As an economist, I will present two facts-based on data: 1. Yes, India is the fastest-growing major economy in the world. Many have pointed this out, including the IMF, and it is based on GDP growth rates. 2. But, India also has one of the most unequally distributed incomes in the world. So, the benefit of growth in terms of income earned, is accruing disproportionately to the top 1 percent and top 10 percent of the income distribution. From this it follows that the economic benefits of hard work by the average Indian workers is NOT accruing to them but to those who are already rich. In other words, the rich are getting richer the harder the lower income groups work. So, when Narayan Murty says that Indians should work 70 hours a week, the implication of that is people like him (the rich) will reap the benefits of that hard work. Don’t expect the incomes of the majority to go up by any significant amount. They will continue to struggle. Where is the justification of such an unjust system. I need to remind Mr. Murty that people don’t work for the country. They work for themselves and their families. This is the “invisible hand” of Adam Smith, one of the most famous economists the world has produced. It is self interest that drives the greater good, the national GDP.

I think India can learn a LOT from the aviation industry, with mandatory policing to maintain the work life balance of pilots and crew, so that it ensures everyone has a safe flight! Similarly, productivity of employees will also go up of they also have breaks that help them keep their mental and physical health in check!
Buddy, no one should learn from aviation. If anything it's running because of the on-ground technical & engineering crews who work double shifts & single week offs.
@@rutvikrs yeah, but I specified that they could learn from how the aviation industry specifies flight hours and shifts for Pilots and cabin crew, with rest hours important for the safety of the flight, which can also be applicable for most job markets too! Granted the Indian Job market is kinda screwed, and so is the maintenance part of the aviation industry! Most people in our country view employees as expendable, and not only dump all company responsibilities on them, but also micromanage them every step of their way, while not actually contributing much to the company themselves, except bearing the title of “Manager”!

The thing that contributes the most to this imbalance is that organisations are themselves disorganised at the top most levels. Tasks are not broken down and delegated properly, and right talent is not allocated. All the talented people are actually micromanaging everything and getting burnt out
Bingo. To make it worse there is a bottom up problem of accountability which makes it hard to count on systems. Simplest example, go to Domino's, order a pizza & see the difference between when you get the "order is ready" message & when it is actually ready.
You blatantly started contradicting yourself around the 8:30 mark to sell yet another training and upskilling product for your own profit. Really undermines your message here. I thought the whole point of your video here is to talk about health and mental health and how hard it is to balance those against work, career growth, and progress in India, but you interrupted it with a message of "Here, just learn ONE more thing from another platform, that'll fix all your problems".
First 3 Mins, **Absolute Cinema** 🎥 and it captures what I felt working for 2 year's...I took a break becuz of my nose and back surgery recently and now feel empty not working but relaxed.
Interesting! Majority of people (govt, orgs & individuals) seem to have misinterpreted the definition of a fulfilled life. How about having a law towards employers to pay as per the number of working hours, prove why is the overtime required & strictly have 40h or 45h work week?
I think one suggestion would be that there should be certain creative parts in between the overall explaining also other than the one in the starting it can be a skit, a video, an interview of someone from another channel anything just in between for some period of time where you just stop for a minute and let that take play rather than just constant verbal information going on in the background. Aevy TV, Thinkschool & soch by mohak do this very well you can have a look and learn too. This is because in long format videos people often get bored continuously hearing someone go over something and nothing to catch their attention back. Also I feel the audio can be a little bit better. Other than this everything is perfect and you guys are doing a wonderful job such channels are required and should be known to everyone. 👏👏✨👍

