I mean the stickers are all new. One of the reasons I just bought a '20 over a '19 That generation has also been around for four full years now, so I can't see how it lost 7lbs over 2019. Also, you think it has 84lbs worth of fluids? come on now. It's 430 wet at best. I'm only 1:24 into this review and this is where I'm grousing already. hopefully it gets better.
@@daniellekoran7906 You never know what a manufacturer considers for dry weight. Triumph lists the 765 Street Triple at 366# dry. That bike is around 417# or so wet. So besides gas and other fluids, what is being counted and what isn't?
The extra weight on the Speed Triple really helps keep it planted when it’s windy. The power differential between Speed Triple and the Street Triple is very obvious (painfully obvious when you try to switch back to the Street Triple). The back handles well and sounds great. The cruise control is next level luxury/fun and you will find yourself riding hands-free while pretending you’re flying fairly frequently LOL. However, because of the high power and torque the quick shifter is not very smooth in first, second, and third gear but you will learn the proper rpm range to make it smooth after some practice (the higher the RPMs, the smoother the shift). The bike has terrible wind protection and really needs the aftermarket wind screen to make it tolerable for longer rides. The seat is definitely a bit stiff and needs to be broken in, but should have been made more cushy. There’s a big cord that sometimes obstructs the Tft screen, but the screen’s position is adjustable. Any more questions, just ask: I’ve owned the 2020 Speed Triple RS for a year now and my buddy has owned the 2018 Street Triple RS for two years now.
Thank you! Why did you sale it ? You don’t own one now right ? Besides that what are the yearly maintenance costs ? I want one but I’m a bit hesitant beautiful bike hehehe
@@Champion2Manager I didn’t sell it, I still own it. The yearly maintenance costs are pretty cheap and basic: oil changes every 3,000-5,000 miles, chain lubes (ideally every 1,000 miles) 600 mile break-in service, and then 9,000 mile valve adjustment.
Great video fantastic bike I have a triumph speed triple rs and the answer to your question is the heated grips are a extra but love the triumph street triple rs hoping to take a demo out next year stay safe looking forward to next one 🇬🇧👍🏻
I would say the Speed Triple is a good street bike but a Street Triple is good for street and track. You would enjoy the nimbleness of the Striple in the twisties or the track. More to come!
I almost feel bad for saying it weights 500 now.. No wonder it felt light (not as light as Striple) and flickable. Triumph did a great job! MT10 feels a lot heavier.. surprised!
If this speed triple were available in my country I would buy it over the ST3. That ohlins setup as well as the engine is just totally worth the weight upsize
@@davidebbs2797 I sure hope so! I've been refreshing motorcycle news pages since I fist heard about the redesigned Speed Triple RS in August :D I just wish they will release it in the spring (it they even actually release it in 2021) because due to certain reasons I already spent the last summer without a bike and simply cannot wait that long, I want a bike as soon as the snow melts :D
I like everything about mine but the suspension is too stiff and wants to stand up all the time on bumpy Roads. Come spring I'm taking a trip to KAIS to get it sorted for deep joy in summer!
I’m in the same place with a 2017 Ninja 650. Love the bike, just looking for something a little more refined eventually. My wish list is: bigger gas tank, all LED lights, factory heated grips.
Hello really compliments for your complete analysis. Can I ask you a comparison between speed triple 1050 rs and Ktm duke 890 R? i tested the Triumph and is really fantastic, an incredible sound, very good quality, good style. But probably Ktm is lighter, i hope to test also duke 890.
I bought a 2020 on Tuesday. Love the bike but my display layout looks different than the one in this video. I haven’t played around with the different menu functions yet so I assume the display can be changed to different looks.
Does the triumph 1050rs come standard with heated grips or not? about to pull the trigger. And does the 1050 rs come standard with slipper AND blipper clutch?
hey boys i just got a 2020 Speed S... going to pick it up on saturday. I moved up from a 2018 street RS, anything i should know beforehand? im hoping the weight isnt that much of a difference. ive ridden my cousins s1000r which is similar in weight and that was fine so i figure itll be negligible at best. really lookin forward to the extra ooomph when twisting that throttle.... cheers and safe riding boys!!!

# Very useful, sensible and helpful review. , drive daily to work in the city and also the highway( Commuting) and sometimes during a weekend round of recreational, Is this bike good enough and usually commuting friendly? so, which one? don't like Adventure such an engine, love Naked bike & sport tour bike so what is your opinion? Speed or Street triple? it worth it? is €4000 more expensive?? or use Speed a new Street..... Any way great video Be safe & enjoy it
@@Brookmanrider As you likely know, the real feeling of power comes from torque. The Speed RS has WAY more torque + at much lower revs. The Street RS only has 58 ft/lbs @ 9,350 RPM...the Speed RS has 86 ft/lbs @ only 7,150...that's 48% more torque, at 24% lower revs. And the Speed RS' 463lb wet weight is only 11% (46lbs) more than the Street RS' 417lb wet weight. Dunno where PetroHead gets 55lbs from. So, you'd certainly notice 48% more torque - at 24% lower revs - from a bike that only weighs 11% more than the Street RS.
2020 version completely revamped, really? The 2021 model will be completely revamped to meet Euro 5 - Even rumoured to be getting rid of the under seat exhausts. The 2020 model has basically had some lipstick added to clear stock.
