at last we have a proper sports tourer. I bought the H2 SX Se 3yrs ago, and was disappointed. then bought the new R1250rt rt, and was even more pissed. Can't wait to take delivery of this beautiful machine. Thank you Suzuki for keeping the sports tourer Alive. great review
Did you ever look at an R1200RS? I don't have BMW money, but if I was going for a high end sports tourer that's what I'd consider. Shaft drive, all the gizmos, bit bent over but not "assuming the position." Then again, I want 4 cylinders for the smoothness, especially at that size.
@@V742 I just sold my 1250rt, and even with the RS, problem was I just couldn't get used to that boxer motor. I tried very hard to like it (did 5k kilos in 2 months), but I missed the smoothness on an inline. And huge problem is the quicksilver...the worst on any bike. I can trade off lubbing the chain every 1000 kilos, for all that tech and smoothness. BMW should have not discontinued their k1300s....
@@jeremytucker9864 I had an H2 SX and the seat was very uncomfortable. Tank shape is also not for everybody, because it doesn't support the lower belly. If one finds it comfortable enough, it is an excellent bike with outstanding power.
I drag raced it against an H2 SX with 195rwhp. It walked away from the H2 until we let off at 150mph. But you don't feel that so much, because it doesn't scream like the 1000's, and you are stretched out horizontally over the long tank. First I could not believe the Busa won, but it actually does have more power all over the rev range until 9500 rpm, and a longer wheelbase as well. So this GT can still spank the new kids at times...
I owned a Gen2 Busa for 7 years and it was a great machine. Super powerful without being too intimidating. You could just put it in 4th gear and leave it there! No tap dancing on the gear lever like some bikes I have owned. May well consider a test ride on this new version to see what its like.
As an owner of a G1 Busa, I still can't get past how people don't see them as one of the best STs out there. Sport touring is in their nomenclature: GSX 1300R. GS - standard, GSX - sport touring, and GSXR - lose my license too fast. Quite an enjoyable video sir.
now that the hp /speed race is mostly over they SHOULD HAVE gone more in the direction of sport tourer. kept the power, put in all things a tourer needs and make riding position nicer..... keeping this mostly aggressive setup but not improving power sends a confused message.
At first, I was disappointed that Suzuki didn't go with forced induction or even hybrid electric technology but now, I can appreciate what they did here. The 'busa has never been the wildest lairiest super fast speed demon (see Kawasaki everything). It was always smooth, super fast and somewhat easy, like the Blackbird without bags and good mileage. I'm glad they didn't change it. If it ain't broke...
just got back from the mountains. i definitely got the ultimate riding experience. i dont know how it gets any better than that. also the quickshifter isn't so bad when you figure out the best way to use it. avoind going from 2nd into 1st with it. at any other downshift it works alright at speeds at less than 4500 rpm. shifting up is good in almost all situations. it is really smooth when using mode 2.
this is a review that has aged well. I've been considering trading my BMW K1600GT for a Hayabusa but was worried about being able to long distance it (500 plus miles days) your video has encouraged me to at least try one out.
well I was seriously looking at this bike, and they should take the 1300 R designation off and assign it a GT, because with a perfect driving record, late 40's. no accidents... this is $1350.00 USD a year for insurance, (top coverage of course), .... no can do...
I've seen a few dyno vids now. With just an exhaust, and no ecu tune etc, they are making 185+ at the wheel, and 115 lb/ft. They're stout. When the ECU is cracked I suspect they will be very close to 200whp with basic bolt ons.
Still searching for a replacement for my 94 VFR. It's currently on pause but I know some day something will break and I won't be able to replace what is broken. Being fast is nice, but I ride my VFR more often than my Harley for long distance trips (several hours one way). I really do prefer carbs to fuel injection though. So much more reliable with the years of experience I've had.
Just came across this video and the comments! Reminds me of a "kids today" tagline from old men who still think that Roger Bannister runs the fastest mile, and that Jimmy Saville was good! Move with the times old farts! As we move towards the death of the combustion engine - the Busa (any Busa) is a good investment! I have a Gen 3, a 2023 Fireblade, a Yamaha R1, a CB1000R, an XSR 900 and a 2022 Rocket 3 R. I also have a Supermeteor 650! The latter gives me smiles, the CB thou is the best alrounder (close to the XSR), the R1 and Fireblade are madness, yet uncomfortable, and my Rocket is almost there... My Busa is all of the things i love in all of my bikes - rolled into one... This isn't my real name on here, but I know bikes and have ridden beyon most of your boyish limits people! John, who is a part time DJ, drinks Guinness and rides for Honda!
Suzuki are known for having the best gearboxes🤷♂️ When they dynod this bike against the previous version it actually made slightly more bhp at the wheel👍
I had to look up the name change since you mentioned it but couldn't pronounce it. Gqeberha definitely sounds more exotic than Port Elizabeth. Not sure how that matches up to the reality. At least the Hayabusa is still a Hayabusa apparently, even it's it's gotten soft, old and a bit more high tech.
I own a Kawasaki Zx14R and was considering selling it for the new Hayabusa, but I have decided to keep the Kawi. The 'Busa isn't powerful enough to make me give up my Kawi. I find it rather disappointing, actually. I was expecting much more than what it is. I also own a 2007 'Busa, it will have to do the job for me.
People who don't want you to have fun and hate people who have fun and want control. You don't have any of that anymore because nobody had the balls to say no. You are free when you don't have to ask for permission.
I owned a 99 Busa and it was an awesome bike. Now I would much rather a more GT bike with taller bars, lower pegs and a luggage option, but with that sweet motor.
I cannot believe how large PE has become; a few moons since I have been there I must admit, however it has expanded greatly. Popular run ashore, at my last visit was a pub called the "Stage door" next to the theatre and a colonial hotel at the top of the hill where the the young lady's from the private school would congregate 😉
I really wain to see bike review channels do reviews with the bikes wearing the mods they have on the street full system ecu flash aftermarket trumpets and carbon wheels maybe but definitely a mega test with all bikes flashed full system and trumpets, The bikes are so restricted that these reviews are not even close to being relevant
“We don’t have that anymore”??????what utter nonsense!😂😂😂😂. What about the Kwacker H2, the Aprilia RSV4, the BMW S1000RR, the Yammy R1, the bonkers MT10 and Tuono V4, and of course the Busa itself? Ok, the Busa is a GT bike but always was, as was the Blackbird so that really hasn’t changed at all. These are just a few exceptionally fast and scary bikes all of which improve and refine their historical versions into something arguably better today. The only true thing from this vid is that the EU want to control everyone’s life right down to now indirectly persecuting those who want to ride hairy chested bikes or even those holding Christian values. If you want a hairy chested noisy bike without all the nanny controls then you have lots of choice used. For example, a great bike capable of high terminal speed and entertaining punch through the gears, yet stays reliable, is quite light and handles in the twisty bits and offers surprising comfort then go out and buy a naughties Aprilia RSVR Mille. No one’s forcing anyone to buy a new over inflated hyper-bike but for those in the market for one, the choice has never been greater…..ever.
The Gen I is old, totally outdated and over the hill so to speak. I owned a Gen I and currently own a Gen II and the difference is chalk and cheese. The Gen II handles better, looks better, is much more powerful and up to date right up until 2020. This Gen III carries on this tradition 👍
Beautiful and straight to the point, no one else has said that it's a GT bike and that's exactly what it is. Entire review in one line. Brilliant.
I like that they kept the analog dials. Nothing like a rev counter rushing towards the red. No digital unit can mimic that.

