    You have a nice car man dont get disappointed. Everything you have on there I wish I had on my car. I think if you had drag radials on there maybe it would hook better and get you better times. I'm just glad you are trying new things and posting new videos

      Alonso Arellano thanks man. I appreciate that. And yea now that i got the red car up, i can start playing with the 1LE. I was bummed because I thought it could do better 🤷‍♂️

    I really enjoy your channel. Keep posting and sharing. I also have a 2017 Camaro SS 1LE. You and I have the same goal which is to make the car a great road course car. I'm taking a different path to gaining more power then you did but hey...to each their own in that if you meet your personal goals then that's all that matters. My plan is to keep the car naturally aspirated. With just a cold air intake, Kooks headers and Borla exhaust I'm dyno'd at 437 rwhp 438 rwtq. My goal is 530 rwhp. I have all the parts just waiting for the speed shop to finish up a few other cars. Just to share, I bought the MSD Atomic Air Force intake, ported Jet throttle body, Brian Tooley Racing Stage 2 cam and GPI ported heads. From all the research I have done and talking to multiple performance shops, we all feel that those additional parts should get me another 100 rwhp. So again 530 or so rwhp.
    Like you, I took my car to the strip how it currently is and I know you don't care what anyone else is running but again, I'll just share. Here's what I did. 60' 1.968, 1/8th 8.041, 1/4 mile 12.313 @ 115.67. I'm here in Jersey so winter has set in so I won't be able to get my car to the road course until late April but I'm anxious to see how the new parts and power add up on the course.
    Looking forward as always to your next 1LE video. Merry Christmas!

    Drag racing is a lot harder than most people think, especially with a manual!

    • @Owens_Racing
      @Owens_Racing 3 роки тому +1

      What people don’t grasp it’s one thing to make a pass and run 12’s in a car capable of 10’s. It’s takes skill to make a car run a proper number for its power and weight. (Manual always requires driver skill. Auto set up right a monkey can make decent hits)
      Edit: I’d auto swap my car tomorrow if wasn’t so damn expensive. Autos are consistent and typically faster. Converters are magical.

    The track time is not terrible of course you can get more out of it. I never tracked mine. You will eventually get it to where you want it to be. I like the cam it sounds good you did a great job on the build and your son.Everything takes time and money. You will definitely gain subscribers when you do the work on the supercharged 1LE.💥🚀

  • @TacticalGarage
    @TacticalGarage 6 років тому +2

    Dan, did you log any data, curious what your IATs were? The canned Whipple tune starts pulling timing at 125 degrees. Best trap speed I have seen with the stock 2016 SS except the Whipple, drag radials and canned tune is 123.6 mph at 138 degrees IATs, in DA of over 4,200. Drag radials would definitely help. Hard to compare with mine being an A8, but with drag radials and a 1.6 60ft, I have run 11.17.

    • @RegularGuyGarage
      @RegularGuyGarage  6 років тому

      Rob, I did not. I completely forgot my HP Tuners at home. I was expecting 124-125mph

    Badass car man! My Bolt-on E85 A10 19 SS ran 12.6 at 5,500ft DA on stock 275 rears tires. My MPH was lower at 113 range. Getting practice, playing with the tune, and on drag radials I bet you would be 10s all day. Seems like that’s not your goal though and I’m sure ya had fun. Thanks for sharing great vid 👍🏻 BTW have to go with the cam chop for exhaust note

    A 10.5 tire and a good launch around 5500 it'll run a decent number, seat time is the most important thing but that's with any racing. I'm liking the 02 more, I'm not much on the new body style, but I'm old school. Hell it's taking me this long to just start liking F-bodies,lol.

    Put some sticky tires on that car in some cool air and it will be a whole different animal. That track has come a long ways since I used to race my 67 Camaro out there back in my 82nd ABN days 1991-94, it was only 1/8 mile track back then.

    I don't have much money... But I am saving up and I want to build a street Chevy S10 ls motor with nitrous, but I've never been in a high hp car before, just a 98 sn95 mustang that felt so gutless, so will my s10 feel gutless without nitrous on the street? What's your opinion, if so then I might go the supercharger route. I'm looking at 600 to 700 wheel with a dual or triple stage nitrous setup just for adjustability....nitrous isn't cheap xD and I'm looking at 30 grand I'll go 40 for extra add ons. Oh and btw, your car did pretty great with the tires you had, a set of bias plys with that sick shifting... And I'll also be fabing up the frame with a 4 link and what not, so I'm pretty sure it's realistic

      My buddy has a chevy s10 xtreme with a ls1/t56. Stock motor with full exhaust. Its a quick car for sure but still slower than my stock 2017 mustang gt. His s10 weighs about 3300 my mustangs about 3700. His truck is definitely fun as hell though. Hed smoke me with nitrous but me with a blower he wouldnt stand a chance

    so with slicks its an 11.6 car

    • @rotor13
      @rotor13 3 роки тому

      Nah, with his power he should easily be close to a 10.9. My 2019 SS with the 10spd is running 11.6 with just a set of slicks. No mods. If I added a whipple and supporting mods I would easily be running 10's.
      My previous car was a 2016 Mustang GT with a VMP Stage 2 blower kit and was running 10.7's@128mph with an auto.
      The problem with manual trans cars is that they're harder to launch and on Camaro's, you'll easily break an axle with a slick. So he'll need to get beefy axles and an upgraded clutch if he's going to be serious about launching the car.
      But its a 1LE - he should be taking it to a circuit track anyway.

  • @Dolby109
    @Dolby109 6 років тому

    A 2002 Camaro would have had an aluminum block LS, unless it was swapped with a truck engine.
    As for the drag strip, unless you have spent a lot of time there I wouldn't worry much. People always do pretty bad their first time out, esp with a manual. And a small amount on the short end has a big effect on the total ET. It doesn't look like you did bad, but more practice will net better results.
    Also if you didn't last time, pop your hood while you are in the waiting line. Since you are not moving like on the street a lot of heat can build up and heat soak the engine bay, not to the point of overheating but it could loose a bit of power.

    • @RegularGuyGarage
      @RegularGuyGarage  6 років тому

      Dolby109 original block had a broken rod and chunk missing out of the block. I built an iron block 5.7L Gen III LS. There’s a playlist with all the vids on my page.

    Dude you make no sense, first you said you dont drag race and you aren't that good,second you said your tires are worn,third you didn't have the car in the correct setting for drag racing, so how is it the cars fault? That car is more than capable, put some drag radials on it and let a friend that can drag race a manual car drive it,and I guarantee you will be impressed!

    • @rotor13
      @rotor13 3 роки тому

      He's not blaming the car, he's blaming himself.
      He even said its his first time taking it to the track so of course he's not gonna just do a John Force burnout and click off a 10.5@135 from the hit.
      That shit takes practice. Even more practice that its a manual trans and he's risking breaking axles if he tries to do a hard launch on some drag radials.
