I couldn’t personally bring myself to purchase anything. As someone who came to Darktide from Halo: Infinite when it became available on console, one of the more attractive traits of the game was how generous the store prices were IN COMPARISON. Add some more Commissary content and don’t overcharge in the Commodore’s, then we’ll be fine (I personally want to see recolours of base Veteran armour sets wind up in the Commisary; green armour, light green/mustard under-uniforms).
Why would we need a space marine when we have something like the ogryn? I've been pleased about that since day one. If people want playable space marines play space marine 2. Darktide is a chance for the astra militarum to shine. I absolutely love the representation for them in darktide and I hope we get more abhumans like the ratling or something really cool like a combat servitor of some sort as a new class.
Oh wow, a combat servitor as a class is a genious idea! This is something that has never been done before, you can do p much anything with it as far as weapons are concerned plus it would make the game like 100% more depressing because the dialogue would basically range from other ppl pretending you don't exist so they don't feel bad, actually being super sad and maybe even scared of you. It would also expose a lot of new fans to how horrific the imperium really is! Which is a big plus in my book

The only combat variant I can think of is the archo flagilant that has those two shock flail attachments on its arms which could be a potential melee weapon for the servitor class. Also the ratling would have some funny lines either picking at or getting along with the ogryn and vice versa. The ratling would be a really fun sniper class and would make sense for an astra militarum themed setting like darktide since they are the best abhuman sharp shooters who would probably have really good buffs to stealth and head shots since they are known to be able to remain perfectly still to avoid detection.

@Ace11Sky the way that the character voice lines keep saying they could use a ratling sniper in the squad always gave me hope that it'd be at least one of the playable careers we have right now. Knowing that games workshop likes to drop hints like that in their games. Who knows maybe secrets of the machine god was a clue that they might drop a mechanicus agent of some sort to the game too.
@thegametroll6264 tbh as much as a rating would be cool it would probably step on vet's toes way to much. Rattlings are good at stealth and shooting and the veteran does both already. Then factor in that any snipers the Rattling gets will need to be given to vet as well since having lots of guns is the only thing vet has over zelot. The best move would probably be to add either a tech adept or skitari so they can use all the cool mechanicus weapons that a vet wouldn't get

I don't agree, I'd rather have my leisure time game that I actively choose to buy and play update slower than have another company turn into a massive burnout factory that chews threw designers like candy. Could they do more, probably, but I'd rather see this extreme than the other. The results are not even better, look at Bethesda, the lack of consent vision from the constant team changes is not a joke.

