Bro, Korea’s crazy when it comes to accepting lgbtq. It’s such a culture shock when you are living in Germany and are basically surrounded by lgbtq people all the time or just visited Amsterdam ( I think I saw the most rainbow-flags ever, they celebrated pride recently so it’s all still decorated). But tbh, the girls protesting against lgbtq probably ship their two favorite idols 🤷🏻‍♀️

Which goes to show you that they don't actually think about the country as a place where real people live, have jobs and opinions which they won't like especially if they are fetishizers. Yeah the reality is alot to many ppl on social I feel cause alot more modern society ever since round 2018 multiple schools, parents and even government parties were exposed to ppl in the community for quite a long while. Feminism, diversity in race. Not all places had that same amount of progress. And not many ppl take that into consideration I feel. That's why it's not surprising to me to see that in Korea. But bc danger and alot of hate crimes do get worse. It does even shock me being trans korean in the west. We really are more likely to be unaccepted than if you were someone in the gay community for e.g. I still have faith and hope tho like Kelsey. They have always been gay people but they are just closeted. So Koreans who say they dont have gay friends just DONT know they have gay friends. Also as a foreigner who has been to South Korea on 4 occasions I think like all churches and religious institutes - there is a real predator issue within korean churches. I say this as I am always being approached by old men who say they are Christians and they go to church but they are also inappropiate in subtle way. They dont realise I am a neither really young or naive So I think religious institutes all over the planet should sort out their predators before they look outside their community.

I thought that the younger generation will be more understanding and that together with older generations, the homophobia will slowly die...well, i was wrong. It’s a propensity towards fascism because of their indoctrination. They’re not thinking about what a free country looks like, or the consequences of their actions, only their own desires based off what their groups want . Protesting lgbt people is an act of suppression.

Tbh I’m not the slightest surprise, it looks exactly like I expected it to be. There ain’t much coverage about Korean politics here in Germany, but small pieces we get and consuming k media regularly, shows how deeply conservative this country is. Being conservative isn’t the problem (at least in the way we over here understand that word). The problem begins when you use that as an excuse to be homophobic, xenophobic, racist, antisemitic and everything else for what you lowkey deserve a beat up.
I’ll never understand the hate from religious groups. At the end of the day is for example Christianity about love itself:
the love that the lord has for us his children, the love he has shown us by sending his son down to pay for our sins, the love we should have for each other and our surroundings . I truly don’t understand how this excludes a group that is all about love too. All these people want is to love freely themselves however they want and whoever they want. The LGBTQIA+ community is the love itself. And to bring it back to my point, if your religion teaches you to love your neighbors, the people and the things around you how on earth can you sit there and deny people the wonderful feeling of love itself.
I’m actually hella disgusted and pissed by this.

I'm literally shocked, because I never thought protesters would be like this, with booths and stages and people singing (?) Here in Brazil, we have one of the biggest (if not the biggest one) pride parade in São Paulo (with more than 4 million people), and a lot of religious actually go there, not to be against (it was like this in the past), but actually to invite LGBTQ+ people to go to church, to say Jesus loves them, to ask apologies for how church treated us unfairly for so long. Yeah, we have a lot of homophobic people here, but I think they express their feelings when they are only with people who think like them, because if they around us, they don't spit bullshit on our faces, because that's crime (The Supreme Court ruled in 2019 that cases of homophobia and transphobia were applied in the law dealing with racism, thus making homophobia a crime.) But on the other hand, I'm happy to see so many people going to march in Korea, even raining a lot, and being like: "Hey, I exist, I'm here, and if you don't like me, go f*** yourself." This is actually a progress, and we have to keep going. I hope I can be there next year to support you guys :) I love your videos, and it helps me a lot to understand your culture, because I translate K-dramas subtitles, and it's good to understand the context, so I can translate everything properly. I can't help but feel gutted by the level of opposition. I didn't think it would be that bad, but it is kind of intimidating... The fact that there are so many... what does that say about the people you interact with on a daily basis... how many of them wouldn't accept who you are, and would do horrible things to you if they were to find out... It's just a scary thought to me
Anyway, I was in Korea during this festival, but I did not hear about it, nor did anyone in my surroundings tell about it, but if I had known, I would have totally tried to join. I don't even join these things in my own country, but the big difference is that in the country I am from, lgbtq+ is more generally accepted. Doesn't mean that incidents don't happen, but you definitely wouldn't find such a massive opposition at the festival. I would have joined the wonderful people who fight for lgbtq+ rights there and show that we will never live in fear because of the opposition. 🏳‍🌈

