the fuel and stick it on a battery tender. Also, make sure it is clean and dry.
Ethanol is a storage disaster so the less you have in the fuel tank, the better. It is hydroscopic so removes water from the humid atmosphere which is a problem for metal tanks. Would result in a horrible tank strip and clean job, probably a new fuel pump too. So quite an expensive mistake. As stated above, fill up with E5 fuel to minimise the humid air storage in your petrol tank so keeping rust away. Obviously the tank is never air tight because of the overflow tube so a dry garage is essential.
@neevesybikes Michael, yes you would so wear and tear. Don't believe most people would stand in the cold long enough to run the engine up to temperature so that's stress for the engine and why the oil companies test lubricants in cold weather. Presumably service intervals also take that into account as modern bike reliability is good.
I fill the tank with e5, put fuel stabiliser in and run the engine for 10 minutes then leave it through the winter. Never had a problem with gumming up or poor running.
Aaahh..I enjoyed that. With all the stuff going on, listening to a sound bloke talk with knowledge experience and passion about what we all love so much is just, well, terrific. Thank you
"It doesn't matter" (Dunn, as cited by Neeves, 2021, 2024). No, really, if we all applied that mantra to our egos when we ride there would be so many fewer offs. The original "secrets of a road tester" series from your room during lockdown is some of the absolute best biking content I've ever seen - esp. that "how to tour on your motorcycle" one. I made a trip to Tuscany with the Missus in 2023 based on your advice (ferry crossings, pack light, etc). Cheers, Neevesy
Love the content, always something interesting in these Q&As. Two questions for you, you have recently bought a GSXR750 proclaiming it as your dream bike, there was a video from MCN where you put one up against an 848 and preferred the 848 and more recently compared it to the 899 and choose the 899. Considering the cost of your GSXR why did you not chose one of the Ducati’s that you preferred from the past ? And if I may also put a second question, why is there not any recent tyre shoot outs done? I am stuck between Rosso Corsa 4 and Metzeler M9 rr for road riding in my GSXR750 any preference? Thanks, appreciate all the info.

I had a Triumph Trophy 900 for a few years. Rode it all year. Used a Scotoiler, and the clag from that covered the back wheel which stopped the rust taking hold. I never washed it. The brake calipers used to corrode and I had to clean them out and put new seals in occasionally. Other than that it stayed in pretty good shape
Nice to hear your comment on wind noise. That, buffeting and a painful seat make for a bad bike. The worst I had was a 1999 BMW R1100S and a 1995 Honda VFR 750.

Regarding front tire grip. The first thing to check is your ability to load the front tire. More load = more grip. After ur really good with the front brake then consider other things.
Cheers again always engaging. Following on from the tyre debate. I was lucky enough to live in the mountains in Italy for 9 yrs, clocking up over 30,000kms on my 990 Superduke V-twin. All on Supercorsa SPs, apart from 1 set of Metz K3's & 1 set Rosso Corsa 4's. Back in Blighty now, I still run the SPs because of the confidence they give & my history with them. They just really suit the 990 & my riding, even in the damp & wet. The profile must help. Not really a Q&A. Keep up the good work, stay safe Pete

