Just finished running my Gen3 in. The addition of cruise control & the comprehensive electronics package have finally put the big 'Busa ahead of the previously class-leading ZZR1400. The lower torque curve make for a far more practical bike, the excellent seat means emptying a tank before the need to stretch the legs is possible, oh, it does in the mid to high 40s mpg. Add in the stability from such a long wheel-frame, and its incredible engine and I for one am not disappointed. This is my 6th Hayabusa, and by far the best all-round package of the lot.
Nice review of an iconic beast. I couldn't remotely justify buying one but I really like it. Makes me chuckle when people say this version is rubbish because it's less powerful before they've even ridden it.
People who chase numbers, probably don't really ride to any level! A peak figure at a level you rarely reach is worth less than consistent power all the way through!
Really good review, very comprehensive. 👍 I've had mine for two weeks and loving it. Handling is much sharper and sportier than I expected, I believe Suzuki sharpened up the steering angle this generation.
12 month update What a first year on my gen 3 Hayabusa. I can happily report back that this bike is absolutely fabulous for what I want and need it for which is generally long distance day trips. Warwickshire to Dorset being my usual run to visit family, and it does these 400 mile days with ease, and in comfort. I rarely stop for a break on the way there other than to refuel (I'm getting 50mpg on a run). On the way home I will stop for fuel and usually to stretch my legs for 5 minutes before I join the M40 from the A34. I quickly got used to the higher pegs which some reviewers have mentioned as being uncomfortable, but do need to replace the stock screen as it directs the airflow right at my face meaning it makes it impractical to crack the visor open at anything above @20mph. So much power there is never really any need to pin the throttle open. Indeed I would go as far as saying it wouldn't really be possible to do so in any gear for more than a few seconds or you'll be doing 'go to jail' speeds. Cruise control is a godsend, and easy to use, and the noise from the engine is sublime. Incidentally, I haven't wasted thousands on an aftermarket exhaust as I see no point whatsoever wasting money to free up "a few more horses" that no normal rider needs or would use. In 2024 I am considering a week long trip, possibly the NC500, possibly The Pyrenees. After much deliberation on changing it for an ADV (anything BUT a GS) I have decided the big bad 'Busa is more than capable of what I will need a machine to do, so it won't be leaving my company any time soon. Hope this helps anyone considering buying one of these extremely competent bikes.

Thanks for the review. It’s a big, warp-speed docile assassin. And that’s the problem. Great review Mark. Beautiful machine . Seems intimidating in the numbers, but, as soon as I see how you drive it, I don’t know , it’s seems to be quite docile. Thanks for that video !
Some great one liners mark, a bomb could go off and this thing wouldn't wobble, and wow its like being strapped to an excocet missile. Brilliant review as ever mark made me chuckle 😄..
I have a Honda VTR1000F. It's great, it really is, especially 2 up with my 11 yr old daughter. I saw the Hayabusa at the local dealer, 2 yrs ago - and it is way more beautiful in the flesh than any photo's! I'd kind of love one, if not for the fact that I just love wringing the neck of my other halves's 2001 sv650s. I'm at the time of life where 120mph is all the excitement I need!
IDK. Glad Suzuki has kept making the Hayabusa and that you've test ridden it albeit 13 miles and shared your thoughts, but would say a lighter bike, just as fast be better e.g. BMW S1000RR or SDR 3.0 or a Fireblade or indeed an old Honda Blackbird? Dunno. I think some one would really have to want a big heavy bike like this in spite of how fast it is. As you say Suzuki have made a really nice job of the dash. 10/10. I notice you had your knee sliders on. Did you manage to get your knee down on it? Of course you wouldn't have included that footage in this video or indeed even want to admit it!
Hi Alex ...no knee down on this expensive beast ! That was a few track days on other bikes a few years ago :) The test ride I did is actually about 50 miles couple of hours ,in total ...lots of behind the scenes stuff you don't see to do these videos...the dual carriageway section and the town section is on the way back to the dealership so I stich that in when I edit the video Cheers mark
@@markpulling12 Thanks for your explanation. Only joking about getting your knee down when test riding this Hayabusa. Would be good to see a track day video from you if you still do these?
Hi Mark. Great review as always. I've only had my 2021 suzuki hayabusa gen 3 with 850 miles on the clock and I'm struggling a little with the bi directional quick shifter On the down shift using the blipper should the throttle be completely closed or left slightly open? Thank you Lee
Mark you lucky man ! ! earlier in the week the new naked GSX1000 now this missile ! ! Well, some guys have all the luck with the fast moving two wheeled Ladies. Although this one makes me rather think of a weight lifting one. Thanks for another good video Mark :)
@FalconMe nothing wrong with the 1st gen 3, I wasn't sure about the paint finish being the silver matt finish, so I bought a 23 model in the storm grey gloss. Just a personal thing that's all.