It’s called exploitation (financial abuse). Work is fine but if you are not paid accordingly, it has to be addressed. Imagine all the employees refuse to go to work, companies must negotiate at that point.
I was in the same phase until this september, Ive heard phrases like these. "Jabtk pura nahi hoga aaj jane nahi dunga " , " me tujhe 9 baje chod raha hu, I dont care tu ghar kitne baje pohochega.. next morning time par ana hoga ". But anyways Now i landed another job which is hybrid (3days WFO, 2days WFH) along with a 140 percent hike. Although i have only 2 YOE as of now. But One thing which i can say is no matter how productive you are, its always about the extra working hours that matters. Even if I complete that particular day's task i still have to wait if my team is there or else if the team lead is been waiting (ofcourse forced by their managers). The task for me during this time were to help colleagues complete their work or else some evening i could even get a new task assigned to me. And because of this culture, what I have observed is people make a habit to do timepass throughout the day and start their work from 5 which in turn leads all of us to wait until 9.
Lol the last line is so true. I work 5 days wfo. But my work day starts from 9 on paper but 10am in reality. In between I'll take coffee breaks etc. I'll finish my work by 7pm
timepass ??? like how for example if I completed my day task 3 hours ago then I should watch a movie to timepass during office hours or I have to sit in front of laptop ?
Took a difficult decision to quit my current job and join a startup. I was able to deliver 40 hours worth of work in less than 25 hours and the company ousted me saying they'll automatically deduct leaves if I don't meet the 40 hours per week limit.
That isn't a bad ask from the company. It is someone's job(usually ISO standard reporting, but I may be wrong for your sector) that someone is hovering over the work/workspace for 40 hours to proactively manage situations. Yeah sure, forcing one to stick around does not lead to outcomes but absence means a 100% failure rate. This is why doctors are forced to complete the surgery even though the "actual surgery" is less than a minute.
You missed the point how over population plays a crucial role , demand is less supply is more will leads to exploitation. Fix population issue, many things will fall in place.
Forget about managers and corporations the situation is worse even in universities. In the department of agriculture biotechnology, svpuat, meerut, a professor mukesh kumar is there who likes to exploit students in every way possible. He made us to sit in his chamber all the time in the name of degree so that we are always available to his works and maintains a very toxic and pathetic environment there. He can't even handle his bag and bottle by his own and forced his students to handle all these along with all the office works and peon works too. And even after all these he doesn't even talk to his students with any respect. He very rudely talks to students in the most pathetic way possible ruining complete mindset. And even the department is completely hollow with no facilities provided to students not even a weighing scale provided to weigh the chemicals and all the chemicals provided were already expired in 2009. The original quotation of chemicals required for my thesis work was of 1.6 lakhs but they asked me to reduce the prices and I talked to other companies after that again and again they asked to lower more. Then advisor asked to make the bill below 20000. Even when the quotation came below that price they were not buying me chemicals and in the very end time of the degree they just provided me with a master mix costing 8000 only. We are mentally harassed very badly. After all this when all three students under him took to registrar for his complaint, he started exploitation even more and not even sending panels for the viva. Other department students and even a girl of my batch under other advisor completed their course and viva in july and gone to other places for further studies but here now even october is going to be completed and he haven't sent panel of the viva and we are left alone and direction less. And all this I had to suffer was being a MSc student not even Phd. And all this is from a state university. This is the situation of research in India. He made his students life worse. I'm writing this everywhere possible so that people can know that devils live in between.

As someone who graduated from iit delhi, you don’t need to study 12 hours a day including coaching hours. Your brain is also a muscle and you need to train it but it cannot have peak performance for 12+ hours. Would you stay in the gym to build muscle for 12 hours? No. You perform exercise at peak performance in failure for 1-2 hours and then the most important is eating. It is also similar for training your brain. Focus in class, that is approx 6 to 8 hours of your day done(9am to 3:30pm). When you reach home then either revise the subject studied or perform questions from that topic for 1-2 hours(4-6pm). Then go do something you like/love doing for rest of the day till dinner. I liked playing football. You don’t need to solve 200+ question per topic. Doing 5-10 difficult questions that clear the basics of the subject is better than 200 questions. And if you are in a coaching they conduct mock tests and treat them as your final paper each time. One of the most important thing my mentor said to me was “learning how to learn is more important than learning itself”. Make a schedule that you can stick to and be consistent. In the 8-10 hours you study, do it with full focus( you should be at such focus that you remember even a small thing that is taught in class) and of course eat well. Food is your fuel, never neglect heath as it also impacts performance when you study or give tests. Good luck

Once you start working, you'll realise all these exams are child's play. Things that don't matter in the future. You can thank coaching centers and their marketing teams for making them seem so important. There are IIT graduates who aren't getting campus placement these past 2-3 years. There are also students from tier 2 colleges getting placed with packages over 10lakh and students getting funding for their startup in hackathons. It depends on what you do in college... Do not waste your time studying 12hrs a day 🙏

