This is my remix of Zohar's piano solo arrangement with Mathew Valente's Chrono Resurrection remix of Mitsuda's original.
Zohar's arrangement is here:
• Video
Mathew Valente's remix is here:
• Chrono Resurrection - ...
I always thought that Zohar's arrangement added a whole new level of tragedy and spirituality to the original (his Shevat arrangement is similar, even more so, btw). It takes away most of the lightness that the original may have had and makes its contrast between bitterness and sweetness much more distinct and intensifies the melancholy of the piece.
Valente's remix on the other hand is dominated by guitars whose riffs have a special feel to them that gives the melancholy of the piece a different, perhaps more brighter, 'color', or even takes it away altogether. Also, he added the Chrono Trigger theme into his remix. I always thought it gained a lot by this, because he made the theme fit into the composition so well and seamlessly that you wouldn't notice it is from a second piece.
So, what I have basically done is that I have added a fourth 'clef' to Zohar's arrangement in which I try to imitate those guitars, and then I inserted the Chrono Trigger theme section at the corresponding passage as well. I had to make some changes to the riffs in order to make them playable (the "third hand faking" gets insane here), and also because I felt that some of them for some reason lost their desired effect or led to unpleasant sounds when played on the piano exactly as they were played on the guitars.
It has passed ~11 years and i still think this song is the best cover ever made.
I love this and PPF's cover of the same track. Verdegrand's takes second place for me overall, first for piano, and it's a very close second to PPF's.
Same
Coming back 12 years later, this is still the most impresssive piano cover I've ever seen. Such a brilliant and rhythmically driving arrangement. I never managed to learn it beyond the first 0:30 seconds. But that's okay :)
Keep up the grind. I learned it on computer piano. (basically playing piano on a pc keyboard piano layout, weird and stressful to learn but i learned it regardless)
lol same for me
One thing that was a very important lesson for me, is to actually start with the hardest part. For me whenever I start with the beginning I will repeat it so long until I hate the song. But when you start with the hardest part and keep on practicing it you can also work on easier parts of the song in parallel.
And I think the worst is when you learn 3 of the 4 minutes of the song and then you realize that the hard part is too difficult and you can not play it consistently xD
@@Sandro1155 The hardest part for me was the right hand at 0:41 to 0:46 because there were so many notes layered and you have to keep them all synchronized. You can check it out on my channel
Yeahhh
This was absolutely amazing
I am 6 years away from piano, but that just gave me inspiration to get back to it
Thank you
I had the same experience with a zelda music. Hope you get back and become even better than before :)
In France, you have pianos set up in railways stations at the center of the waiting hall. Any people can play to kill the time. You'll definitively make hundreds of people waiting happy by playing this piece.
Good to know. :)
Hai La Duong I'm going to France now! Is this still a thing?
for sure! The one in station"Gare de Lyon" has the best piano placement... ;) Are you up for the show?
I'll be the show lol.
Hai La Duong They're doing this in the Netherlands as well!
That first 30 seconds is the most tragic and soul aching I've ever heard that sound, it's breathtaking.
I am quite confident this is the best cover of any video game song ever made. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for making and performing and allowing the world to enjoy this.

Автора и исполнителя благодарю за великолепное звучание сочинения, которое радует, вдохновляет и продолжает жить.
Is like 12 years now, and I've always come back to this video I really enjoy it and now feels like part of my life a bit, I hope you are doing good, and thanks for the amazing content
the amount of skill it takes to play this like he does.... is incredibly high
He plays kinda... playful :-)
He plays with his heart, he plays with excitement, he plays with a such great skill, what a great pianist.
Brilliant mate. I come back for a listen every once in awhile. Brilliant
I love how you've incorporated the guitar melody into this song...I didn't think it was possible for one person on a piano to do this! :D
hows life been over the last 11 years?
@@notzachpowers Not bad; working on my master's finally.
@@templar19 wonderful
I didn't think this song was possible as a solo. But there it is! Excellent job! Love watching your hands float across the keys.
I just keep coming back and listening to this, it adds to what is already an incredible transcription of the original song on the piano, which is insane. This must be loads of fun to play.
Really nice to see someone giving Valente's arrangements recognition. His are, by FAR, the best reinterpretations of the CT OST that exist. Thank you for this!
I have listened to many piano arrangements of this song, and I keep coming back to this one. By far the best. Outstanding job!
Two years later and this is still my favorite piano rendition of this song, followed closely by zohar's. Congratulations on this masterpiece, Verdegrand.
