To be honest, this is good. In India , we have people like Nayarayn murthy who expects us to work 70 hours a week & Bhavesh the clown from ola who says weekends are western thing. But both of them don't want to pay their employee more salary. There might be people who can work 50-60 hours a week , but the question is "Are these companies willing to pay us more than what we earn in our legal working hours ?" If the answer is NO. Then the problem is not Gen Z. Problem is our country's big companies heads. If Narayan Murthy wants us to work 70 hours a week in the name of Nationalism, why don't he pay us more ? That too on hourly basis. Pay us on the basis of how many hours we give to your company. And let's develop the nation together. Gen Z are straight forward when comes to hardworking & reward. Companies wants us to work hard but they don't want to pay us more. On the top of that we focus on productivity , not clocking work hours. So if someone is able to complete a task in less time , we do expect some freedom but instead , when we complete a task earlier then deadline given to us , we are given more task as reward. Logic ? Definitely , we give importance to work life balance. We don't want higher position & then stuck with a stressed life. Instead , we want a life where we can work , we can focus on our physical & mental health , give little time to our hobby too. That one dimensional lifestyle where you go to work , come to home , take rest & again go to work was a scam & Gen Z don't want to fall for that.
Germans built back their country twice. Do you think they did this by having work life balance? US was built from scratch, total scratch, you think that happened with work life balance? West has worked hard to be where they are right now. Please have a little context before comparing.
@@dangyhoTalking about context, not every country is built from scratch with hard work, these countries colonised other countries, looted them, enslaved black and other communities. So yeah, not every country has the same past. And definitely they are not rich bcuz they worked hard. In India, weekend is a privilege which only employees in a handful of sectors can enjoy. Literally no other job gives a 2-day weekend. They are already burned out and earn very less and remain poor while all these MNCs make money out of paying low wages to their employees. Howmuch ever the people work hard, the country will not progress unless they are incentivised for the work they do.

No, they are entitled and lazy. They don’t know real adult life, and real hard work. They don’t want to work, yet expect to be paid like a ceo. They hate and discriminate any rich person. You think they will save you, but what they’re really doing is screwing themselves. By the time they realize how unrealistic their expectations can’t survive in the adult world, it’ll be too late, and they screwed their retirement. They seriously lack more and more common sense.
No politics. No BS. Just pure thing. If you are wrong, you are wrong and here is a way to correct yourself. If I am wrong, then I am wrong, and you tell me how to correct myself or at least I figure it out. Direct conversation. Not that stupid corporate lingo.
Corporates are also to be blamed for their failure to bring in good work life balance for their employees. Often the standard working hours of 8 hours per day ends up becoming 10-12 hours for most employees if the travel time to office and back home is considered. This becomes worse during bad weather and high traffic conditions. So Gen Z should actually be applauded for disrupting the status quo and demanding better benefits and working conditions from their employers. Corporates and the governments must relook at the existing work culture and policies and make necessary changes that will bring a good work life balance for everyone. There is no point in destroying our health and life for work which can be replaced by someone else.
Also the time spent on work is more than half useless meetings. 2 hours can be automated by AI, while only 2 hours of real work but you took them 10 hours. Everyday life is real so they don't think its worth. There are all kinds of subsidiary and welfare from western countries as well.

I am millennial and I totally support the Gen-Z.. Its not the Gen-Z problem, its the Employers who need to evolve and come out of their Dictatorial Mindset.. Every generation is different... Their purpose or Motivation to work is Different.. My Grandpa used to work for Survival (for basic necessities and building a House) he would have remained loyal even if the Employer was a total nightmare.. My dad worked for standard of living (For ensuring good education of his kids, buying a Car and building wealth for family) he would have worked for Nightmare Employer as there was a financial Need to do so... With necessities and comforts of life already arranged by previous generation, Millennials & Gen-Z don't have that Financial insecurities.. they work for professional development and Work life balance which most of the Dictatorial employers are NOT able to provide..
I am an older GenZ starting my solo company. I need to clarify something. We don't feel the pressure to work under somebody else and take sh*t because we have more options. A traditional 9-5 is not a rule, its just one option that we explore and leave if we do not like it. We will explore freelance, monetize content, start our own project and check what fits best with us. There is nothing wrong with that. Also, a lot of us do not have financial debt. Many people who slog in a 9-5 lifestyle NEED TO DO IT (especially employees from tier 2 tier 3 locations) to repay loans. So our priorities are different. We do not owe anything extra to companies coz it is not our adoptive family. We will be replaced or fired anytime so there is no point normalizing any form of exploitation as work. GenZ is a reminder that employment is a two way street. Companies need employees and employees need companies. When companies cannot provide job security or pay fairly.. its tata bye bye!