This is the reality in most third world countries , you can’t wish it away. In the third world, you are completely replaceable , there are million of aspiring people who will take your job for less, sometimes even for free! Hence most people in the third world have to work extra hard, with terrible infrastructure, pollution, high prevalence of infectious disease , poor sanitation etc….and you lose 20% to income tax and 20% to GST automatically, Life is truly hell in the third world , karma is very heavy to be born here
#WHYNOT? We income Tax payers don’t have this option for indirect TAX.. We pay income tax to government and the same amount if government virtually credited to our PAN account then while purchasing products we can avail GST exemption based on PAN(similar to how companies get GST exemption). This helps income tax payers not to pay additional indirect tax also they can spend more that will boost economy. If you like this idea, please talk about this and share it to bring the change
Manager is also at the end of the day an employee! How will they change anything when they are suffering too? Promotion and salary hike is based on how much is the company earning. Micro management is a personal dynamic with any team, it comes with team being able to communicate better and manager being able to trust enough that they will do the job Govt should intervene but with hot shot company owners influencing, I doubt anything will ever change. If you stay till 12 am without being productive then it is acceptable but If you leave before 9pm after doing all the work assigned to you , you are considered "Kam chor". The situation deteriorates when industry leaders also vouch this torture of working very long hours.
You will keep saying this until you start managing people and outcomes. One day you will be forced to choose between cancelling someone's vacation, denying a sick leave & losing your own job.
@@rutvikrs
Lack of unity & leadership
Better to lose your own job rather than cancelling a sick leave. Is cancellation of sick leave even valid? Never heard of such case don't tell me this things also happens. @@rutvikrs
Didi why not you're considering to build a community over Discord or Reddit, we all can discuss several topics there and you can also monetize it later as all of your core audience gonna be there.
Great video as always ♥️.
Right, A full disclosure's community should be appreciated from my side too.
actually having a community where all topics could be discussed and help from others could also reach those who need it.
+1
I think they aren't gonna do this as this entity belongs to Zerodha and they have their own communities, might be Zerodha allow them to create one, not sure.
Didi 😅, Only people with yours kinda face and jawlines 💀 have guts to call these kinda extremely beautiful girls didi.
I think the best way is to fix a strict 8 hours working time and provide weekend availability like Monday to Friday in all fields of job,
As an economist, I will present two facts-based on data:
One of the best channels i found on youtube lately. amazing video, story telling, script, cinematography. great work guys. this channel will surpass 1M subs soon.
This video should be made in Hindi also, so that the previous generation who's not english friendly can also understand the situation. Previous generation doesn't have any idea of what's a corporate life.
dislikes came from CEOs 😭
Generation 1: Work 70 hours
Generation 2: Work life balance.

That’s why Govt exam competition is going high day by day. First I was in Corporate, then with job I’ve cracked govt exam. I’m happy with that
I have left two toxic jobs by now and I feel happy:)
yeah, but you cant just not work. were you able to find a job that does make you happy?
@@evilsclub1are you suggesting to stay at a toxic place and die a miserable death?
The thing that contributes the most to this imbalance is that organisations are themselves disorganised at the top most levels. Tasks are not broken down and delegated properly, and right talent is not allocated. All the talented people are actually micromanaging everything and getting burnt out
Bingo. To make it worse there is a bottom up problem of accountability which makes it hard to count on systems. Simplest example, go to Domino's, order a pizza & see the difference between when you get the "order is ready" message & when it is actually ready.
Thank you to support work life balance 🙏🏻
great content❤ been addicted to the cinematography and new techniques you guys following. keep it up
You blatantly started contradicting yourself around the 8:30 mark to sell yet another training and upskilling product for your own profit.

My favourite channel now a days
MNCs - Slave Masters.

It’s called exploitation (financial abuse). Work is fine but if you are not paid accordingly, it has to be addressed. Imagine all the employees refuse to go to work, companies must negotiate at that point.
Thanks for making me understand the difference between hard work v/s overwork
Congratulations for 100k.

I can’t even complain about work life balance as everyone in my team is working day and night. So much work with little resource.
So you leaved your 40h work
they then do simple thing do not cover up your work in 25 hours , be relax and do your work slowly
At 2:27 it’s not actually 12pm though, if it’s midnight it has to be 12am 😅
😂
Right
😂
Correct😅
This vedio should get viral really so do like and forward
Sadly all laws are only for 30% govt employees and not for 70% of other sectors.
in govt sector too not much adherence is given nowadays
How many of you are working in companies that have asked you to work during Diwali? No bonus, no double pay, no dinner, just work? While their CEOs or boses are chilling ? You need a balance between both visibility based as well as output based metrics. Relying solely on just one can lead to toxicity and manipulation. See citation metrics in academics... That is an output based metric but high citation and impact factor does not necessarily mean good science. Yet that is the sole metrics used to judge the quality of scientists and researchers.

@@Life.x.boost. you've not even started to face the pressures of life. You have a lot to learn. You won't always have the freedom to gain the knowledge you want once you're past a certain stage in life. But yeah. You'd have to experience it to understand it. I just have one big piece of advice for you. Talk to people you're close to. No matter where they are. Don't have any ego, hesitation, don't belittle people, help as much as you can to people who aren't as smart as you. Try to keep as many people as you can. And try to find people who doesn't run behind money and material things. Now i don't know why you're doing IIT but if you're doing it for money, its time to change your perspective.
Don't study for 12 hours. No need.
I did the same, got into NIT but no need. Study smart, do your boards very well, and you'll atlewst get VIT or SRM good branches, skill up maximum, focus only on gaining knowledge not grades and build network starting se you'll do great in life trust me.
12 hours now is sheer idiocy. Learn not to crack IIT but to dive deep and enjoy the process don't think about IIT and all, seriously it will help you in life.

Modern world social status JOBS... 😮 Yesss ... It's called Modern Slavery😢
Micro management is a personal dynamic with any team, it comes with team being able to communicate better and manager being able to trust enough that they will do the job
Govt should intervene but with hot shot company owners influencing, I doubt anything will ever change.
Govt is the first party here to initiate the change, rest all will eventually fall in line..
