We've been on the hunt for our favorite budget friendly power stations and the Oupes Mega 3 came to our attention. After testing it out and playing around with it for a while, there are definitely some things we love about this unit, in addition to the price!

The one thing you didn’t cover was that the expansion batteries have their own MPPT solar inputs and 12v/ USB outputs making an expansion battery great for camping on its own.
Something some of the "big brands" still can't do, like Ecoflow.
Yup, please do reviews of the "bigger guy" and "smaller guy". Also PLEASE create a Google Sheet comparing all the data from all your testes, and add affiliate links so you can make more money from your work, and we can all have a one-stop-shop to compare all your data! (also a link to each unit from the Google sheet to your review videos will get you more views too).
5:25 15 amp max but you forgot that it has a 150v maximum also.. nobody else has this in this range of product.. Eco Anker that's huge. You also talked about lower cost things like the Anderson port.. but forgot to mention it's 30amp.. not many others have this at this level either.. for a camper this is huge.
But thank you for mentioning the help project. Nobody else does that.. and yeah wish they could pair up to increase output. But their expansion battery also has 2k solar input.
Great video.. and videos.. but yeah missed the two big wins for this. 150v and 30amp 12v
Loved this! Cool to see such a company
Looks interesting might buy it. Great video
Thanks, nice review! Have you tested the Yoshino solid state unit?
Great review! I hope you do the Mega 2 and the mega 5 soon!
If you reorder it, the receipt says Oupes You Did It Again.
You should definitely add to the likes that Mega2 and 3 have expandable solar. I got oupes because you can add up to 15kwh of batteries and add a massive 14.7kw of solar and charge the whole unit faster than any solar generator on the matket.
I have found no other brand that has the same expandable features as oupes.
Liked your review
Nice video, You should make a video on how this units stack against each other.
They're the only company with decently priced systems and have expansion batteries that add more MPPT for a not bad price. This is the only system I want go buy. The surge thing is pretty sucky but I just have fo watch. Maybe I missed it but a test for DC efficiency would be nice.
Saving up for the Eco flow pro!!
Get it! One regret is that I got the EcoFlo Delta 2. Should’ve got the pro.
I'm trying to run fans during the 🔥🥵 summer months. I can't do solar panels. What would you suggest? 🤔
Enjoyed the review a lot. I know that you shouldn't have to "hack" a product to make it work, but maybe you COULD try putting a couple of wraps of Gorilla Tape or Flex Tape around the wheels to keep them from marring your floors. Just an idea that occurred to me. I haven't tried it myself.
FIY - Definition: Opus is a created work like composing music or writing a book. In its simplest terms opus means "to work". Mr. Hollands opus (movie).
Would like to see a review on a smaller unit from Oupes. I do live sportscasting and I'm looking for something that is inexpensive and reliable to use with a 60 wh load that can last fo 3-4 hours. Jackery is one that comes up alot but would like to find out all my options. You guys do a very thorough job on reviews. Glad I found this channel!
I have the mega2 unit and a battery. 2500w AC.
2100w solar ×2.
Its excellent. 4000wh total, small, light, good price.
Oupes, is one of the better units I would get one for the price, but you guys need to try out the Dabbsson I believe it's really good unit almost as good as the ecoflow but I'll be waiting for that reward for sure Dabbsson try it today 🎉😂
I bought a couple Ankers and then I bought Ecoflow. Ecoflow has a app function called Backup Reserve (under Energy Management). It allows you to set a percentage of battery, and above that it will only charge from solar. Once it falls below that it will draw from grid. But just enough to keep it at the minimum percentage. I will no longer buy a battery that doesn't have that. I wish your reviews would say whether or not the app has that.
can you please, please do a review on the patriot power generator.
Why not show how it does in actual tests like running your appliances or shop equipment?
I have to use a Bi-pap machine Liked#29 n subscribed!!!
I commend all the work y'all are doing on this channel. I can't wait till y'all reap the benefits once all the subs get here. Free units are nice but its not a business yet... I would like to start a channel just so I can get my off grid homestead started with free gear.
Peak Shave? Has Pecron done any better in the last year? I bought a budget E600 and had big problems with it overloading in hot weather and then draining its battery to 0 and never resetting its self. It became an expensive boat anchor. I was only pulling 80 watts DC. Pecron's customer warranty absolutely sucks as of last year.
I see all of Pecron's larger units have moved to a 5-yr warranty now. But I hear their customer service is almost non-existent. The fact that these guys actually spoke with an Oupes rep was the most impressive part of this video. Enough to sway me to buy from this comp. Thanks!
I think they are too big. I prefer something with a higher energy density. I bought a product called comvolt before, and it works pretty well.
Ive heard even on a mildly cloudy day the solar input is terrible. Supposedly once the solar input drops down, it'll take a full 1.5-2 minutes to ramp back up even under full sun.
I wouldn't say 1.5-2 mins more like 20-30 sec.
I know because it runs my whole house except for our 3-ton air conditioning unit
@drjbreland Thanks for the correction. The people I heard that from were obviously exaggerating.
I just checked the website link and they're listing this unit a 1,999.00. That was a really short sale price drop. That's the same price as the more popularly known Bluetti of the same capacity.
About how long would it take to charge this unit from a 30 percent state of charge to a 100 percent state of charge using a 700-watt solar array, assuming optimum charging conditions?
I asked this same question on the Oupes website chat feature but, it appears that no one is present during the middle of a common work day.
They're often (not always) much cheaper on Amazon. Even through the Oupes official store.
Why don't you have your Delta Pro 3 so you can do an INFOMERCIAL like the other youtubers are? I heard that ecoflow loves to give them out in return for a favorable review.
Because we aren't all the other UA-camrs😂 We do have one though now that they are released, and we will see what we think about it after we spend some times with it!
@@TheSolarLab sham-wow!
@@TheSolarLab when you do review it, can you outline why this DP3 still only has 150V input for MPPT? Also why ecoflow left the Smart Home Panel (version 1) behind with no support of legacy delta pro? They have support from the DP3 to the DP (extra batteries) but have basically made the original Delta Pro that made them wildly successful obsolete and a huge boat anchor.
Pecron E3600?
Yes! No one has reviewed this new Pecron. Oupes Mega 3 and the Pecron E3600LFP look like they have a lot of the same features and specs.
Is the $1700 price anywhere?
$1500 on Ebay refurbished!

It'd be awesome to see a chart in the video for rankings, like the Torque Test Channel does if possible.
Gotta have a 240V output to be real. Otherwise, you’re just selling camping equipment.
so for 1700 bucks you can run a lamp for about an hour?
1 big ass lamp I guess? The lamp in the test is so you can visualize when it shuts off... we've never seen a 3000w lamp before😂
Anker still better 😅
At doing what?
The best budget power station is not a power station at all.
What is it?
@@drjbreland a component system you build yourself for half the cost.
@@JamesAmbrose48that literally makes no sense... Incase you didn't know a power station is something that generates or produce power... 👍🏿
@@drjbreland you didn’t understand what I said. I’ve been living off grid with a 15 kWh system I built myself for much less money than I would have spent on these fancy systems. My recommendation is to do both. Have a power station for camping trips, but if you need serious backup power, have a system you assembled yourself for much less cost.
