Aerith's theme gives you the sense of sadness, that one of the person you love is already gone, but also makes me feel that even though she's not here physically, she will always guide and accompany her friends and loved ones, it sounds calm and have a sense of you can do it, you can face it, like encouraging a friend, and I can literally imagine Aerith's smile while listening to this.
This song is always so painful. Knowing that Aerith knew how she would end and treasured every moment with everyone. And every moment with Cloud gave her comfort and strength to move forward. As she said in the remake "You've made me happy Cloud, the moments we shared, you've made me so much happier than I thought I could be" something along those lines. But always and always she's stuck in the end. Time after time before her end, she dearly wants to get out of the maze and just be with everyone. She always thinks she could just accept her fate but always in the end she ends up wanting to live, to stay with everyone. That's the reason why she says she's stuck in a maze. In each timeline she tries and tries losing a bit of herself as they fail to fight fate each time. That's the reason why she knew everyone before she even meets them in a timeline, the only things hindering her to tell everthing to everyone were the arbiters of fate andnnow that they're gone I really hope this time they help her get out of that cruel maze. She may be an ancient but even she has limitations.

Well, who knows. They already confirmed (through Ultimania - official) that the Remake opened multiple timelines. The OG story will remain the same, but different timelines might merge along with all the compilations of FF7 (i.e. Crisis Core, ACC, Dirge, that stuff the "Maiden who travels the world). This is why Zack was spared on his timeline this time (this is also recently confirmed - so please stop debating it and being afraid to accept CHANGE), want proof? Just look at the table where you can see Stamp dog on it, on Chapter 17 where you are at Aerith's room in Shinra when she was a child with her mom. Also, Biggs apparently lived, when he is also very important, along with Zack, upon Aerith's death, when the lifestream pushed the meteor to give time for Holy to activate its full power. Since they are alive on this timeline and Zack's timeline, who will be the motivational powers to manipulate the lifestream towards the meteor? I don't think Aerith can do that alone, nor with only Jessie within that lifestream. But again, who knows what will happen.

Massive ff7 fan, obviously completed original back in 1997 when i was 11 years old. Thing is my dad bought me the game for Christmas when i was 11 (well he said it was from santa ha) i balled my eyes out when sephiroth drove his sword through her. Now that my dad is in the heavens, Aeris theme tune is even more meaningful to me and i well up at the sound of it. For me its a mixed emotion of happiness and sadness. Now aged 34 and just completed the new remake on PS4, i dread to think how i will feel when Square Enix releases the follow on game to Midgar and watching Sephiroth do his deed to Aeris once more. I miss my childhood.
The sole fact of having this etched into my mind since 1997, makes me feel blessed of my childhood. Music is a wonderfully nostalgic time machine. Thanks for the memories, I will pass them on to my children, I promise.
I wish Aerith didn’t die.. she was the most kind hearted character with the most charm and I feel bad for her losing Zach, it must’ve been painful for a loved one to be ripped away like that. She was 100x better than tifa, nothing can change my mind about it.
@@frenchfryskies5429 i remember feeling devastated playing the original FFVII when she died. Then i got Kingdom Hearts and the feelings flooded back. Crisis Core left me a wreck after seeing her relationship with Zack and knowing that he would die then she would later and now I'm going through it once again in the remake, especially during time her and Cloud at the sector 6 playground. Weird how a person can get emotionally attached to a fictional character. Chalk one up to writing and character development for making me feel like a fool
As beautiful as this song obviously is (easily still my favorite of the entire OST), can we take a minute to appreciate how well is encapsulates Aerith as a character? So gentle, lonely, but ultimately, powerful, leaving a huge hole when it ends. I swear, using this song as the boss theme immediately after was *such* an incredible design choice.
yeah no major mistakes, all pressed at the right time but what i will say i heard early on there a few small mistakes where tangents may have been pressed slightly harder or with a slightly lighter touch, but really im nitpicking, its beautiful.
Damn... The Thing is, i never Played the old Final Fantasy 7, but i know what happend to Aerith. Now seeing her in the Remake how unbelievable adorable and lovely the made her, paired with that sad Music and Clouds Flashbacks of her Death, just hurt my heart. Feels a little bit like finding the love of your life, but you know she is serious sick and wont reach an high age.
I am 21 now didn't play the original too but I know almost everything about the game , I never able to listen the whole aerith theme bcs I srsly can't take it , it is so emotional for me to remember the scene again D:
It's been a couple years, but I listen to this often. And I read your comments. They're so filled with love that it's overwhelming. Thank you so much. And I believe some of you are right, he has gone back to the Lifestream. Bc I think of him quite often. I feel his life all around me and I hope you still feel the same with the loved ones that you miss as well.
Yeah, I can't say I was a fan of her back in 1997 when I first played it. It took me many years to grow past a lot of differences in how I felt the way I perceived her in the game. It wasn't until Crisis Core was released for the PSP that I honest to the Gods themselves saw her in a different light. To this day I've learned to embrace all the characters of one of the most beloved stories I've come across in all my years. Final Fantasy VII is truly a home away from home for me. And I'm grateful to be a part of the fandom itself.
Aerith`s theme brings me hope with a little bit of sadness. Through challenging times -- soon everything will be alright. Aerith heals Cloud`s inner world. She`s the deepest love for him.
Imagine you are AERITH, You fell in love once with a guy name Zack but he eventually faded away (You know what I mean?), Then you meet a guy who kinda resemble at him but as the day passes you realize that he's way different and fell for him then you realize your faith, That you won't really live long, so you decided to stop yourself from loving him and warn him not to fall for you cause it won't end well. I'm getting married this year and this is going to be the walk on music. It's a song very close to our hearts, and this version in particular is what we fall asleep in each other's arms to ❤
Even 23 years later, just hearing this song takes me back to the first time watching that scene, on that platform in the city of ancients, that materia skipping down the steps... What? I'm not crying! It's allergies, honest!
Aerith will forever and always be my favorite fem character. Her theme always manages to bring me to tears… it’s… I can’t believe a game did this to me. I have such an emotional attachment to this game, it’s pitiful, honestly. Her death in the original was like a stab to my heart, I can’t deal with that a second time.
This is, in my opinion, an all time classic composition. hauntingly beautiful, it evokes visceral imagery with each note (especially if you have played FFVII). Oh, Aerith....
I could literally listen to this song for hours. Never, has any character had a theme song that is so beautiful, heart-warming and heart-breaking at the same time. It's compounded with how wonderful the character is herself. Any man would be lucky to find a woman like Aerith. The remake did an amazing job on fishing get character or even more. Can't wait for the rest of the story.
This turned me into such a lover boy in 1997!😭 I can hear Cloud as his tears fell! This will always have a special place in my heart thank you for hearing me out! ❤

