    First, great lesson! Love it that you are thoughtful enough to take your time and put this out there for other drummers. You did wonderfully breaking it all down. I really appreciate that you took the time to do that. Now, I must comment about your cymbals. My sweet husband got me a very nice 6-piece drum kit for my birthday. I haven't played in so long that I forgot some stuff. I am actually surprised that I retained a lot of information from back in the day. Some stuff I'm needing a refresher on. I chose this particular song as one of our starter pieces. He loves playing rock on the electric guitar and thought it'd be awesome if we could play together and I'm having a lot of fun remembering, but each time you hit a new cymbal, I get sad. I have a boom, a crash and a high hat. You come on full pro with a wide range of cymbals, when I'm over here, trying to make my limbs go in different directions and once I've got it down, you throw in another cymbal. That's okay, though. I will make it all work somehow...some way. Keep up the awesome work and thanks for putting this video out there.

    • @E7MusicSchool
      @E7MusicSchool  8 років тому +1

      thanks for the input!... thats so great that you have a set! As for me hitting different cymbals, you can simply hit your one crash and that will be sufficient. As for brushing up on your skills, I'd LOVE to do a free lesson for you! If you want 1 free lesson, simply sign up for it on my site **the link is available on any of my videos** and schedule a time. Awesome job! I’m actually working on my first Enter Sandman parody. I’m doing drums, percussion and vocals, 3 parts in one recording. There may also be two guitarists as well as one bassist. It’ll be recorded in a local professional recording studio. After I do the recording, then I’m working on the music video. The music video is gonna be filmed at Boston Children’s Hospital on a dark winter night. That’s why the sky is gonna be dark. I have already picked out my outfit which includes a pair of pajamas, a shirt, and slippers. It’s gonna look be a good one

    Oh MAN! THANK YOU!! I am knocking on 65 and, on a whim, will be jamming with a gigging band that is looking for a drummer. Pretty much all their set list is stuff outside my experience. So far I am able to play about three numbers from their set list. This song is there too but they will send me packing with what I am doing to this song. I could not figure out where those upbeat crashes came in or how to count it out. You answered a ton of questions with this video.. at least now I 'understand' what is going on. You have put it all back on me - it is now up to me to work on what you are teaching. liked and Subscribed :-)

    How about Part 2 so I can see how you do the Pre-Chorus, Chorus, Re-Intro, Verse 2, Pre-Chorus2, Chorus 2,Guitar Solo, Bridge which shows my timing is really off, Chorus 3, Outro and I still have yet to find anyone that can explain how to “FadeOut with drums… ugh

    you are explaining it very clearly man.but still I have a suggestion. can you sometimes show bass similtaneously (like on the one half of the screen) while you are playing or rehearsing the beat ? i think it would make you reach your students more who have good visual skills along with aural skills.
    keep up the good work. lots of love