My UA-cam account isn't fairly active, but after hearing your rendition, I finally made my first addition to favorites! Thank you for keeping CT music alive :)
Великолепно, можно только позавидовать Вашим фантазиям.
I was watching your Castlevania Medley and than I saw this...Thank you. It's simply beautiful. Please keep up the absolutely astounding work.
This is why I love piano. It's the only instrument that could make me tear up, especially when played so lovely. Great job, I'm definitely checking out your tutorial.
this is beyond incredible. i can't fathom how much work you've put into playing the piano. your skill and capabilities are ridiculous, i didnt realize how much went into this piece until i saw the sheet music. this defines genuine inspiration for me: it's people like you who convince me to continue playing today even though i know i wont ever be as good as you.
Your music is so beautiful. This one in particular gets me to tears. It helps to let it out.
I am amazed 😱😱😱😱
Kara Comparetto Yeah, please also play this one.
I love you more kara :D
one year later .. you played it
You went from being amazed, to now your corridors of time cover is the best one on the internet 😭💚💚 Love your work, Kara~
The patroa has spoken
I'm always surprised by how clean this sounds, considering how many voices are playing at the same time.
my ears are HAPPY.
i really need youtube to add repeat\auto replay! i cant get enough of this..just beautiful..u really catch the real emotion almost like the original piece..awesome
Now it has, just right click on the player and click on the "Loop" option :D
That 4th clef that you added to Zohar's makes it sound like Chrono Cross...which is something amazing connecting the two of 'em!
I'm practicing a lot to learn this song, it's an amazingly beautiful and elaborated arrangement.
Greetings from Brazil.
Patrick Henrique Pinto Nogueira where did you get the sheets?
Greetings from America
@ sorry for the wayyyy late response. It was from Verdegrand tutorial on it (someone made de sheets): Corridors of Time "tutorial" (Zohar & Valente piano remix)
Absolutely amazing version of this song. Bravo, Verdegrand!
Probably the best version I've seen played! Very good! My favorite Chrono Trigger songs!
Just incredible. Your playing is so captivating, it literally takes my breath away. Thank you for sharing this and don't ever stop! I love watching each and every one of your videos!
Very nice rendition of both our remixes!
This is utterly amazing. Im also a big fan of that chrono resurrection version of the song. You did such a good job mixing in the main theme and the fourth clef and it sounds wonderful, especially for a huge Chrono fan like me.
I just keep coming back to this video! Can't stop watching it... It's amazing, a beautiful piece played incredibly well.
ahhh - really really amazing stuff - i've watched it like 5 times already!
the addition of the new voice was really a masterstroke of technical skill as well as musicality!
has this piece reached its final crystalisation now i wonder :P
five stars and more!
One of my favorite pieces, and a beautiful arrangement to boot. Marvelous!
Hows life been,,, its been 10 years now.
I can't believe I'm only discovering you now. LOVED it!
Wow. That is some of the best piano playing I have ever seen. Such precision!
Wow. What an arrangement... I love that the intro phrase is still detectable throughout. 👏
I teared up a bit. Well done, you do the ost proud.
Well. I was banging my head learning Zohars arrangement. But now I had to go and find this. This is a *masterful* arrangement. Kudos.
wow.. just wow. I don't think ANYTHING has ever moved me the way listening to this masterpiece has. I want to say so much more but I'm almost speechless.
This is the eternal kingdom of Zeal, where dreams can come true. But at what price?
CronosZxMkII hell yeah
The price is getting shrekt by literally a giant rock that somehow shoots laser beams and launches tactical nukes off its nonexistent back
Indeed. I immediately checked to see if someone made the correction. This and Schala's Theme are my favorites.
All life begins with Nu and ends with Nu. This is the truth! This is my belief!... At least for now.

Sin palabras.. ESPECTACULAR! me quito el sombrero y me inclino ante usted.. MAESTRO!
Dude this brings me back to like 10 years old. Im 41 now. Thank you
Was looking forward to this, and you didn't disappoint me at all! Good job ~
1:28... Wow!
A song from another world. I really dont know how can someone compose such majesty
Simply beautiful. There's no other word to describe it. I love the twist on both, especially TSSF's version.
Awesomeness came back... *tilt head* You are awesome, and I've only listened to one of your pieces! *purr* MOAR
This is just insane! Pure talent!
Vc toca muito bem, Parabéns!
"Corridor of Time" é uma música que "passa muito sentimento",
toca nosso íntimo, e em piano então ficou muito profunda.
Abração a vcs e tudo de bom com Jesus a todos!
I'd die of happiness if someone made a midi for this!