Honestly as an Indian its quite homophobic here too but the younger generation who are like under the influence of social media and understanding with like better education are less homophobic and also the school I go to half know that I am bi (I go to all girls school ,how ironic🤣🤣they said no boys so here we are)and are very supportive of the lgbtq culture in general (they are dangerous, I flirt and they flirt back just the same lol)
My friends at my coaching institution know that I am bi(although all don't support they don't hate or look at me differently either we are friends just the same)
For me coming out to my friends was easy since I am like "bitch if u break friendship for this then u were never my friend and I don't need ppl like u in my life" cause I am a very self centered and selfish person who thinks that as long as I am happy I have the capability to make others happy
Fun fact: my mother is old fashioned who doesn't allow me to wear shorts but I didn't need to come out to her . One day she is on call with my aunt and goes like "um ....yeah so my daughter likes girls " and my aunt goes like "yeah its not like she is committing a crime" I was feeling a lot of emotions and wanted the earth to swallow me up (my mom knows I have a crush on a girl lol but I haven'tcome out to dad yet and I don't think I need too I will just surprise him with a daughter-in-law👀✌🏻)

It's obviously frustrating but we are decades behind, we will get there in the end it's just gonna take time, with the internet it has to go faster.

Nothing against the festival itself but is there a reason why it was held IN FRONT OF A LIBRARY? There were swarms of anti-LGBTQ protesters ringing gongs, preaching random bible verses etc... It was terribly noisy, but because they were outside we just had to endure it. Same goes to the festival attendees who really had to change their clothes in b1 braille book section...

Honestly, it's kinda like this in the US too so this isnt that surprising (to me at least). The alt-right here are outspoken and very religious (usually homophobic). Even now Roe V Wade was struck down by the Supreme Court, which means abortion isn't a legally protected right anymore and left up to the states to delegate. Most right-winged states have made abortion pretty much illegal. Some states have banned it with no exceptions (even in cases of SA, incest, and some medical cases). Even now, in the US, right-winged states continue to ban LGBT books in schools and library. It seemed like the US was making so much progress, but in this case the pendulum swings pretty hard back to conservative beliefs in times of dissolution and uncertainty. It's disheartening to see South Korea denying people basic respect on the basis of their sexual orientation or gender identity. Hopefully South Korea will eventually accept LGBT people. Like homophobia is a problem in the US but to see that many people show up to protest is kind of alarming

I really hope this movement will move swiftly and more people join and understand and come out! Imagine how many Koreans are pretending to be someone they're not...Imagine all of the celebrities who are LGBTQ and can't come out, because of the stigma they will face. Just percentage-wise, there must be so many.
I hope there will be more Korean content creators and celebrities coming up, that can inform at least the young Koreans about this issue! I feel like that was a big part of how it worked in most of the west.

    Isn't judging others a sin?