Another great video. Re safety question - for road riding is very different to track. Hazard awareness and prediction, position on the road and speed. I'd been riding for over 30yrs (20 or so bikes, from superbike to offroad) and found doing an advanced riding course taught me things I'd never considered. I found I could be smoother, safer, and faster/slower in different scenarios/conditions. I found my local IAM, but also ROSPA and one off rides with local police force are all superb ways to vastly improve your road riding. Admittedly, some stuff I covered was very very nerdy and OTT obsessive level of detail, however, strongly recommend it. Also get to meet local bikers and you'll probably discover some excellent routes you've never found right on your doorstep. Be safe and enjoy 😎
My 5 bike dream garage would be, my Sheene rep 2000 GSXR SRAD, an RG500, RGV250 (Sheene livery obviously) GT 750 ‘kettle’ and a GT 380, the last 2 for a little more comfort.
Great video. I firmly believe that we are all being subjected to subconscious conditioning when it comes to PR and advertising. I have suffered twice at the hands of Triumph and KTM. Purchased two brand new motorcycles ( all bells and whistles) only for them to be superseded by new models six months later. I don’t believe any of the hype anymore. Go with my own gut instinct. Keep the videos coming.👍
Ironically I’m away on my travels this week in Japan. Finally got my internet working and found you’d answered my question - cheers Neevesy! R1200 OC GSA - OC being the Oil Cooled engine (2014 was the last year it was in a GSA). SG - Singapore 👍🏻 Funny you would hone in on the NC750X - they are mega popular in Singapore and Malaysia, but I’d never given one the time of day due to the dreaded chain seizing issue. I really wish they’d start making more bikes with belt or shaft drive, akin to the Buells of yesteryear. Anyway, thanks for answering the question 👍🏻 Al
Hi Neevsey, would love to see you do an end of year video like the old ones you used to do. Just some good music coupled with a compilation of short clips from your year. They told a motorcyclist story without using any words! They always left me wanting to go outside, throw a leg over the bike and see where I’d end up. Thanks for nurturing the spirit of road riding. Looking forward to seeing your 750s journey in 2025.
Cheers mate. I used to enjoy putting those together. The music copyright makes it tricky, though. Quite often I'd choose a tune and it would block the video, so I steer clear of it now. I've got a Road Tester's Diary coming out on Sunday...with lots of words. Hopefully you'll enjoy it, anyway! Thanks for watching. Cheers Neevesy
Thanks for answering my questions twice in a roll. My zx12r has changed to 190 rear already, I think it is my riding style, I think i do lean on the front a lot more than rear, evidenced by the front tyre worn out way before the rear when I had the road 5. The rear lasted me 35000km the front lasted 25000km
Rear tyres are also available in different width height ratios that effect handling: 190/50, 190/55, 190/60 so the taller will turn the whole bike quicker. 200/55 for me!
Neevesy, you’ve become my walking companion over the last year or so - love your words of wisdom and how you just sound like one of my mates chatting to me. Solid and balanced advice - keep it coming. Question for you… Of all the places in the UK you’ve ridden where would you say is your favourite, and in particular which stretch of road and why? For me and my mates I think it’s the Bitchfield road (honestly!) near Grantham or maybe “13 bends” just off from Bakewell to Matlock. Here’s hoping I’ve not opened them up to loads more riders but then again, feels rude to keep them a secret. Cheers Neevesy, Tony B
Hi Neevesy, a question about the Ducati Multistrada range. Years ago you said that the 950 was actually the better bike (compared to the 1200/1260). How does the V2 stack up against the V4 these days? I bought a V2 a few years ago as I never ride two up and though I do have panniers and top box fitted, I don’t carry a lot of stuff. I do fancy a V4 but do I *need* one?
Loved the video.. just like listening to a knowledgable mate... "It doesnt matter".. needs engraving in the dash.. ride your own ride.. My 5 bike garage.. GSXR 750 ..got one. Blade SP2 ..got one Honda VFR 800 .. got one.. V4 Panigale to gaze at daily.. Suzuki Hayabusa only because I ve not had one yet.. Keep up the vids.... awesome..😂😂 Merry Xmas
5 bike garage would be my gsxr750 gp colours, hayabusa for touring ,rgv250 or rs250 for sunny rides, my grom for everyday work rides and a suter mmx500 for when i really want to play hard.😊
Another great video Michael sound advice especially the doesn’t matter mind set I’ve been practicing that for a few years but it needs practice 👍. Also on the subject of noisy screens I have found on my super Duke Gt having the standard screen in a low setting seems to really help wind noise as I have hearing loss and wear hearing aids off the bike I need to keep what I hearing I still have thanks again. 👍👍👍
Hi Neevesy, I enjoy these videos. One thing that you mentioned here talking about safety - assume everyone is out to get you, is it just me or does this sound like a horrible advice? Every time I hear it from someone I get this image how people ride scared for their life... I mean in general nobody wakes up with a thought to go and cause the accident. When I ride, I ride for the joy of it. I scan the traffic and understand that as a motorcyclist I'm quite easily overlooked in mirrors or can disappear in blind spots, but never assumed drivers are out to get me. Also after some time driving (car or motorcycle) you get the 6th sense of when someone is going to switch lanes or do some stupid thing, no?
The starting up of motorcycles during the winter storage period seems to be not very clear. Some experts say do not start your bike as it leads to high condensation levels building up in the engine. And others say start and run the engine until operating temperature is reached. All very confusing! But I am sure Michael you have heard all this said many times before. Thanks for the video.
No worries. You’re right, there’s a lot of conflicting info out there, but given my 750 hadn’t been started for five-odd years since its crash and still works fine, I’m guessing it’s a resilient little beast! 😊👍
As someone replied it's oil temperature that's important , I have to wait until fans kicked in about 3 times before clutch cover is not to the touch ,, I try my best to take my summer bike out every coupleof weeks (obviously weather permitting) and do at least 10 miles .Tommy Tickle