Hello Mark hope you're well. Your reviews are consistently getting better and are enjoyable to watch. This bike wouldn't be for me as it is far to powerful but I'm glad Suzuki make it.
Don't be put off by the power Nigel. It's only as fast as you want it to be, and is a real pussycat. The long wheelbase, comfy seat, and the electronic package (I set it to maximum intrusion so I don't wheelie) make this a consummate biking experience...
I think the name HAYABUSA was coined when the japanese test rider on the race track accelerated it on 1st gear at high revs & got surprised w/ the power he shouted "haaaayaaaaaaa!" then immediately crashed into a wall of tires that made a sound like "boooozzzaaaa!" hence the name HAYABUSA. 😀😁😂🤣😃😄😅😉 Again as usual, another excellent review from you mate! Im surprised you could still talk while moving at those very high speeds.. Ride safe & stay safe Mark! 👍👍👍
9:40 Love how at 60mph, its barely doing 3k rpms. The bike is sleeping. For folks that have self control the hayabusa looks like an all arounder outside of offroad
Best realistic content ever. I am about 5ft 8'' and always does this when I am on a bigger bike. I am concerned about my height as am looking forward to buy Busa, thinking that it will not be suitable for a guy like me. This is the first time i have ever seen any Vlogger illustrates the reality aspects. Good work mate, respect from Australia🙂
@@markpulling12 I’m actually in the market for a new bike Mark. I haven’t been on a bike since June as that’s when a van pulled out on me! Ended up in an ambulance to A&E, though nothing broken-my lovely Ducati monster was a write off . Just waiting for the insurance and personal injury claim to come through. I sat on a Ninja1000sx in the Kawasaki Ruislip Manor on Tuesday and really like it. Hopefully get a test ride soon!
Terrific review Mark. I’ve owned both Gen 1&2 models in the past. I am warming to this Gen3 actually quite a lot but I’m unsure whether I will ever throw £16k into a new bike again. With today’s bad roads and congestion I spend most of my time sub 60mph and at those speeds pretty much any bike does the trick.
Yes Jon I know exactly what you mean.. with today's roads In total contrast I reviewed the humble little royal enfield meteor 350 £3800 and absolutely loved it ! Regards mark
@@markpulling12 A guy came tootling past my front gate on a blue one last weekend, it looked great TBH and now that I think about it I’ve seen a few dotted about so no doubt they are selling well. I can really see their appeal, especially at that price.
@@markpulling12 I fully understand where you are both coming from. At 59 I am lucky enough to have only a tiny mortgage so having just bought a V-Strom 1000XT i am also considering a gen 3 'Busa as they are just so addictive.
Thanks Mark. I have never ridden one of these sports bikes. I'm sure it's an experience... It's like the MT10, you have to be so careful with throttle modulation. Flickable is not really something these bikes were made for. Trained modulation. You did a great job of demonstrating that. I remember when I lived in Sarasota, FL back in 2000. The Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey Circus have had the winter home there for many many years. The circus people like bikes... and they ride high power sports bikes like they ride unicycles... on one wheel. One night while on my way home I saw this guy wheelie a big sports bike high on the real wheel. No big deal right? But then he stood on the saddle with one foot while doing his circus swan maneuver with both hands and a leg stretch out like a swan ready to land. Because he had no hands on the controls, I figured he was demonstrating the proper use of cruise control. Meanwhile I was wondering if he was going to crash or not. He didn't. He went several hundred feet down the road this way until he was satisfied that everyone else noticed him, before stealthily sliding back into the saddle, hands on the controls, then ease off the throttle and allow the front wheel to lower by about 20° before gunning it on one wheel to keep it off the ground. Yikes... clowns or circus performers... doesn't matter. Gord
@@markpulling12 Yes, Mark, and there's not really anyway to demonstrate that in a contained circus environment. Their balance and control is second nature to them... Gord
Hi, Mark another great review as always. The busa has always been my dream bike. I am 180cm tall and recently I sat on a 2007 Busa for the first, didn't have the possibility of riding it. But I found the leg position a little bit uncomfortable compared with my current gsx-s GT. My question is there any difference between the current model from the older one in that aspect or is pretty much the same?
