Great video on staying warm. I’m 64yo and last year I did tent camp in Yellowstone. I froze because I thought my air mattress and 3 blankets would be fine. I was wrong. This year, I bought a cot, sleeping bag and with blankets I should be definitely an improvement. Thanks for sharing
The Gazelle tent isn't made for colder weather as it has a mosquito mesh ceiling. So, I bought polyester fill material, similar to a warm jacket fill, and sewn it to the size of the roof, placing it between the mesh and rain fly. Now that's a hack 👍🏼
Even camping out of a pickup, I always had room for more blanket/sleeping bag/comforter. I've overnighted at 30 below F. My years up in Colorado front range taught me there's never bad weather. Just bad equipment.
Another great video. Just ordered a throw from Amazon. To me the most important thing I have while camping is my bed and that just got more comfortable with this throw! Most camping trips I take are in warmer areas but I do venture into colder spots on occasion so this will definitely help.
Not sure if 54 is considered "senior", but if so, I'm yet another one. I can't seem to heat my tent with my wood stove. It makes it mildly warmer, but then I'd have to get up almost hourly to make sure there's always wood being fed into it. And the stoves aren't big enough to put large chunks of wood in them.
Great video and it's been fun watching you since I'm a fellow senior camping dude. I have the electric throw for when I have electric. I also have a 12v blanket for when no electric is available except my solar generator. I haven't needed the 12v blanket yet but I did test it and found it cycled on/off so the solar generator needs to have a constent 12v source to allow it to cycle back on. One of my solar generators has 12v constant thankfully. I'll be heading west from Florida in the fall so maybe I'll see you on the road.
Thanks for watching! Yes, climbing into a warm bed when it’s cold is Wonderful and it sounds like you have it covered. If you’re coming this way in the future would be great to camp with a fellow senior camping dude! Happy Camping!
Great video. Like you and your presentation. Lots of good tips. I'm a senior also. Just purchased a Gazelle T4, but still in transit. Subscribed and will be looking forward to more vids.
Tracy, thanks so much for your wonderful comments. I love Idaho, lucky you to live there! I hope you like your T4, it’s a great tent. Hope I can keep you watching, Happy Camping!

Decided to make the jump to diesel heater... Best decision I ever made... BTW... Traveling in a range runner runaway.
would like to know more about the diesel heater: pros and cons. Thx
Great video. Question: where did you get that small table?