めっちゃ神!!好きな演奏です。
Such an inspirational piece and undoubtedly my personal favorite for sooo many years along with Gwyn, Lord of Cinder and Castlevania Medley (until Stickerbush Symphony), used to spend months trying to get this down!!
Man, I've recently finished Zohar's arrangement and now, seems, I understand, what made you do this. After understading his brilliant "three-handed" version, with each next performance you start feeling that for you it's loosing it's initial deepness and sort of cognitive challenge. And you go further...
I have the first page and a half down at about 3/4 speed. Ridiculously fun to play. Thanks for the sheets and "tutorial"!
Your technique is perfect.
Amazing work 🎉
Thank you very much for this. I used it as my personal entrance song at my bachelor graduation ceremony. It was great!
I don't have the words. Incredible.
So awesome with the left hand doing both parts!
Wow. I wish I could play like that. This is such amazing playing, & so beautiful.
OMG!! I listen the OST of Chrono Trigger almost every day. Simply the very best music ever made. And yeah I wish I could use more than 1% of my brain and play like this too! Must be an amazing feeling to be able to produce something like this with your own two hands.....
Very nice and soothing. Doesn't sound like video game music at all! The weighted keys on that MIDI keyboard really help with the authentic piano sound. This would be a nice thing to have in my living room. :-)
After ending notes: "Bravo! Felisimo!"
Maurice El muy Macho Yeah man. I've yet to play Chrono Trigger, but I hear a lot of its music, & it is very awesome indeed. Gotta get to that & Final Fantasy 6 one day. When I had time, I last left off at FF5, & got close to the end, but didn't get to finish it.
Marcus I. That's definitely a nice keyboard. I'd sure love to have one like that too.
Whenever I have a bad day or if I'm in a bad mood, I just listen to this. The nostalgia hits me, emotions come out, and I cry. I don't care if this isn't "manly" or whatever, I love this song.
i know this comment is 10 years old, but don't give a single crap about toxic masculenity
I always come back here to listen to your cover. I don't know but it's the one i love most. Thank you♥
That melody at 1:29 is so COOL. I could handle Zohar's arragement, but this is going to be really tricky to learn. Also you do that run at 2:37 really well o.o
Absolutely gorgeous.
this is still absolutely incredible
Don't know how you managed to put Corridors of Time and Cronos theme at the same time but it was amazing!!!
Ugh dude so awesome, im so jealous ive tried to play this on piano but couldnt get it, i love it man keep it up!
It took me a while but I got most of it done. I posted my playthrough on my channel!
Terrific job. Quite powerful.
Wow! Props for the crazy hand leaping to take both melody and accompaniment parts. =)
Great💖! I was impressed and had tears!
Thanks so much for the music and sheets! Another great collaborative internet effort has happened.
I started on this piece today and man is it hard. lol
This is Amazing. Thank you for recording this.
Awesomeness in its purest form
An absolut masterpiece till the end of times
One of the most beautiful things I've heard on piano.
Add my name to those requesting the sheets for this! I've been playing Zohar's version of this track pretty much every day of the last year and a half. I'd love to try out your arrangement, which is even more insane than the original. Good job!
Exellent work - truly beautiful performance :)
This is still the best piano version of this song. Period.
So majestic. Just like the song itself.
Simply beautiful.
There are a lot more notes in this than without remix. The new notes add the dark rich style to the music as well as an additional part
AWESOME. JUST AWESOME. The sheets'll take a while to get used to-- I don't think I've ever had to read a 4-lined chart before.
I'm looking forward to learning this one. Keep up the excellent playing! = D
This lead me to tears... 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Yes
Woah... beautiful isn't a strong enough word to describe this...
Every time I watch this, I always get a shiver down my spine at 1:48. Absolutely beautiful. :)
After listening to this for an uncountable number of times, i couldn't help but notice that when you play the piano it's almost as if your hands are dancing to the music as they play it... xD
MASTERPIECE!
So beautiful! T_T You did this wonderfully.
This is incredible
Absolutley amazing!!!
@Azndude1234 hello, you have to play all four staffs at the same time - mostly, the right hand plays the upper two and the left hand the lower two. it has been split like that so that the different musical ideas are clear. at times, the distribution of the staffs to the hand is intertwined, those parts are denoted in the sheets. if this is giving you trouble, feel free to watch the tutorial video on my second channel, the link is in the infobox. greetings
this is so great!!
Unbelievable. It sounds beautiful.
Zohar style and the end :D Love it good job
This is divine
14 years later, people like me still search for this audio
nice job! such a good song this must be tough to play it so dead on like this. Major props awesome song from a talented player!