Hi the hayabusa has always been a sporty position with quite a lean ...and yes they are both the same new and old tbh.....also check out the mighty zzr1400 or BMW k1300s Best wishes mark
Yes Mark, they should have. Instead they brought out the VFR 1200, a not insignificant bike in its own right. Brilliant all rounder spoilt by poor fuel consumption and heavy weight. As I’m getting on a bit, lightness now matters, and oldies like me just have to consider that.
Hey Mark, loving the review as always, I was wondering if you would ever do a review on the Kawasaki ZX10, I’ve been riding my ninja 400 for a while now and I was thinking of upgrading and having your input would really help, thanks and cheers!
This is an absolutely stunning bike but it's just way too easy to do silly speed in my opinion. You give it a handful and you lost your licence 😄 This bike is so powerful you can only use about 20% of its capability. As usual Mark the review is spot on 👌 Keep'em coming 😉
Now Kawi needs to add cruise the the ZX14R and a few cosmetic updates. I still love the ZX. Not sure what I think of these paint schemes and prices. Off topic, what "inexpensive" leathers would you recommend? I'm in the US, but am willing to order from EU. I've been looking at Berik there.
Love strong fast stable bikes...but i have become to logical and for the road 40-60 hp is the sweet spot...giving you enough power to weight to have real fun within the law and safe riding...
Point taken however I like the bigger more powerful engines. They have effortless power and so enjoyable. I like the easy power, a slight twist of the throttle when you are passing is all it takes.
@@markpulling12 Cheers ...had many big bikes but a 650 with 40+ hp allows overtakes and top speeds of 180km if opportunities present...I got tired of owning bikes of which i only used 20% of its power daily...overkill for the sane mind
Always a pleasure to watch your reviews. I was surprised to notice you only done 13 miles during the review. Must have been a long hour. I do like to check fuel gauges and miles during reviews to get a sense of the bikes fuel economy. Hope to see you make a second (maybe a long term) video of this stunning busa.
In terms of riding position, sporty but comfy for longer rides, this would suit me down to the ground. However, I don't need a heavy 200hp bike. It's too much power for the road. This, but 1000cc and 150hp would be my perfect bike.
It’s not the same , the stability and the torque are wonderful,no other bike gives you theses sensations and this feeling ,it’s unique Hi from Algeria 🇩🇿
@@markpulling12 thank you so much for the prompt response. Which one would you prefer, the fjr1300 or the Hayabusa? Thank you for assisting me in my motorcycle purchase. Keep producing these amazing videos.

That is a beautiful beast Mark but you need a lot of self control with all that power, things can go wrong very quickly. Enjoyed the review though I would never buy one.
I like what you’re doing for the seat height in the initial appraisal! I’m 5’10” & comfortably ride a ZX14R I do like the feet to ground mince around for assessment Ozzie Jim 👍🇦🇺
Those Battlax S22's will wear out ridiculously fast on a 264 kg behemoth (+ another 200 kg if you've got on a passenger) ... I bought my ZX6R (195 kg) in 2020, did 20,000 km with it so far and went through 3 pairs. Never had any passengers on. They truly are great cornering tyres with loads of grip, but they do not like the high ways. My guesstimate would be getting 3 to 4000 km tops out of a pair of tyres and that's if you respect the speed limits everywhere and avoid the highways at all costs. Otherwise, with a sporty riding style, you'll get 2 to 3K out of them at best.
i am on 5000km on them and i reckon will get couple more- never watch speed limits. But its too low anyway. Will probably get Pirelli Angel GT - got around 15k km from them on ZZR1400
nice review and brill vid :) I would sooner buy the non restricted 'T' reg GSX-1300R-X model...as my mate bought one new and after run in, got just under 220mph at the red line...he said about 217mph in his opinion :D beautiful looking bike tho :D
This model has grown on me I do prefer it without the pillion seat cover on actually, and as you say those humongous silencers are just to much very impressive machine great review I would not want to man handle it up and down a sloping driveway though . cheers : )
Small fuel tank, no paniers, no center stand, no heated grips, no adjustable electric windscreen, and no shaft drive. I don't need one, nonetheless, I want one.
Just not my sort of thing I'm afraid (though I've never ridden one). I get that they are popular and have a massive following but for me just a ballistic crotch rocket that you can't fully use on the road. Maybe I'm getting old but I don't think I could go touring on it and for a Sunday blatt I would choose something lighter and with more character or more nimble. If others love them though, fine, let's all just agree what fantastic choices we have these days.