"Modifications Cap" looks like a limit to how many extra points you can add to a weapon's base stats, something we've never been able to increase before. We will finally see weapons with percentage values higher than 80% with that feature.
Is it me or does this feel convoluted for what shouldve been a quick fix? Why not give tech mommy weeklys that reward crafting mats? On the modification cap, i want reasons to roll new weapons no cap means you just get one of each weapon to min max (aside weapons you want more builds of) look forward to seeing where this goes though
I agree massively that theyre missing by not including the player characters in more situations. Swagger is cool but it feels like they're missing opportunities to further develop existing characters. I suppose what the addition of Swagger accomplishes is the addition of the new (very good) map and them being directly involved/present in the mission. But still - id like to know more about Hadron, Rannick, we had a whole thing about Zola but we STILL don't know that much etc. I hope they take the opportunity to slow down and make me like these characters more.
I just want more maps and more unlock able armor sets that are not locked behind a paywall. It’s 40k, there’s tons of armor they can let us grind for and still keep some in the store. At least give us a way to earn premium currency in game like helldivers 2.
3:40 I had started going through and collecting all of the locked blessings before the secrets of the machine god minor update. Even though I wasted a ton of materials, I'm happy that they're making this more accessible in the future and that won't need to do the same for newer weapons.
I think the limit system could actually be very good for balance. So long as we can undo a change and get the points back at least. It limits God weapons which let's them balance blessings around what they combo with as a result, and if it's too tight they can drop it or if it's too lenient they can raise the values. I'd argue adding a consequence to having a stat at 80% increases agency by forcing people to make a decision about what THEY will be good at instead of just being amazing at everything.
I was never really bugged about the crafting system. I always thought of it as, we are rejects, we get what we can find (Brunt) and we fix it as much as we can (Hadron). Seems like making the perfect weapon should not be part of the gameplay... now now, I get that they need to balance the difficulty around that, but in-universe wise, seems like we should not pay so much attention to crafting as we do.
Enforcer skins was cool, I'm still waiting for Catachan cosmetics like red headband, green tank top, etc because although a grey tank top is worn by a Catachan Jungle Fighter I still want to see green tank, but they'd also have to sell it for the lower Aquila price range compared to the Enforcer cosmetics
just watched your video and noticed something with the caps. the 77/100 is the item level based on perks / Blessings, +8% melee damage (elites) = 6 +10% melee crit hit damage = 6 lv3 Rampage = 27 lv3 Ucanny Strike = 38 6 + 6 + 27+ 38 = 77, so i guess that means for balance we can only get upto 100 cost. - right now lv1 Rampage on one of my weapons has a cost of 25, lv2 Rampage 35, lv3 Rampage 45, lv4 Rampage 45, assuming somethings similar, half the cost of lv1 it would come to 35ish. - also +10% melee crit hit damage is a lv4 perk which costs 25 right now, its discounted to just 6. so at 100/100 cost you could have 2lv4 blessings and 2lv4 perks, depending on how fatshark balances them, but following the math and their rules it looks like you wont be restricted too much. i think for the other 98/100 is how we can distribute the stats on a given weapon assuming a 80% for all. but that also means that players have the option to have 3@100% and 2@50% as an option as well as 5@80%. im not sure about the restriction, but having it may artificially create build diversity, - as some may build for Just Damage and dump Dodge, and some may build for mobility. being able to 100% everything may lead to less build Variety, though slightly. just a thought, Thanks again

I think the caps refer to the sum of the perks/stats of the weapon. So you can have whatever combination you like as long as the total does not exceed 100, and presumably you can swap them out an unlimited amount.

I’m Australian myself, so this’ll sound ironic, but most of my exposure to other Warhammer fans so far has been other Aussies and Brits (I’ve loosely followed Warhammer since Space Marine 1, but never got heavily invested until the past few years). Armed with this knowledge, you can imagine my confusion when hearing that accent just disappear (even though my main group for Darktide consists of Americans). It’s a healthy change, I’m sure.
I am a bit conflicted on the skins. I want to get the enforcer skin for veteran for roleplay as an enforcer (using the stun maul and snub revolver or shotgun) but I don't want to give fatshark the money as it is not worth the price. All skins should be capped at $10USD or equivalent. Personally, it motivates me to spend $10 dollars in a game that deserves it, helldivers 2. you don't have to spend money on super credits as you can find them in missions from P.O.I locations, but unlike fat shark they deserve the money. I can only hope that most others do the same and resist the purchase of these skins, I feel like they look pretty good compared to most that have come through the store but are just way too overpriced. I think right now you would need to spend $13.50 to get just one of those sets, and that is not including weapon skins and such. Truly dissapointing, where as in helldivers 2 you spend $10 and get a pass where you can grind for emotes, skins, new weapons, and other equipment. Really giving the players value in money they spend. Fat shark would make more money if they dropped the prices of skins down to $10 or less as people (and me) would be more willing to buy multiple skins. Now it feels like it costs an arm and a leg for just one item or bundle.
I swear it will be a glorified Athanor with limited progression, that will inevitably regress you ages, because... "You didnt obtained the lower level blessings to get enough XP" And it took them years because they had figure out how make it grindier.
Already gonna say the hole weapon is 0/100 then it comes down to what of the modifiers "stats" you wanna make better such as Damage, Mobility or whatever. I am not a betting man btw.

