Love it Sam… an area I see few videos on is the mental side of riding, dealing with knockbacks, nerves, fear, improving confidence, building back up after a crash, dealing with days when you feel a bit rubbish. How you've personally overcome some of these mental barriers - The zen of mtbing!
the slowing down comes by the gravity as you reach the maximum height and start going down. you should come slowly and boost the jump, then you are going more up than front.
Great new series 👍🏻 Stylish tables next vid please. This could be a beginner series, then inters, then an expert series, just a thought 🤞🏻 Start churning the vids lad 🤘🏻
There are so many "how to jump videos" but I believe Sam explained it best here. A lot of details yet described so efficiently in an easy to understand way.
It would be brilliant if you could make a video for more advanced riders showing how to do drops in the range of 10-15 feet. That would be incredibly helpful.
If you can do a 2 foot drop, you can do a 10 foot drop. It's exactly the same, but try telling your head that! Granted, you may have to let your front end drop a little as you're more than likely to be landing on a downward slope if it's a bike park drop. You can do it. If you know you can already do 2 feet over and over, no problems, you've got this!
@@24MPZ Funny, I felt the same way when I wrote the comment. By now I am throwing nohanders over all kickers I can find😂Start with a small kicker where not much can go wrong and try boosting it over and over again until you feel confident. They are actually much nicer to jump than flat jumps.
Your tables are the best in the business in my opinion. I just learned a lot from watching the clip of you doing the the table over and over in extra slow speed. I never get mine that flat. I'm usually too far back and hit the seat with my thigh. Thanks!!
These are great! Vids on Manuals are always a hit! Schralping corners! Riding backwards is a video that you do t see many of them, flat ground 180’s and such. Even if it with a BMX bike it’s fun skill to have !
More on hips would be awesome, my local bike park has a pretty big hip and I’m still trying to figure out how to hit it! Plus different tricks on a hip would be cool to know!
Echo what others are saying. How to move on from beginner long and low gaps and tables to steeper faced jumps where you have to commit to the speed and the inevitable height. They look like a wall but in reality are 45 degrees!
Such a good tutorial this, when I try scrub I try to think of how my feet are, and I drop my rear foot to be lower than my front foot, just seems to help me get the bike over. Or I drop whatever foot is on the outside of the bike and lift the inside foot up.
Love the vid dude 👍 could you do one about confidence hitting something scary for the first time please 🙏 I think I'm lacking confidence on and off the bike so any advice is appreciated 😂
Want lots of Hits and praise from the community , make a series on various skill how to's from beginner to mid then expert . ( Jumps . Turns , etc etc )
I'm having trouble with steep dirtjumps, I'm compressing a lot on the takeoff, like what one would do in a BMX race track to keep the speed instead of going up
Cool series sam! Indeed, I need to get better to match the 5 year old schredder kids :) Next up? Lots of people already mentioned all sorts of jumps, so thats good. Especially all the stuff that’s not really useful but looks cool and is fun: that definitely has my vote! Love to see clearing doubles on a pumptrack. I’m struggling to get enough hight/speed/boost
I would definitelt like to learn tables, it's a trick that eluded me through my bmx years. Also would like to get more tips on drops, gave myself a separated shoulder this past spring on a drop so want to avoid that in the future
Sick vid would be cool if you did a sports science breakdown of darkfest type jumps to help out more advanced reply riders. I'm definitely not that guy but have been jumping bikes for 20 plus years and would love to have some of your genius input into my riding. Safe dog. Thanks
Such a good video man, super helpful!! 1 vote here for more info on tabletops/whips!! (Just noticed while doing a tabletop your feet are actually coming off the pedals??)
Ok, so table tops are a goal of mine but I struggle with them so much. Riding with my left foot forward my hip jams/is blocked when I try to do them to the right (the way most riders suggest to go when you ride with your left foot forwards). So I end up mainly doing them (or trying to) to the left which ends up making me take the left foot off. I've tried Matt Jones' tip of lying on your back and doing it but my hip just goes to a boney block. Technically speaking, I range passive range of motion with flexion, adduction and internal rotation of the hip. Any tips on technique would be great!!!
Hey I’ve hit decent size gaps before but whenever I hit somthing steep of fast that I’m scared of I just freeze up in the air and forget everything I know have any tips to help??
I'd like to see how to put a bit of style/steeze into my airtime. I'm fairly confident on a lot of jumps but I need to start throwing some some shapes, I'm just getting used to small whips but only to the side where my front foot is. I need to start learning an oppo whip
Great video Sam! ... .Btw, Good clicked tables on a large 29" mountain bike seem massively harder than when I used to do them on a BMX bike. That said, would love a video on how to do a solid table on a MTB!
Could you do one on steeper lips preferably the 2nd to last yellow jump on split Richard which is behind you on last jump you filmed at as I’m currently 3 weeks into a broken collarbone from that one aha
Something people never talk about is; i always tend to lose my pedals mid-flight! I am actually cool jumping, but mostly lose the pedals to the front and hit my shins. Does anyone have a good advice for that? :D I have the right position on the pedal but i feel like i dont have enough pressure on the pedal mid-flight. What can i do? Keep shreeding guys!
@@Aljonone1 all u really could do is put ur weight back and maybe try and pull the handlebars up towards u but it happens so quick you’d have to have some great reactions

A video on steep dirt jumps and maybe some basic tricking technique.
how to slow down in the air and nose into really short, steep transitions would be great.
@@elijahforthewin you cant slow down in the air.
@@nictreadgold6411 uh, yes you can. Grab your brakes halfway through a 30ft gap and let me know what happens

And trick tutorials! (sui’s, no footers - easier tricks)
And steeper off camber drops
yeeee, advanced tutorials about anything really...
It’s hard to find those kind of videos on the internet

One of the best jumping tutorials I've ever seen! But what about very steep kickers?
For real, steep kickers are my nemesis. I do fine on most trail jumps. But at many jumplines I get my ass kicked by steeper jumps.

love it! Next tip video on riding a medium set of trails!! And basic tricks, shapes, style of airing steep dirt jumps
Bro riding behind Nikoli was sick. To see the view from the air of how u guys do those jump tricks is AMAZING!
I so agreed that you have to do this type of coaching series especially basic jump and beginner tricks . Thanks.

Loved the shout out to Dylan Stark! Such a sick rider who is starting to hit the spotlight more 🤙
I love the slow motion and also how you demonstrate what your body and bike are doing. Great tutorial 🤙🔥
What best way to learn HOW TO JUMP then to learn it from the guy who started DARK FEAST!!
Dark feast sounds yummy
Perfect video.. im heading to a bike park for the first time in a couple weeks so hopefully I can put all of this to good use.. thanks Sam
It would be amazing if you do a video about jumps with a steep lip, jumping with a full suspension bike!
nice one sam! hope you make a tutorial for dirt jumping.🤘🤘🤘
Cool new content. A how to video on hitting Dirt Jump trails as well as how to build them, would be nice.
I love this, but my probloom is being scared to jump it
that one of the best explanations for squashing a jump, cheers
Thank you so much for this vid Sam ☺️
Amazing explanation.🤩

the landing flat tip, actually useful in case you over send a jump and you're in the deep end ;)

you should do a video on how to overcome fears of learning new tricks

Manuals and wheelies !
Tks Sam! Why do u recommend landing front wheel slightly first , rather than back wheel?
Then you get control earlier, and if you land back wheel first it can pull the bars down from your hands. And is smoother!