Awesome review, as usual...Mark, keep up the great work my friend.
That was a few track days on other bikes a few years ago :)
The test ride I did is actually about 50 miles couple of hours ,in total ...lots of behind the scenes stuff you don't see to do these videos...the dual carriageway section and the town section is on the way back to the dealership so I stich that in when I edit the video
Cheers mark
@@markpulling12 Thanks for your explanation. Only joking about getting your knee down when test riding this Hayabusa. Would be good to see a track day video from you if you still do these?
Yet another great video Mark. I can see the attraction to these bikes, but they’re just not my cup of tea to look at.
Thanks Luke ..yes it's a monster for sure !
Hi Mark. Great review as always. I've only had my 2021 suzuki hayabusa gen 3 with 850 miles on the clock and I'm struggling a little with the bi directional quick shifter
On the down shift using the blipper should the throttle be completely closed or left slightly open?
Thank you
Lee
Hi Lee it should be completely closed cheers mark
@@markpulling12 thanks Mark
Mark you lucky man ! ! earlier in the week the new naked GSX1000 now this missile ! ! Well, some guys have all the luck with the fast moving two wheeled Ladies. Although this one makes me rather think of a weight lifting one. Thanks for another good video Mark :)
Thanks Pietro ....yes it's been a full on week !
Wow what a machine,il probably never own one but wouldnt mind a blast!🏍
Thanks Steven ....I'd definitely recommend a test ride !!
Lovely bike..on my 5th one now..this is my 2nd gen 3 and it's so nice..
What happened to the 1st gen 3?
@FalconMe nothing wrong with the 1st gen 3, I wasn't sure about the paint finish being the silver matt finish, so I bought a 23 model in the storm grey gloss. Just a personal thing that's all.
Greetings,
As always another brilliant detailed video 🇺🇸🍾🎉🇺🇸
Keep producing more videos
Many thanks 👍
My dreambike love it
Love it! Great review!
Great review!...Interesting view to see it ridden on the other side of the road...lol...Thanks for the POV!
My pleasure Muhammad :)
I think it's a spectacular looking bike, especially in the silver 👍
Thanks Glen 😌
Really good review. Thinking about getting one soon. 👍
Thanks Tony ... amazing bike . Late Xmas present for yourself ☺️
Cheers mark
An awesome machine everyone should experience opening up at least once!
Definitely Peter
Ithk it's a work of art Sir beautiful
awesome looking bike
I like it in the black and bronze
What a beast. Love it.
Thanks David ☺️
Looks like a quality machine......Sal : )
Thanks sal :)
Hello Mark hope you're well. Your reviews are consistently getting better and are enjoyable to watch. This bike wouldn't be for me as it is far to powerful but I'm glad Suzuki make it.
Thanks Nigel I had a 2003 model years ago great bike
Cheers mark
Don't be put off by the power Nigel. It's only as fast as you want it to be, and is a real pussycat. The long wheelbase, comfy seat, and the electronic package (I set it to maximum intrusion so I don't wheelie) make this a consummate biking experience...
Love and like for Hayabusa topic king of speed is back Hayabusa topic is love to watch
Again as usual, another excellent review from you mate! Im surprised you could still talk while moving at those very high speeds.. Ride safe & stay safe Mark!
👍👍👍
Thanks Jojo ...yes it takes some concentration :)
Thanks Arun :)
Finally got to sit on one this week in the showroom. Very comfy and very extreme on the riding position!
Thanks Richard yes it's quite a reach to the bars ... If you are looking for sport touring the new gsxs1000 gt is on the way :)
Glad to see that the rear radar dome is no more!
Yes Jon I know exactly what you mean.. with today's roads
In total contrast I reviewed the humble little royal enfield meteor 350 £3800 and absolutely loved it !
Which would u pick for overall, this vs the Suzi 1000GT??
1000 gt this has quite a lean on the riding position I prefer more upright these days cheers mark
Great review. Had a zzr1400 a few years ago and so effortlessly fast and stable. Swapped for a multi as more fun and versatile.
Thanks I had a 2003 busa and a zzr1400 for a while but these days prefer more upright bikes with power
Best regards mark
Gord
Thanks gord that sounds quite an act !!
@@markpulling12 Yes, Mark, and there's not really anyway to demonstrate that in a contained circus environment.
Their balance and control is second nature to them...
Gord
Thanks Mark : ) Great review as usual 👍..