In cold weather, a bike needs to be run for about ten miles AFTER it is hot to burn off the acidic condensation. Triumph recommends pouring a few cc of oil into the bores, and then cranking the motor a few times with the spark plugs removed before laying up. I bet nobody does this (I don't). I used to keep my bike outside, hardly ever rode in winter, kept the battery charged, and bike started first time every time in the spring.
Nice to see to still mostly Arai man. I've just bought a haga rx7 evo still the best crash helmet. I am lucky to have my dream garage. Ducati 1098s,pikes peak multistrada 14 model from new. Hypermotard 1100 10 year. Triumph trident t150v, And just about to get an Honda ns250r rothmans same shape as 400r. Probably do a 300cc big bore. Did have a beta 300rr enduro but just didn't use enough, and no green lane. Near by had to trailer to sainsbury plain. 😀
If I could have 5 bikes... That's difficult because I've only ever ridden 5 different bikes, but I'll give it a shot. I'd have a 1: DRZ4S, for riding offroad 2: ZX4RR, for tearing up the twisties and maybe even doing some track days 3: R12S, I know they just announced it but it's one of the best looking retros of all time already. I'd get some clip ons on there to fully lean into the cafe racer looks. 4: Bullet 350, for cruising down country lanes when I want to take it easy. I'd like an old one made in the UK, but only if I don't have to maintain it myself. 5: My own XSR 700! Because I'm out of ideas, I could bring up a touring bike but I'm young and dumb and would be willing to tour on any of the bikes I've listed. But I don't think I could ever have that many bikes, I'd feel guilty about not riding them all enough! One or two is enough for me.
Thanks for answering my question Mr Neevsey!! My dream 5 bike garage would be: BMW M1000rr Ducati Panagale SP2 Aprilia RSV Mille R Honda CBR900rr fireblade (1993) BMW GSA auto
Hi, fantastic and informative content as always. Question in today's biking market where manufacturers use the same engine in different style bikes, which engine type would you you say in your opinion is best per bike category, i.e., In line four, sports, Boxer twin, adventure, Tipple, Naked sports, etc? Second question, would you say a 125is the best engine size to learn on or do you it would be better to learn on something with a bit more power?
It sad to see that this channel has less subscribers than some spec readers on youtube. What a great content... perhaps not as catchy to generation that is used to tiktok. I was keeping an eye on some lower displacement 'adv' or 'dual sport' bikes and noticed that journalists or youtubers are stating that they can run on highway all day long, while being well over 7k rpm (with redline being just shy 1500 rpm from the cruising rpm). I totally agree with "you pay for full tachometer - use full tachometer" slogan, yet running 400cc engine at 80-90% of rpm for commuting sounds a little abusive. What is your opinion about how cruising rpm should look like?
My 5 bike garage wish list. 1. Ducati Panigale V4 SP2 - track and general bling and definition of unnecessary… currently own. 2. Yamaha R1 big bang 2013 Kermit eyes - unique crossplane crank, already own. 3. BMW R12 Nine T in British racing Green - more sensible everyday road bike - can’t justify a 3rd and don’t want to part with #1 or #2. 4. Ducati 996 with carbon termi’s - used to service one of these when I left school and always wanted one. 5. Triumph Daytona 765 - test rode one years ago, signature triple sound and one of the smallest bikes I have ever ridden. Would imagine it to be great fun on the track. For when I am too old and unfit to ride 2 wheels… Ford GT40 replica.
It's a funny thing but I could never gel with my MT 10SP. I found the suspension harsh, in spite of all of the adjustment available and the seat was incredibly uncomfortable, but, I thought it looked brilliant and was totally reliable. By contrast, I absolutely loved my Gen 1 KTM SDR in every respect, including the brutal looks, particularly the comfort on long rides, but, the only thing that let it down over 2 years and 10,000 miles was the electronic gremlins and not knowing if I was always going to get home.
Hey Neevsy, enjoying the Q&As! With a younger generation of bikers now coming through and the super cool 400cc bikes available (I’m jealous of the options available now compared to 15 years ago when I was starting out riding), do you think sports tourers will make a come back as an alternative to tall rounders? It is my belief that tall rounders exist due to the aging biker population and the comfort of an upright riding position so I’m praying a few more manufacturers bring out genuine sports tourers! Bring back the Honda blackbird!
Good advice about things not mattering. I never get road rage on the bike, I have a rule that I'm very polite, patient and the worst I'll do is a shake of the head, it's just not ever worth getting angry. I save the raging for the car 😂
Regarding starting the bike and it warm up while it’s being stored for winter. Do not ever do that. Once you start it, you have to go ride it. It has to go through a full an entire heat cycle to evaporate all of the moisture that’s in the airspace inside The engine block and transmission. What you’re doing is your inducing condensation inside the motor when you let it just run for a little bit. So don’t do that anymore. Just let it set or take it out and ride it for an hour. If you’re concerned about top end oiling when you start it up, you can unhook the spark plugs spin the starter a few times get the oil to the top of the motor reconnect, the spark plugs and then start the engine.
hi neevsey I'll keep it simple. Where have all sport touring motorcycles gone? I'm thinking things like Honda vfr's , Yamaha fazer's, Triumph sprints etc; Most of the manufacturers used to make something with focused handling, sporty riding ergonomics and a fast engine that was also comfortable over distance and capable of carrying a bit of luggage. For a lot of folk it's the type of bike that makes the most sense for real road riding, especially if you can only own a single bike. All i can see left on the market that falls into this niche are the Kawasaki z1000sx and the Suzuki gsx-s 1000gt. Instead of sport bike sensibilities most of the all the all rounders now seem to be adventure bikes on 17 inch wheels, and not everyone enjoys the riding dynamics of those tall gangly bikes. Do you think we'll ever see a resurgence of proper sport touring bikes or am i just living in the past?