@Typically Anthonium nono, i wasnt makeing fun, im sorry. But her death is one of the most iconic on videogame history, i mean, you could have been born after that and still know it even if you didnt play it, i mean, its pretty famous (and Sephiroth as one of the best villians on video games history also). But i dont blame you, usually new generations dont know much about iconic characters, some things had more impact and popularity on older generations.
I swear no matter how down I feel sometimes this really cheers me up. Literally feels like my soul is listening to something from heaven. Aerith definitely has the best theme song ever.
man, I cannot listen to her theme and not have tear in my eyes. It truly conveys all her thoughts and emotions, and you feel like you just want to protect her.
Listening to this at 2am is a bad(?) idea. So many thoughts raced through my mind, and my emotions became so heightened to the point where I feel like I’m a child again. I’m a young adult, and I didn’t know I can still have this side of me intact. This is truly an amazing rendition of the original work.
I love the beauty of this song, and Tifa's theme, and so many more from the Final Fantasy series. Now in my 60s, there have been bands in my life that meant a lot to me. But no one has touched me on so many levels as has Nobuo Uematsu who created those works, and has been doing so since the earliest days of the franchise. Losing Aerith was not a good feeling, but the music has been magical; Aerith continues to live in that beautiful sound, sweetly touching us with every note. Who knows... maybe Square IS in touch with its fan base, and with Aerith's fans, enough to find a way to give us Aerith once again. If they do not, then she will still rest safely in the minds and hearts of those who embraced her existence, and who in many ways never let her go. In any event, we still have her theme; and I for one am happy for that.
When ff7 came out i was 7 months from being born... even now i never played the game myself. But purely from watching video’s this theme brings a tear to my eye. Such a beautiful and sad melody...
I remember playing this game with my dad. I was ten, I think. Maybe eleven. I didn't understand the plot completely, and I still don't, but I remember watching Aerith die, watching her body fall forward.... I don't remember how I felt when I saw her die, but I remember returning to the church where she grew flowers to see her ghost. I can still see it now, ten-year-old me watching her bend over to pick flowers again and again... I'll never forget those memories I had with my dad, and I'll never forget Aerith.
Incredible. You brought out so many emotions in me. I felt like I was 10 again, in the warmth and comfort of my room, where nothing mattered except the vast, rich world I was living in. Those were some of the best memories in my life and even though I can never go back, I can relive it through moments like this. Thank you so much for reminding me.
One of the best things is realizing the pacing and sound of aerith's theme vs tifa's theme. Sadness and mystery vs simple beginnings and growing strength. This game was truly a masterpiece.
Aerith's theme always makes me think of her beauty, her kindness, her bright charm, and her smile. It makes me think of her love story with Cloud and I feel so warm and calm. Thank you for playing it so beautifully, I think it is perfect for her.
Aeris has been my first bereavement because I was kid when I played, that game teached me how could it will be difficult to loose someone that we cared. It's still giving me a tear after all those years. We never forget someone that we loved.

I feel like the theme is supposed to show how Aerith has a childhood innocence to her. It’s calm and soothing, much like what her character is supposed to be to Cloud. Idk this is probably one of the greatest themes ever composed for a video game. If you showed this to most people they wouldn’t think it was from a game
Aerith is the personification of goodness and peace. She never died because millions of players prayed for her to be alive. Our praying for Aerith stronger than death. Aerith, you will stay in our hearts forever and ever, forever and ever.

Cloud : "I'll never let you go ..."
Cloud : "Shine Bright!" " Once moreeeeeee"
Cloud: "But i ..."
Cloud: "I'm coming for you "
The sole fact of having this etched into my mind since 1997, makes me feel blessed of my childhood. Music is a wonderfully nostalgic time machine. Thanks for the memories, I will pass them on to my children, I promise.
My brain:"Don't cry, you are a man now, don't cry!!"
My little heart that love Aerith:" Fuck sake i don't care anymore i need to cry"
Me :" Cry a lot"
Exactly my thoughts! That battle felt uniquely transcedental and emotionally massive.

Aerith will forever and always be my favorite fem character. Her theme always manages to bring me to tears… it’s… I can’t believe a game did this to me. I have such an emotional attachment to this game, it’s pitiful, honestly. Her death in the original was like a stab to my heart, I can’t deal with that a second time.
especially with how wonderful brianas performance is in the remake, i know that if we are going to have to lose her again it is going to kill me.

Sometime we have to face the reality in order to grow up. Cloud has too.

It gonna be so much more worse when Aerith dies this time because she has much more personality in the Remake and we will be able to spend more time with her.
That's assuming they keep with the script, but time will tell.