As a millennial who’s adapted to the ever-changing world of work, I actually see a lot of value in how Gen Z approaches things. Yes, they question the norms-maybe even the ones we millennials put in place. But let’s be honest, the so-called ‘hustle culture’ often came with a side of burnout and anxiety. Gen Z is smart to put a premium on both mental and physical well-being, and, yes, they do value freedom-something we all secretly wish we had more of! Gen Z is heavily influenced by social media, where they see many influencers talking about financial independence. They hear messages like, "If you want to be rich, don’t work a regular job-start a business, follow your passion, and settle down." These appealing stories often inspire them to focus their efforts in many directions. In contrast, the previous generation had fewer options-mostly limited to certain jobs, especially previous generations did only government jobs. There were no influencers, iPhones, luxury cars, or platforms like UA-cam, Facebook, and Instagram, no corporate culture, no boyfriend , girlfriend issues. People worked, got married, retired at 60, and raised their children. Life was much simpler back then. For Gen Z, however, there are many options, countless ways to enjoy life, and numerous things to spend money on, making it more challenging for them to stay focused on one path.

I'm Gen X. The idea of only doing your work is not new at all. "Job and knock" is what we called it. Most people I know went to work, did their job and came home. That was it. No overtime, no extra work... You did your job. Nowadays they call is "Quiet quitting"... In my day it was "the work life balance". Don't blame someone for not having passion for a job as long as they are doing it. People should be paid to come in and do a job. You are paying me for my time and skills. Nothing more. Both sides of the management line need to understand this. People at the bottom generally only want a paycheque at the end of the week. I don't live to work, I work to live. Work is what I do so I can do what I want in the evening or on the weekend.
European outsourcing to India started because there people work strict hours. Wherever workers complain, companies move to countries where people want to work and bring results. Why the previous generation work harder: - They still having a mortgage, they want a second property for 'safer' future, the property is still in profit for long run. - Their parents taught them to do like that and the peer do that too. - They watch internet but for leisure/social media usage only - dreaming one day retire to enjoy 100 days cruise trip cost them 100,000 and can around the world while having rental income. Why the GenZ doesn't follow: - If parents already own property(ies), they don't have to worry - They rather want to 'experience' life rather than slave - They can lower their expense by just watch youtube/netflix and video games. all could be cheap - They can now enjoy their life right away and no need work like a slave. - They work only 1-2 hours is enough and no need to work 8 hours with 4 hours useless meeting with stupid people not making decision and doesn't know what the world is happening.

Everyone needs more than their salary to be financial stable. The best thing to do with your money is to invest it rightly, because money left for saving always end up used with no returns.
I’m looking for something to venture into on a short term basis, I really need to create an alternate source of income, what do you thing I should be buying?
Gen Z are the most capable workers yet. They know the value of other skills than just cramming up books. So it's hard to believe that gen Z lack skills. Some may not have it, but most do. Companies are just creating a false narrative so Gen Z thinks that they lack a lot and are not worth it. So just work at whatever job you get, however they treat you. They want you to think that you are the problem and you should be grateful that you at least have a job.
Gen Zs want to be treated like humans and not slaves. Which is how it should've been since the beginning of corporate culture. But it's not. No matter the post, how much you improve and how much you work, they'll never be happy and want you to work more. Gen Z has watched their parents. Corporate wants to milk their employees and squeeze last drop for profit maximization for the top most level.
"Gen Z are the most capable workers yet. They know the value of other skills than just cramming up books." - LOL, it's the complete opposite. They get out of college thinking they know it all and treat everyone else as uneducated. The WORST ones are Indian PhDs. They have this attitude that they have some monopoly on intelligence, education and wisdom because of their advanced degree, and have an attitude about people with lower levels of credentials who are trying to teach them practical skills. Many of them keep trying to re-invest the wheel in the workplace and don't understand that specialized education in a particular field does NOT translate to an overall understanding on how business works.😐
I want to share few observations of managing team of more than 70 young employees. Really saying the whole new lot of Gen-Z after free internate era is unstable, less mature and shortcut mindset. They have very high dreams but doesn't have patient & consistency to fulfill it. They are considering seniors as idiots and donkeys who bears pressure and them selves as smart switchers who doesn't work hard but increase package by switching org. At every 1-2 years.
its just that this generation has refused to be a corporate slave. yet there are many but sooner or later companies in order to survive will have to Adopt work life balance, good Work culture, defined work roles and takes. i am millennial but i believe given proper environment, GenZ do get work Done.
I was born in 86. Fortunate enough to work for 2 amazing companies. Always had and still have good work life balance. Only difference between Millennials and Gen Z is Millennials want work life balance after working, GenZ want work life balance without working. Unable to take feedback is spot on. We are so scared of telling them that they are doing wrong because they might complain to the HR. Why are still the 80s kids still dominating sport. Its so obvious
Absolutely correct, I observe this daily at work... Worthless to say the least....have it all... Responsibility is not in their dictionary...wanna make quick buck.. Share trading, UA-cam, Insta.. Let's see how they manage ahead... Without depending on their parents, elders...
It's not our fault. The pandemic has affected how we studied at the high education which prohibit us to have a practical work experience because we have to do our placement through computer screen

