These are great and I can see the profit potential in them. You are such a wonderful person to share so much with us as you do. Thank you Steve 😊!!! Can't wait for the other videos!
I love the soap dishes, the one with the pansy is my favorite. However love the glitter myself 😉 Thank so much for sharing your resin craft with us and all your great tips! I think the series of best selling items will be fantastic!! Can't wait to see them !! Blessings❤
We have these soap dishes in several places for hair/Bobby pins & clips, change, keys and all sorts of things. Even in my art room on the desk for little stuff that seems to disappear lol Thanks for sharing your beautiful art pieces 🌹🌹🤩. It’s always a pleasure to watch you.
New here to your channel and LOVE what you do!!! You are my kind of sparkle! You truly do bring joy to your crafting community... One handful of glitter and resin at a time! lol =)
LOVE THIS!! I help my cousin make soap and got into resin recently to make soap dishes. Love your videos, they've been great help! Was excited to see this one today! 😊
Thanks for sharing these!!! They are so pretty.... You have a wonderful eye for beauty. And your tip about the pipette for the rim, along with the glitter will be useful to many of us. Stay safe, you do you, & stay crafty!! 👍👍🔔🔔🦋🦋
They both came out really nice. A lovely splash of glitter for any bathroom or guest bathroom. Thanks for another interesting video Steve. God bless you and those you love, now and always.
I don't (yet) do resin and I'm not planning on doing it for a very long time (though I really hope to get around to it, it's just that I already have my other mediums and planned projects), but I love your videos and how selling oriented they are! I used to struggle with the concept of selling my work and seeing your attitude helps with aspects of that difficulty, so thank you! ❤️
infinitely wise not to try resin before you finish other mediums/projects you had in mind. I didn't do that - I saw it, I got it and now I'm drowning in molds! 😅
I can't find the video you posted - I watched it within the last week or so but I have no idea when you "put it up". I can give you an idea of the content and my question though so hopefully you can let me know the Steve McDonald nugget of info that I'm trying to find. The video was focused on making resin trays and incorporating temporary tattoos into the design. Brilliant! Thank you for that (and much more!)! I caught a glimpse of one of your nearly finished trays - it had fine lines inside from the embossed details on the mold. I couldn't make out the details of the embossed surface until you wiped/sponged something white over the those fine lines. Then the fine lines popped. Can you let me know what product you used? If you mentioned it on the video I missed. Thanks in advance and thank you for sharing you wealth of resin craft and small business logistics knowledge. I don't know if I'll ever be able to go into business for myself but I'm sure enjoying the ride ☮💚
They came out gorgeous! My daughter and I started making our own soap a few months ago so I just ordered the molds for these and I’m really excited. She’s going to be so surprised. Thank you so much for your awesome videos, techniques and helpful hints. I love your channel👍❤️😍
As a newbie to both your channel and to using resin can you or someone please tell me if just watching all your amazing tutorials on this channel will give me enough knowledge of what brand of resin is best to use, how to use it correctly, and how to best sell resin pieces to start a small business or side hustle? Or is that what his patron/membership does? I know it might sound weird to ask in one fell swoop how to even make the darn resin pieces AND then how to best sell them but I am somewhat crafty and desperate right now! LOL And sometimes desperate times can bring about forms of creativity and hustle you otherwise wouldn't discover about yourself! Thanks in advance for any info!
Hi Steve, using a lighter doesn’t damage the mold or burn the resin? If I’m understanding you correctly, the torch is hotter than flame? I love watching your channel and learning how to try my hand at making money from my craft. Thank you for sharing your knowledge! 😊
HI Steve, Really loved your end results 👍 so pretty thanks for sharing Steve, please can you tell me when you have Dried your flowers 🌺 how long will they last & what sort of container do you store them in All the best Lin 👍✨
I think the only thing I wish those had, were drainage areas for the water. If only because water will end up sitting in them. They're absolutely gorgeous though! I might have to look into those molds, and see if I can figure out how to make drainage for them myself. ^^
Hi Steve, what was the actusl name of the clear resin you used? The UK website you gave says they are not accepting orders at the moment so I'm wondering if I could buy it somewhere else. Loved the video. Many thanks 😊
Steve, have you considered that some people do Not like their name published online? Perhaps, just use first name and just initial for the last name. I do like those molds. Thanks for all the great videos.
Thank you for sharing Steve. These soap dishes are lovely. I have a question though, is there any way to prevent dried flowers from soaking up the resin, creating what look like water damage spots?
@Sheila Wolfe Wow, good question! You have the little squirrel cages in my brain going... 😄. Glue is too wet... Hairspray? A thin coat of UV resin? I use tons of it, so I'll give that a whirl.
@@fairyspunfibers9098 I have tried mod podge, K-mar spray varnish (flowers blew everywhere!), clear nail polish, and UV resin...sigh. All worked to some degree with various results, but all were time consuming and messy. If there were some way to keep them from blowing around , spraying would be the most effective and quickest method. I'm all ears to any suggestions. 😉
@Sheila Wolfe Hi, Sheila! Well...there went my brilliant ideas! :snicker 😅 Temp solution... Blue Tac (sp?) stuff to gently stick the flowers onto, spray, dry, flip, repeat? Any kind of spray would eventually gunk up whatever you used, though. Air dry clay might work, instead (cheaper). Would some of the flowers stick onto a soft silicone mat long enough to hold them for a quick spray? Honestly can't think of anything else right now...no sleep!
first and foremost I'd like to thank you for not only being a inspiration and a teacher, but also for recommending JDiction. I have not used it yet (just got the package a hr ago) As soon as I opened the box; I saw they sent me the resin, gloves, and mixers (which was expected) But what surprised me is they also sent me a mat and a coaster mold. That was really nice of them!! Because you recommend JDiction so highly I took advantage of Prime Day and got it! :) THANK YOU very much Steve. Have a wonderful day
I have a question. Every time I put sparkles or anything in my resin, they all fall to the bottom. How do I get it to stay Suspended all the way through? Like a bracelet, I don’t want it to fall all the way to the bottom. Thank you I really enjoy your videos. I got my dad into doing resin and we only use a Jdiction resin.
Mix the resin and let it sit for about 10-20 minutes before you mix in the glitter, depending how chunky it is. If you're not using ultra fine resin glitter, it will fall quickly if the resin is too liquidy.
How can I get rid of or at least reduce the amount of bubbles in my resin? I've tried hot water baths, using silicone to stir instead of wooden sticks, and I still get bubbles. Is there any resin you recommend?
@Cracked Porcelain Doll I have found that bubbles abound in most of the cheaper resins, sadly. It is nearly impossible to get rid of all of them. I am sticking with JDiction, for now. 😉 There are other wonderful resins that I can't get, such as Platinum (Aus) or Resin Pro (UK), as I live in the U.S. I was told that a vacuum chamber works amazingly well, as it gets rid of all air bubbles, whereas a pressure pot only squishes them down to microscopic size. If the pressure is released prematurely (before curing is mostly complete) the bubbles will reappear. However, I'd probably go with whatever I could afford most easily (I have neither!). Best of luck!

Do you not need a few holes at the bottom , for water collection
Hello, how much can you sell these soap dishes for in the US? Thank you!
When I use UV resin does it still need more curing time after I take it out from under the UV lights?

Do your flowers loose colour after a few months in resin ?
I used mica chameleon powder in some of my molds and they lost their shine! Is this normal?