Love the white paintjob still an iconic motorcycle nothing else looks like the beautiful Hayabusa
It is still the best-looking bike in its class. I had a B-King for over seven years. Fantastic engine. GT is okay to me.
Awesome bike, great review, I could feel your excitement when you were twisting the throttle and the front wheel came up.
This is such a great channel. A proper TV program online. Great Video.
Rode all the generations. They have gotten better over the years. Gen iii finally fixed the brakes and suspension. ❤
Well said, they don’t want us to have fun. The EU emission standards have made many bikes lose their souls. As usual, great insight
Everything you said describing this bike is what I loved about my K1300S. Might have to give this old bird another look.
But this is reliable!
I love the white one. Best of the best!

How you getting on with it ?
Congrats! My first bike was a '03 Gixxer 1000, and my second an '08 Bust. Still regret selling it eight years later. Getting the white one.

Love the white colour ❤️. Suzuki is about refinement and value👍
I think the laughing says it all a great bike as all Hayabusas are😊😊
Do you still have to look through the screen to see the instruments?
Com'on Honda, bring on a updated Blackbird.

Epic bike, hope they can keep selling it in South Africa
Im sure if you swap the whale bazooka endcans with something more open and have it dynod it should make more power than the mk2 busa
But what if you do the same with the Mk2 Busa, remember, he's quoting factory specs
This new version actually makes a slight bit more power than the gen2 when it was dynod

Well priced compared with anything now.Thanks.
A two inch higher handlebar would really help the touring character
Could buy handle bar raisers
Could you imagine if Suzuki gave this a six cylinder engine, or borrowed the super charger tech from their partners, Kawasaki!
Yeh it wouldnt handle anymore, it wouldnt be this price and it wouldnt be what this is - a legendary bike just like the last two generations

Erm if it is GT what about GSX S1000GT?
I see you have a scorpion helmet. I have my second one and it seems to fit me best.
Beautiful bike and beautiful review !
I would have bought a Busa if they had made it taller (leg room) and with luggage. It remains the bike I always wanted, but would never buy.
Since the 1st gen it was always intended as a sports touring bike but because it goes as fast as a hyperbike those who ride it says its a hyperbike
I'm not sure why I found the beach scene so funny.... LOL

what about the lean angle limit ... maybe 50 ?
That's a different east London than the one I been to

If your ZZR is going strong , no need to change. Mine was getting a bit tired after 67k km, so i decided to get Hayabusa. And for the stunning looks.
But the Kawasaki are so ugly and dont handle anywhere near one of these