I dunno about you but I've recently had a shortage of diamantine, probably mostly because of only doing part of the kill challenges from a while ago which only gave me plasteel, but it is frustrating trying to upgrade weapons to max level.
I might actually bother to redownload the game if they do this right. The new weapons are cool but with itemization still being trash its still a hard pass. Gameplay and soundtrack are fire but story (its a horde shooter so expectations are mid at best) and itemization is trash and without that I cant stay invested.

the modification cap is not a maximum of 100 changes. come on, you're grasping at straws in this specific point. you can see in that picture perks and blessings have a value of some sorts which add up together. so it's meant as a cap for how good the blessing and perks can be on your weapon, so that you can't have max level perks and blessings on a weapon you just bought, you still have to upgrade it. which makes sense to me.
i was hoping weapon parts swapping like the mods and skins like in drg, hell the armor skins are cool af but i dont like how you have pristine armors instead of run down versions since you are a prisoner, like the Krieg suit could be all torn, except the commissaire suit, like wtf is that doing here lol

All skins should be capped at $10USD or equivalent. Personally, it motivates me to spend $10 dollars in a game that deserves it, helldivers 2. you don't have to spend money on super credits as you can find them in missions from P.O.I locations, but unlike fat shark they deserve the money. I can only hope that most others do the same and resist the purchase of these skins, I feel like they look pretty good compared to most that have come through the store but are just way too overpriced. I think right now you would need to spend $13.50 to get just one of those sets, and that is not including weapon skins and such. Truly dissapointing, where as in helldivers 2 you spend $10 and get a pass where you can grind for emotes, skins, new weapons, and other equipment. Really giving the players value in money they spend. Fat shark would make more money if they dropped the prices of skins down to $10 or less as people (and me) would be more willing to buy multiple skins. Now it feels like it costs an arm and a leg for just one item or bundle.

Modification caps I think are more there as their idea of game and weapons balancing, it may be ridiculous to some, RPG hams still seem to go for it

I swear it will be a glorified Athanor with limited progression, that will inevitably regress you ages, because... "You didnt obtained the lower level blessings to get enough XP" And it took them years because they had figure out how make it grindier.
Already gonna say the hole weapon is 0/100 then it comes down to what of the modifiers "stats" you wanna make better such as Damage, Mobility or whatever.

Bro modification cap is totally fine why are you so negative. It's alright to have a cap on things so we don't end up with a weapon that's 80 on all 5 stat lines, alongside tier 4 blessings and tier 4 perks. It's alright to have to make a choice in how you want a weapon to feel and work.
Honestly the only weapon im missing is a Plasma Pistol for Veteran

I dunno about you but I've recently had a shortage of diamantine, probably mostly because of only doing part of the kill challenges from a while ago which only gave me plasteel, but it is frustrating trying to upgrade weapons to max level.

I might actually bother to redownload the game if they do this right. The new weapons are cool but with itemization still being trash its still a hard pass. Gameplay and soundtrack are fire but story (its a horde shooter so expectations are mid at best) and itemization is trash and without that I cant stay invested.
do we have information about a new class? like being able to play as a techpriest or maybe skitary or something like that wuld be cool, and i agree about the spacemarine wuldn´t be posible to balance that eighter a spacemarine class wuld break the game by being way to powerfull or you wuld just not do the spacemarine justice and it wuld feel way to weak, because lets face it, most things we face in this game wuld not be able to injure a spacemarine in anny way they wuld just be immune to the basic enemys even the specialists or ogrin wuldn´t be able to do much to a spacemarine, only the big bosses wuld be able to and that just wuldn´t work, and tbh as much as i like being able to play as a spacemairne, it wuld completly take me out if my spacemarine charakter wuld faal to a singe guy with a wooden club or is pinned down by a dog, like that just dosn´t work, and i mean we have a dedicates spacemarine game comming up so safe your fantasys for that
the modification cap is not a maximum of 100 changes. come on, you're grasping at straws in this specific point. you can see in that picture perks and blessings have a value of some sorts which add up together. so it's meant as a cap for how good the blessing and perks can be on your weapon, so that you can't have max level perks and blessings on a weapon you just bought, you still have to upgrade it. which makes sense to me.