With regards to the zx12r question, a squared off rear tyre could be a problem, alot of people fit a 190/55 tyre instead of the standard 200. Makes a huge difference to handling, also putting a big washer or some sort of spacer above the rear shock will also help, but will lift the seat height so may not be a good idea for shorter riders.
Hi Neevesy, thanks for all you do. I recently got my first “big” bike after 14 years of stops and starts on 125s, an RE Continental GT. I’m at the point where the OEM Ceat tyres need replacing as the rear has squared right off, riding mostly in London. I am leaning towards BT46 as they will offer more grip dry and wet, but my question is thus: what do you and others mean when you say a tyre like that will “give more confidence” in the wet? I regularly find the rear tyre getting swayze/squirrelly under spirited braking once the front forks are loaded, though this is admittedly fun. Also recently when accelerating out of a corner in the wet I had the rear just start to step out, though I wasn’t being particularly heavy handed - less fun. Is the “giving more confidence” part more about front end grip? Is the BT46 old hat now?
Iv been riding bikes for over 40 yrs , started off in the 80's on what we would call motards now but really just twin shock xr500's with road tyres , then I started my love affair with big sports bikes which morphed into superbikes in the early 2000's and have been riding on track and road since , iv tryed riding other bikes but they r boring as hell, I just want to ride something that is powerful but handles and brakes just as well , I like hopping off a bike shaking with adrenaline, that to .e is living life not existing through it , mint!
Just watched your hornet review. Good as it is i think they may have missed a trick on the alter of price. Imho the sp should be 500 more with ohllins forks. Surely gives more distinction and therefore sell more non sp bikes?
How about storing a bike with a plastic tank? I leave 1-2 liters max of Shell V power fuel in my Honda XR400R but wonder if it’s best to completely drain it.
Dream garage : definitely a Vespa (if you count scooters), a BMW R 1250 rt for trips, a ducati 1299 s to be in my living room, something in the style of a super-moto enduro like maybe a suzuki dr-z 400 (or similar) and a ktm superduke 1290 ( 1390 ) for pure fun. short question: did any of your idols "open your eyes" in a some ride tips or tricks , and make you safer rider immediately ? P.S. : for me it is definitely 'Varahanes' ( Hannes name and he rides Varadero ) - a safe riding school instructor , more than milion km on 2 bikes ...
Looking forward to the hornet review. I'm very tempted. 5 bike garage, V4 panigale (own this already), Ktm 890 adventure, agree the screen is loud (own this also). Then a voge 300 rally for the green lanes round here. Aprilia Rs250 I never got one when they were new and I think every garage needs at least one 2 stroke. :) The 5th I'd get whatever my brother wants and send it over. All the best. John
You forgot (as did everyone else) the BMW f800s. It's a belt drive rotic engine, v reliable, and has some poke to it. The st and GT models also have belts, and are pretty much the same bike with different fairings and handlebar risers.
@10:55 - Don't start it at all, it's just unnecessary wear for the engine as it's never gets warm enough to evaporate all the condensation inside the engine. Just put the battery on a trickle charger and leave it alone 'till sping.
If a bike is OK looking, with good proportions (I think proportions are the key - almost anything else is forgiveable), and rides great - I'm happy to meet it halfway with no regrets. But those Yammis seem wrong from every angle. The current xsr900 shows that they can design a good looking bike if they want to. Maybe they'll do something similar with the MT10.- no need for retro, just calm down the tupperware and get away from the short humpy proportions.
I was looking for a tall rounder type bike to replace my Kawasaki Z800, but I've been slightly put off now as no doubt I'll experience the same issues with wind buffeting as im around the same height as you.
Hi Neevsey. Greetings from Thailand. I just watched your Hornet 1000 video (along with a few others), and it seems Honda have nailed it, which is great to hear. But, I was wondering if Honda have missed a trick. It's another bike with a rider-focused subframe. If Honda had allowed it to accommodate a pillion in reasonable comfort along with some hard luggage, I think they would sell even more bikes. Unless they have plans for a long-legged tourer on this platform that you can't mention...?