Nayarayn murthy's son in law was the prime minister of UK. 🤣what nationalism?
@@dangyhoTalking about context, not every country is built from scratch with hard work, these countries colonised other countries, looted them, enslaved black and other communities. So yeah, not every country has the same past. And definitely they are not rich bcuz they worked hard.
You think that certain countries are poor bcuz the younger generation just laze around and do nothing 😂 while others work hard. In India, weekend is a privilege which only employees in a handful of sectors can enjoy. Literally no other job gives a 2-day weekend. They are already burned out and earn very less and remain poor while all these MNCs make money out of paying low wages to their employees. Millenials don't hate gen z, they are saying no to a lot of abuse that Millenials were put through by boomers. Nature of work has to change
you forgot Gen X ers
Gen Z UA-camrs/vloggers work joyfully no matter how many hours because they are doing what they really care for. So Gen Z or anyone should choose what you really care for
As a millennial who’s adapted to the ever-changing world of work, I actually see a lot of value in how Gen Z approaches things.
Sure, there might be a few who take the ‘quiet quitting’ a bit too seriously, but generalizing an entire generation isn’t just unfair-it’s lazy. In fact, there’s a lot we millennials (even the ‘geriatric’ ones among us) could learn from them. Maybe a golden trade-off is what we all need: a mix of their work-life balance wisdom and our experience. Let’s not dismiss Gen Z; let’s adapt, learn, and maybe even sneak in a yoga break while we’re at it!
We don't accept disrespect. If you want us work extra pay extra. We now understand how companies work. We don't like to be slaves. I'd rather be unemployed and starve.
Yeah but when reality hits, you yourself will be willing to do hard labour to pay the bills.
We can talk all day about how we will remain unemployed until we get the job of our dreams, but we can't survive even one day without a penny in our pocket(not that a penny will change anything). In the end to earn money we have to, well, work.
@@diablo_tempest_310 ofcourse I love working with a target that actually makes sense and humanly possible they have no rights to kill us with stress. Rome was not built in a day nor the hate for corporate slavery with less pay
You call it "corporate slavery" because you can't just waltz into some company fresh out of school and have them kiss your @ss because you think you're so special. You also make the mistake that is typical of sheltered children, assuming that merely because you graduated from some university somewhere that you have a monopoly on job skills and wisdom. I work for a Japanese company here in California that employs about a dozen programmers/developers (mostly C/C++) and guess how many of them are from Gen Z? We have 1 that is under 30, 1 between 30 and 40, a couple who between 40 and 50, the rest are older than that. In fact, the oldest one is about 70. Those older ones are by far the most productive ones, which is why the company prefers them (and compensates them reasonably well - about $160K-200K per year), The biggest problem with the Gen Z types is actually their narcissism and inability to learn from older people, because too many of them confuse "tech skills" with knowing all the features on their phone. 🙄

Excellent work force. Young generation don't want to be slaves like old generation
Oxymoron. Lazy and work force do not mix.
Seems like you're living in delusion and please stop watching too much Insta shit

Both sides of the management line need to understand this.

Means the companies should stop complaining, and work culture has to be upgraded to accommodate Gen Z.
European outsourcing to India started because there people work strict hours. Wherever workers complain, companies move to countries where people want to work and bring results. Companies don't accommodate any Gen. They try to adapt to business scenarios. In areas like workers where they have control, they make choices to move elsewhere.

Why the previous generation work harder:
- They still having a mortgage, they want a second property for 'safer' future, the property is still in profit for long run.
- Their parents taught them to do like that and the peer do that too.
- They watch internet but for leisure/social media usage only
- dreaming one day retire to enjoy 100 days cruise trip cost them 100,000 and can around the world while having rental income.
Why the GenZ doesn't follow:
- If parents already own property(ies), they don't have to worry
- They rather want to 'experience' life rather than slave
- They can lower their expense by just watch youtube/netflix and video games. all could be cheap
- They can now enjoy their life right away and no need work like a slave.

This without any overtime pay while the CEO had two private jets and a whole host of multiple cars. I said no and stood my ground. Few months later they let me go, and I was so glad that it happened because no way was I willing to be any one's slave.
The fact about jumping from intern to CEO is true.. I’m a millennial and I see these GenZ employees who have high dreams and ambitions but don’t want to work hard.. It was the millennial generation, Gen Z, and then Gen X who fought the wars of the 21st century
