You’re right, you don’t need to; unless if there’s something X870E has that you may want (for example USB4) or WiFi 7. That’s why I had a crosshair X670E on my old white build because it was one of the only ones that had USB4 despite it being all black. I’m glad X870 includes USB4 standard 🔥
also you can acidently limit your GPU PCIE lanes with the new x870 & x870e motherboards in comparison to the x670e where this wasnt the case. idk why but also good to bring up i think.
Why do we need to spend this much money on Prosseser? Intel and AMD need to more improve in 2024. Intel's prices are too high for their specs, while the Mac M4 offers great performance at a lower cost. An Intel computer of comparable quality to a Mac Mini M4 costs twice as much as a Mac Mini M4. AMD is not the ideal choice for video editing or Adobe software applications. In comparison, Intel and Nvidia perform well in these tasks.
Did you reuse your SSD from the previous mobo and cpu? Cause if that's all I need to retain my previous storage, copy of windows, games and what not, then I'm upgrading immediately!
Yes I reused the same SSD since it is already a boot drive and has all your info. The only thing to consider is reactivating windows. I purchase my windows 11 from Microsoft so it’s always tied to my account, but if you purchased a key, you should be able to reuse it. But yes, having an existing SSD makes it easier to switch 🔥 If you want to get a faster SSD, you could also clone your old SSD into the new one (you can do this before or after the new mobo)
How can you upgrade on a cpu thats being scalped on Ebay for $600 lol comon man you showing us all this build but its out of stock lol That you CANT GET TODAY UNLESS YOURE WILLING TO SPEND AN EXTRA $200 on top of retail price .
When it first launched they were going for like $900 🥲 I was able to pre order at B&H but they're backordered so they shipped it 4 days later. I would bookmark the links and/or sign up for stock alerts and you never know. Some might pay extra to get there hands on it, sucks, but it is an amazing gaming CPU
I got one 3 days ago on the best buy website. If you look at the stock alerts, it shows that they are available every other day. You just need to use a stock alert because they sell out quick. But they go in stock every other day on Best Buy, Newegg, Amazon and more.
WASTED YOUR MONEY, THE 7950X3D IS A BETTER CPU ! the x870 boards are damn nice, but few would want to pay nearly 500.00 for a motherboard, stick with a b650e or even an x670e ! As much money as you are throwing at your upgrade, WHY would you want to use such slow NVME sticks!? You would have been better off buying a Crucial T700 as your primary and have your data transferred from your 980 pro onto that. Another suggestion is a Corsair MP700 or even an Acer Predator stick, you would be waaaay more happy using that ! FYI - I have been using 4 sticks of ram, zero issues ! If you stay with the EXPO settings and not blow your overclock out of the water you will be fine! If you want faster speeds then go with the 8000 MT ram !
I know 7950x3D is a 16-core beast vs the 8-core 9800x3D; I got it simply because it is the best gaming CPU right now and to create content on it. My black PC is used only for gaming content. My white Vision has a 9950X, so I would wait for 9950x3D to upgrade (for better gaming performance). This video is more for those that want to switch or upgrade to this chip with new x870 boards. You’re right that x870(E) boards are expensive, but they do have great features that might be worth it (for example USB4), and DIY friendly design. You don’t need to update bios right away. There are cheaper X870 boards ($300); if you got the money and don’t mind, why not :) The B650 are going to be replaced with B850 soon
In response to throwing money; For those that have money to afford, the idea of a waste is in my opinion thrown out the window no matter what you want to buy. I buy it because I’m a content creator who wants to make these type of videos to hopefully help others that want to switch. For the RAM; I said that using 2 dimms is going to provide better stability and faster clock speeds WITHOUT overclocking. Sticking 4 dimms automatically reduces to 3600MT/s, and over clocking becomes tricky since it may or may not work. Using 2 dimms, the 9800x3D guarantees 4800Mt/s. On my 9950x, it’s even higher 5600 MT/s. I’m glad you were able to overclock 4 dimms, but for most out there, doing that with 4 sticks is trial and error. I do eventually want to switch to PCIe 5.0 SSD, gonna see if a brand will sponsor one 😏
X870 and X870E were designed to be released alongside 9000 series CPUs which are marketed as "9000 ready" so no need for update. All other boards would need a BIOS update

You’re right, you don’t need to; unless if there’s something X870E has that you may want (for example USB4) or WiFi 7.