Hi Neevesy. I recently heard that P&H in Crawley has closed and is being replaced with a Superbike Factory. I live in Crawley. P&H has been there for nearly as long as I've been alive. Such a shame. Do you think that these huge warehouse type dealerships, seemingly driven by the finance model are where we are headed?
Hi Michael, you've mentioned your reduced hearing problems a few times. I wondered if you've looked into having a cochlear implant hearing aid? A friend of mine, her mother has been profoundly deaf since birth I believe, had them fitted and now has a good level of hearing again. Not sure what is needed for referral, or costs involved, but maybe it could be of interest to you. Anyway thanks for all the vids, and pearls of wisdom you give.
Hi Neevesy, great content as always.. You are always raving about the Fantic Caballero 500..This bike is equipped with a Chinese engine. What's Your take on the longevity on that? Also the Caballero Scrambler 700 is out now, which has the T7 Yamaha engine. This must be a safer option, in terms of reliability IMO, but what do you think? Have You come close to one already?.. Thanks
I'm not Neeves, but I find your question interesting so I'm gonna answer it too! The 700 seems to lack the low weight and suspension travel that make the 500 so appealing as a scrambler, It's more of a XSR 700 with Italian style to it in my eyes. That stock exhaust makes me a little mad at Yamaha for the hideous and terrible sounding exhaust they put on their CP2 bikes... I don't think a Chinese engine has to be a problem per se, a lot of our things come from China and the quality is just fine. The problems start when something is made too cheaply and corners are being cut, and only certain Chinese motorcycle companies are doing that. Brands like Shineray Motors that sell a lot of poorly built cheap retro bikes under different names for example. I think bigger players like CFmoto are taking things more seriously, and putting in the effort to make the best bikes they can so they can be taken seriously as a company, like how Royal Enfield turned their reputation around in the last 10 years. I would look for some long term reviews of the Fantic 500 and poke around the forums to see if people are having major issues with them.
Hey neevsey… I have to ride my fireblade at night because roads are so busy here in summer.. what’s the Best cold weather sports tires for UK winter riding?
@ nice one neevsey. Good choice. I was thinking the sportec m9rr. But that was only on your recommendation too haha. Either way looks like I will go with the Metzlers for sure. My tires are old dry toast. Have a wonderful evening.
Enjoyed your review of the new Honda Hornet SP - but like other reviewers, the price was such a big story that we didn’t really get to understand how it stands up to other naked / sporty bikes. Are people who could afford, for example the KTM 990 Duke, best advised to save some money and get a cheaper but better bike i.e. the Hornet? So, money aside, which (if any!) naked would you choose over the Hornet and which would you pass over (and get the Hornet instead)?
Hi mate, thanks for the kind words. The Hornet was very impressive. Like all launches we tend to just talk about the bike in hand and not how it stacks up against its rivals. That happens when we get the bikes in the UK and we do comparison tests. I’m betting there will be a number of Hornet shoot outs to answer your question and many more. Stay tuned! 👍
@ Will look forward to that then! Thanks for the reply - your channel should be on the curriculum for any journalists looking to use UA-cam, it’s an absolute masterclass btw
Re winter... keep the tank brimmed, prior to storage clean all the crap off\ polish, oily rag over the chain, run the bike up to temp once a month, keep battery on tender.
And care about kids old people wave out to people ❤ I used worry about ego. It doesn't matter. Admit since got my lound vtr 1000 I do feel like showing off. St 1100 changed me for worse excitement good too am 62 feel good again.
Good question. I like 44T, Billy Bolt, FortNine, Off Track, Lamb Chop, TMF...but mainly I like watching car and music stuff. I don't watch too many bike reviews. How about you?
U always say supercorsa r track tyres and ur half right , the supercorsa sc is a track tyre u can use on track and although not the best u can ride em on the road but the supercorsa sp (street performance) are great for fast road riding and track use without warmers .
Yep, that's right. The SC series are race compound and the SP is street compound that don't need tyre warmers. The latest V4 generation are ridiculously good. Thanks for watching!
It doesn't matter ....,wise words that can and should be applied to life in general 👍