Cheers Russell
Hi, Mark another great review as always. The busa has always been my dream bike. I am 180cm tall and recently I sat on a 2007 Busa for the first, didn't have the possibility of riding it. But I found the leg position a little bit uncomfortable compared with my current gsx-s GT. My question is there any difference between the current model from the older one in
that aspect or is pretty much the same?
Hi the hayabusa has always been a sporty position with quite a lean ...and yes they are both the same new and old tbh.....also check out the mighty zzr1400 or BMW k1300s
Best wishes mark
Yes Mark, they should have. Instead they brought out the VFR 1200, a not insignificant bike in its own right. Brilliant all rounder spoilt by poor fuel consumption and heavy weight. As I’m getting on a bit, lightness now matters, and oldies like me just have to consider that.
Hey Mark, loving the review as always, I was wondering if you would ever do a review on the Kawasaki ZX10, I’ve been riding my ninja 400 for a while now and I was thinking of upgrading and having your input would really help, thanks and cheers!
Hi ...they might put one on demo at Bournemouth Kawasaki . If they do I'll be right on it :)
Cheers mark
Perfect 1st bike.
Lolol
0- grim reaper in 3 s
This is an absolutely stunning bike but it's just way too easy to do silly speed in my opinion. You give it a handful and you lost your licence 😄
This bike is so powerful you can only use about 20% of its capability.
As usual Mark the review is spot on 👌 Keep'em coming 😉
My pleasure
Now Kawi needs to add cruise the the ZX14R and a few cosmetic updates. I still love the ZX. Not sure what I think of these paint schemes and prices. Off topic, what "inexpensive" leathers would you recommend? I'm in the US, but am willing to order from EU. I've been looking at Berik there.
Rst for value all the way :)
@@markpulling12 Thanks for the tip, found one great retailer in the US who carries them. Another option!
Frickin’ love it!
Thanks..me too !
Love that "planted" feel. How's the riding position? I'm looking for a sports tourer, will this be a day's riding comfort?
It's definitely good for a days riding .. it's a lean forward position but not as extreme as say a gsxr or r1
Cheers mark
Love strong fast stable bikes...but i have become to logical and for the road 40-60 hp is the sweet spot...giving you enough power to weight to have real fun within the law and safe riding...
Point taken however I like the bigger more powerful engines. They have effortless power and so enjoyable. I like the easy power, a slight twist of the throttle when you are passing is all it takes.
@@edwardt1941 each to there own
I like riding bikes of all powers 20 hp to 150 plus ....each one has its own character cheers mark
Yes the review was 13 miles but I did about 50 in total after the camera was switched off :)
Thanks mark
Just needs aftermarket exhausts, maybe bar raisers and a bubble screen
In terms of riding position, sporty but comfy for longer rides, this would suit me down to the ground. However, I don't need a heavy 200hp bike. It's too much power for the road. This, but 1000cc and 150hp would be my perfect bike.
Yes 150 hp is plenty ....the gsxs I rode the other day was spot on power
It’s not the same , the stability and the torque are wonderful,no other bike gives you theses sensations and this feeling ,it’s unique
Hi from Algeria 🇩🇿
I have a tuned Gen 1. I’d love a Gen 3 as well though 😁👍🏻
Thanks for the comment
Greetings Mark,

Hey mate , Which colour looks more good ? Black or silver ?
Definitely the black and gold :)
That is a beautiful beast Mark but you need a lot of self control with all that power, things can go wrong very quickly. Enjoyed the review though I would never buy one.
Thanks James ...yes you're over the limit in a mm of throttle !
Cheers mark
I like what you’re doing for the seat height in the initial appraisal!
I’m 5’10” & comfortably ride a ZX14R I do like the feet to ground mince around for assessment
Ozzie Jim 👍🇦🇺
Thanks Jim ...yes that's my USP !!

Can you get a ride on the new Vespa 300 HPE?
I'll keep an eye out Brian
This is the best Hayabusa color so far. Can’t fathom why did they discontinue this😢
Dream motorcycle
Thanks I'd go for Michelin pilot road 5s
i am on 5000km on them and i reckon will get couple more- never watch speed limits. But its too low anyway. Will probably get Pirelli Angel GT - got around 15k km from them on ZZR1400
Which would you choose between this and the Kawasaki H2sx SE?
Hi jeremy ...ooh tough choice ....probably this busa :)
love its big engine
@@markpulling12 Thanks I would agree - a tough choice. I
've ridden a Gen 3 and H2 SX SE +. Both fantastic bikes. Opted for an H2 SX this morning.

Definitely Steve ...so many fantastic bikes to choose from :)