That’s why I had a crosshair X670E on my old white build because it was one of the only ones that had USB4 despite it being all black. I’m glad X870 includes USB4 standard 🔥
also you can acidently limit your GPU PCIE lanes with the new x870 & x870e motherboards in comparison to the x670e where this wasnt the case. idk why but also good to bring up i think.
update your BIOS for your X3D
You're hilarious you kicked out Asus and replace it with MSI😂
Why do we need to spend this much money on Prosseser?
Intel and AMD need to more improve in 2024. Intel's prices are too high for their specs, while the Mac M4 offers great performance at a lower cost.
An Intel computer of comparable quality to a Mac Mini M4 costs twice as much as a Mac Mini M4.
AMD is not the ideal choice for video editing or Adobe software applications. In comparison, Intel and Nvidia perform well in these tasks.
nope sticking with intel. Less issues.
Sarcasm ? 🤔😅
again this world is not fair
I DID UPGRADE IN 15 MIN 7800X3D TO 9800X3D AND 4090
🔥 awesome upgrade ! What GPU did you have before the 4090
what aio is this?
2024 Kraken Elite 360 🔥
Literally did all this yesterday. Upgraded to Asrock nova WiFi x870e and 9800x3d
Great combo 🔥 How's the 9800x3D treating you 😏
Did u have to update bios first? I just ordered a x870e crosshair hero and 9800x3d and not sure if it needs bios update first.
too much paste?
Probably, 9800x3D running way too cool 🥶 jokes aside, there's so many ways to apply thermal paste so I went with the X
But yes, having an existing SSD makes it easier to switch 🔥
If you want to get a faster SSD, you could also clone your old SSD into the new one (you can do this before or after the new mobo)
@@FIREWOLFTECH Solid advice my man, I appreciate it.
@DawzzBawzz I got you 🔥
How can you upgrade on a cpu thats being scalped on Ebay for $600 lol comon man you showing us all this build but its out of stock lol That you CANT GET TODAY UNLESS YOURE WILLING TO SPEND AN EXTRA $200 on top of retail price .
Congrats on getting one 🔥
Why do u content creators always like to show off ur builds🙄why dont u guys start giving them away to ur subs🤷🏽♂️..im not subd to u either
Yeah i wanted to upgrade right now, AMD still make jokes about it....still no 9800X3D Available in europe...f*yu AMD
If you can’t afford it just say that
I know 7950x3D is a 16-core beast vs the 8-core 9800x3D; I got it simply because it is the best gaming CPU right now and to create content on it.
There are cheaper X870 boards ($300); if you got the money and don’t mind, why not :)
The B650 are going to be replaced with B850 soon
@@driftwizeits not about money. hes saying wtv he got isnt even necessary…
In response to throwing money;
For those that have money to afford, the idea of a waste is in my opinion thrown out the window no matter what you want to buy.
@ I should have worded it more like this, this is what i was trying to say👍
There's another incident about 9800x3d and MSI MB, they burn out
Don't you need to update the BIOS for the 9800X3D? Or do all X870 Boards come with updated bios?
This is X870E so you don’t need to. If you already have X670(E) or B650(E) motherbords you need to update BIOS.
@themarketgardener so only x870e motherboards don't need to update? What about x870 non e?
@@themarketgardener thanks. I got the number wrong. I was referring to X870. Does that apply to the regular X870 as well??
X870 and X870E were designed to be released alongside 9000 series CPUs which are marketed as "9000 ready" so no need for update. All other boards would need a BIOS update
@@FIREWOLFTECH thank you so much! I was really looking for this information!!
