thanks so much for not only taking the time to make this vid, but also to cover specs that a newbie wouldn't know about. The Oupes is now regularly $289 and i was considering it before watching your vid. It's definitely in the running now but I'm now going to go back and look again considering the specs you've mentioned. i was trying to get the most i could for $250 and i think it'll hit the spot. I thought that Bluetti, being one of the big names would offer less value for $, but now that you've told me about their sales i'll check their site also. but i think that Oupes is about to get ordered.
Great explanation of the pros and cons of the "Solar Generators". I went through the same growing pains starting with the Inergy Apex great little box with a 1500w inverter and a 1100w battery capacity with 2 12V plugs that are not regulated but because of its large capacity and my 12V Fridge being able to select Low Voltage it will run for about 3 days without charging and about 1.5 days in the summer heat. Also bought 2 jackery 500's one for me and my husband to run both our cpaps. We run the cpaps with 12V converters so they serve their purpose and will power the cpap for a couple of days. We use the Inergy Apex to charge our Jackeries because it supports pass thru charging while hooked up to our Fridge and charge the Apex with 300W solar panels. Long story short we also have Eco Flow Delta Max's to use as UPS when we travel as we experience frequent power outages at home. Don't want to come home to a fridge and freezer full of spoiled food. We are a lot smarter now than we were when we got hooked into "Solar Generators". Keep up the great work.
This was great. Thanks for the valuable information. I have a Jackery and I've like it, but I car camp in cooler weather and charge it when I drive so no issues. Still, I've been looking at the Bluetti AC180. I've just binged on your videos! Keep making videos and I'll cancel my netflix :). Just kidding. I also want the runaway and that's how I came across your channel. I chuckled at your comment "referring to the instructions when you want to see what you did wrong". I do the same thing!
Thanks very much for this. I'm setting up a shell camper for now. In a year or two, I think I'll be a "Runaway guy" I have a Jackery 240 which actually isn't that bad. However, I know I'm going to want more storage and good solar capability b/c I KNOW, I'm going to want a fridge among other stuff. This video was a big help.
Amazing and honest reviews of these products. Presented perfectly for a normal person. I am always checking these out. I got a small jackery for 200 bucks a few years ago. My intention was to basically charge my phone and laptop occasionally. They do charge super slow! Takes all day basically. Well like you said then your expectations change, all of a sudden you want to run a fan, heated blanket, run your laptop for 6-7 hours. Now you gotta buy another one!
I have the midnight get out of bed problem also! Getting up off the floor could induce panic attacks LOL I found a UA-cam video on how to get off the floor after a fall and it works!
My 300 watt Rockpals does all of the things your 500 didn't. It probably has more to do with when you buy than what the brand name is. Everyone is upgrading all of the time.
I went through the same iterations as you did. I now own three batteries. When I realized I needed to power my fridge to store medications, and my little workhorse of a Zoombros was not regulated. …. Yeah….. By the way, I also have a CoolCamp. I love it.
Diane, thanks for watching! The CoolCamp is a magical little camper and you can’t own to many batteries so it’s all good. Hope to see you sometime down the road, Happy Camping!
You’re a riot and ty for the knowledge and info Keep being you So all the prices you’re shared are USA I’m assuming? I live in Ontario Canada, therefore I’ll be paying thru the roof for a solar charger! Bummer Totally enjoyed the video ty again