My money-no-object garage would be:
1. 2008 Fireblade in Burgundy
2. GSX-R750 L1-L6 with carbon wheels, FGR 400 forks, TTX GP shock, GP4 calipers, and RMC GP master cylinder
3. CR500 race-prepped
4. NR750
MERRY CHRISTMAS! THANKS FOR THE GREAT CONTENT. ALL THE BEST FOR 25. KEEP ER LIT!
Back at you, mate. Here’s to a great ‘25 😊👍
For winter storage, do not start your bike every week in the winter, it’s just loads of colds starts which won’t do it any good.
If you used your bike in the winter, wouldn’t you be doing loads of cold starts anyway?
Thank you
Thanks for watching, mate. Much appreciated 😊👍
God it’s so funny I knew you were going to say the MT-10 before the question was even finished.
Nicely done and always informative
Thank you, sir!
Wow, thank you. I'm glad the advice was useful. Thanks for watching, mate.

@@neevesybikes Too immature to think of anything else 😂
I had a Triumph Trophy 900 for a few years. Rode it all year. Used a Scotoiler, and the clag from that covered the back wheel which stopped the rust taking hold. I never washed it. The brake calipers used to corrode and I had to clean them out and put new seals in occasionally. Other than that it stayed in pretty good shape
Nice one! Strong Tee shirt also - bought my very first 7 inch single in Our Price in Southend On Sea in about 1976. Just sayin lol 👌
Brilliant!