    • @hillarysudeikis2264
      @hillarysudeikis2264 2 роки тому +1

No, judging others who commit the same sin as you out of hypocrisy is a sin, read the whole of Matthew 7, not just the first verse, you’ll get the context ❤️.
Lord Jesus Christ is coming back everyone, please don’t worship celebrities and entertainment, focus on Him alone. I promise there’s more to life than money, partying, homosexuality and music. Hell is real, repent from sinning confess your sins and ask God to forgive you, I know He will if you’re sincere. Anyone who thinks the Name of Lord Jesus Christ is a joke, boldly mocks and scorns Him or takes pleasure in people who do is in for a big unpleasant surprise on judgement day IF they don’t repent and follow Lord Jesus Christ. Hell is very hot, people please repent! In the mighty name of Lord Jesus Christ, Amen 🙏💪✝️💜❤️✝️!
Idolatry such as, Islam, Catholicism, Sangomaism, Buddhism, Hinduism, Santa Clausism, Confucianism, New Age, Science, Evolution, halloweenism, Harry Potterism, Politics, Donald Trumpism, Easter Bunnyism and other religions/faiths that are outside Biblical Christianity lead to hell! Don’t believe them, believe the Almighty God the Father of Lord Jesus Christ, who begot Him. Our Creator, The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is mighty, He doesn’t need a woman to beget a son, He is God. I choose to put my faith in a God who can do anything and everything, a God who has unlimited and infinite power to beget!
So, it’s time to confess that Lord Jesus Christ is the Lord and to believe that He died and rose from the grave after three days and you shall be saved if you only obey Him by praying, worshipping, praising, reading the Bible and living holy and righteously according to the Bible. You have to endure until the end, carry your cross daily and build your relationship with God by following Lord Jesus daily until the end. You must never renounce your faith in The Lord Jesus Christ, there’s hell awaiting those who reject/deny Lord Jesus Christ and those who continue living sinfully, even the Christians who don’t want to repent will face the same fate, so please repent beloved people, in Lord Jesus Christ’s mighty and precious Name, Amen.

@@hillarysudeikis2264 34Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. 35One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: 36“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”
37Jesus replied: “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ c 38This is the first and greatest commandment. 39And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ d 40All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Then does Jesus not say ,John 13:34. Matthew 7:1 How about this for the reason we judge as you are saying, Matthew 23:4. If you’ve spent any time studying that Bible verse, you know that when Jesus said, “Judge not that ye be not judged,” he wasn’t saying that we can’t evaluate whether someone’s choices are wrong.
That is all I read, I think Judging is a sin?

@@tomsato6256 yes, that’s exactly what He was saying, we can critique, evaluate and distinguish between right and wrong, you’re correct, however Matthew 7:1-5 is about hypocritical judgement and self righteousness, it isn’t about discerning between right and wrong. When we love our neighbours we make sure to warn them of the dangers of sin, the Bible says sin leads to hell, and the love warns. We must warn those in sin and we too must repent from sin, dear soul. I’m glad you believe the word of God. ✝️❤️

@@hillarysudeikis2264 Salvation is for everyone. God's judgment is for everyone. We are not an instrument of God's Judgment for the non-believers.
For the non-believers, we are a beacon calling believers to the Light and Living water that resides in Christ Jesus. We can do this not by judging but by encouragement to hear God's word through the bible. Then as they become Jesus Christ's followers, God will convict in their hearts of their sins. (My, Tom Sato sins)

@@tomsato6256 Yes, you are correct, we are not an instrument of God’s judgement (condemnation/damnation) but we are called to judge actions several times, John 7:24 says to judge righteously, Lord Jesus told Peter to judge in Luke 7:43, and many other places in scripture tell us to judge. We must obey the word of God, and warn them, dear Tom. We are a beacon of hope to the lost, and that means we must tell them that there is hope in Lord JESUS, they don’t have to continue being slaves to sin and demonic oppression, they can be set free by the Son of God and they can be slaves of righteousness and holiness and go to Heaven and get plenty of rewards including a mansion for all eternity living in God’s dwelling place ❤️💜🔥✝️, but if they continue living in sin then they well reap the wages of sin which is death (hell). Remember that God convicts us through His word, that’s why Lord Jesus said “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.” John 17:17. He also said, “Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.” Luke 16:29, (Moses and the prophets refers to the Bible), this was after the rich man in hell asked for father Abraham to go back to the world of the living to tell his brethren who were sinners about hell.
      Luke 7:43
“Simon answered and said, I suppose that he, to whom he forgave most. And he said unto him, Thou hast rightly judged.”
Also, this is out of curiosity, may I ask if you’re Japanese? I noticed that your last name is Sato.