Have 2 agree, the nc750x is a great all year round machine
Another very enjoyable video Neevesy 🍻
Thanks mate 😊👍
Took the PUIG touring screen off my GS for the original small screen. 2700km in the Dolomites and it was a great decision.
Ironically I’m away on my travels this week in Japan. Finally got my internet working and found you’d answered my question - cheers Neevesy!
R1200 OC GSA - OC being the Oil Cooled engine (2014 was the last year it was in a GSA).
SG - Singapore 👍🏻
Funny you would hone in on the NC750X - they are mega popular in Singapore and Malaysia, but I’d never given one the time of day due to the dreaded chain seizing issue. I really wish they’d start making more bikes with belt or shaft drive, akin to the Buells of yesteryear.
Anyway, thanks for answering the question 👍🏻

Ahhh that makes sense! Thank you for what you do and Merry Christmas.
@@hks071 that’s a heck of a lot of miles out of either tyre!
I push front too think was Freddy Spencer's fault.
Another great video but I think the ten shorter question/answers are, in my opinion, more interesting perhaps.
Some great choices in there! Have a great Christmas 😊🎅👍
5 bike garage would be my gsxr750 gp colours, hayabusa for touring ,rgv250 or rs250 for sunny rides, my grom for everyday work rides and a suter mmx500 for when i really want to play hard.😊
The RGV was 2 stroke porn, gorgeous little thing
Either run it up to normal temperature, or don't run it at all. Never start it for a few seconds and turn it off.
@@TheOriginalCoda Oil temperature and not coolant temperature I presume? Thanks for your reply!
I'd have a
1: DRZ4S, for riding offroad
2: ZX4RR, for tearing up the twisties and maybe even doing some track days
3: R12S, I know they just announced it but it's one of the best looking retros of all time already.
My dream 5 bike garage would be:
BMW M1000rr
Ducati Panagale SP2
Aprilia RSV Mille R
Honda CBR900rr fireblade (1993)
BMW GSA auto
Fine choices, sir!
Great choices...even the car!
If you’re concerned about top end oiling when you start it up, you can unhook the spark plugs spin the starter a few times get the oil to the top of the motor reconnect, the spark plugs and then start the engine.
hi neevsey
I'll keep it simple.
I bloody hope so. Proper sports tourers are brilliant, you can have your cake and eat it.

Awesome video! Debauchery ! Hilarious! I loved that. Best!

I leave 1-2 liters max of Shell V power fuel in my Honda XR400R but wonder if it’s best to completely drain it.
appreciate the straight talking

Thanks for watching, much appreciated....and have a Happy Christmas too.
You forgot (as did everyone else) the BMW f800s. It's a belt drive rotic engine, v reliable, and has some poke to it. The st and GT models also have belts, and are pretty much the same bike with different fairings and handlebar risers.
Our Price! Crikey, that takes me back.
Blast from the past, eh?!
@10:55 - Don't start it at all, it's just unnecessary wear for the engine as it's never gets warm enough to evaporate all the condensation inside the engine. Just put the battery on a trickle charger and leave it alone 'till sping.
Al, if you do read this, you can get a Honda NC750 belt drive conversion kit
They are a great bike, I owned 3, and no problems
Hi mate. I'm not sure they'd go down that route with the NT1100 in their range, especially when it sells like hot cakes. You never know, though...

Ha, brilliant! 😄👍
Thanks mate. I've looked into all that in the past. My left ear is past saving with anything, unfortunately. Thanks for watching!
@ Definitely need to avoid the tallrounder screens then. Btw, was the Triumph 1200 okay in that respect then?
@@markpearce5793 no, that was its only downfall, unfortunately.
@jaide1312 thanks mate! Appreciated!
Hey neevsey…
I have to ride my fireblade at night because roads are so busy here in summer..
what’s the Best cold weather sports tires for UK winter riding?
Best cold weather/sports touring tyre around right now is the Metzeler Roadtec 02. Excellent, warm-up, plushness, feel and dry/wet/cold grip.
@ nice one neevsey. Good choice. I was thinking the sportec m9rr. But that was only on your recommendation too haha.
Either way looks like I will go with the Metzlers for sure. My tires are old dry toast. Have a wonderful evening.
@@meemee8041yep, Sportecs are very good, but Roadtecs excel in the winter 👍
Thanks for all the hard work.

That's very kind of you to say. Thank you!
Re winter... keep the tank brimmed, prior to storage clean all the crap off\ polish, oily rag over the chain, run the bike up to temp once a month, keep battery on tender.
That T shirt is making me feel nostalgic… and old
And care about kids old people wave out to people ❤ I used worry about ego. It doesn't matter. Admit since got my lound vtr 1000 I do feel like showing off. St 1100 changed me for worse excitement good too am 62 feel good again.
SG is Singapore.
New neevsy video and an Allen Millyard rebuild video in one night!
Would be interesting to know if you watch any other motorcycle content on UA-cam ?
I don't fancy the look of that bike! Hawk Tuah!
👍

100% with the mt10. Incredible engine but looks disgusting (personal opinion) I’d love a more aggressive mt07 with a mt10 engine
☀️
I don't like wind noise St 1100 really disappointed me I was how can this be. Really annoying.
🔥 💥💥better get down to our price 🔥
Oh. Yeah! Blast from the past. X
I would never ride a Harley V-Rod again. To be fair it was an early model perhaps the newer ones are better.
