Making smaller builds due to burn out is such a real tip. I built stark tower in survival and it took me HOURS especially due to tutorial being hard to follow because it was in creative and being constantly time lapsed. The amount of concrete powder to turn into concrete was absurd even with a farm. The the building process was crazy. I’ve only played Minecraft for about 3 months now and that was honestly extremely for a beginner like myself
for sure!! survival minecraft is *incredibly* tedious and grind-y, not enough people are aware of how much time, energy, and persistence it takes to build a megabase
I built a custom village in my world and I can say if I were to add some advice, is when you are planning, make sure you are confident in your build palette, and the materials that make up said build pallet are hard to get. for me, it was in a desert world so my pallet was red sandstone and sandstone along with terra-cotta. Secondly, roads are everything. in a town especially, if the path doesn’t look good you won’t want to walk the city. And third, making it exactly what you want to be is important. If you don’t make your dreams of a build or multiple builds then you won’t get attached as it's not what you wanted. this video is amazing, keep up the good work.

Thank you for the video! I started working on my first ever mega base yesterday and i'm almost done with my creative world copy. It's a gargantuan ruined tower jutting out of the ocean with underwater railway tunnels at the bottom floor. I have designed it so that I will be able to fit many different farms and redstone contraptions in it. Hopefully these tips will come in handy when I make the final design in my survival world. One good tip would probably have been to first make your base in creative to see if it has any flaws and is practical.

Started an SMP with my friend abt a month and half ago. Our starter base was a hole in the side of a mountain, which we are planning to expand into our megabase, because we can just keep expanding on it. There is a seperate mountain near by and we also plan to build a massive bridge which connects the two, both of which having our base inside. Also means we can work step by step and not overload ourselves with too much.
Loved this video, It was really good at breaking things down to a manageable level. Abstraction is key in big projects and I think you summarized it perfectly!
I feel like there should be a tip #8 which is just talk with a friend. They don’t have to help you or even play with you, but trust me, talking to another person instead of sitting with yourself in silence helps you stay committed. Overall as a person who has built countless mega bases and has over 25,000 hrs in game, this is a great tip for beginners. Keep up the good work
this is a great piece of advice! it's so much easier to focus on the mindless grind aspects of the game when you've got some other distraction, like a show, movie, or better yet like you said - someone to talk to :)
Something that I do when I play Minecraft, (whether I'm resource gathering or just building) is put on a show/podcast to watch/listen to. When I tell you it helps so much when you're doing anything that you hate, like outlining for a build or figuring out designs in creative, I mean it. A podcast I enjoy listening to is 'Distractible' with Markiplier, Bob, and Wade. I promise it makes tasks, whether it be large or small, so much easier .
aww, thank you, i really appreciate that 😊 that was a really sweet comment! this video is definitely my most successful out of any i've ever made, and i'm glad that it's been able to reach people in this way :)
The only real mega base I ever built was back in 1.12 and is was a gigantic sideways square hole in the ocean with smaller squares around it looked really cool for the most parts But yeah ur right the burn out screwed that thing from ever getting finished
it's really difficult 🥲 one one hand, large monotonous projects like the one you described, are very easy to get bored of, but more complex and challenging projects can be very intimidating
right now i am working on a huge video game area, (like a ton of builds based on other video games, specifically nintendo right now), and a huge huge thing that helps me is finding screenshots of the game areas i wish to recreate and putting them in a pinterest board, or even just a discord channel. it personally helps me with scale as well, because i can see the sizes of things compared to eachother in screenshots. another thing i find that helps is getting a world map mod, and then screenshotting the area i’m working with and scribbling stuff over it in an art program like mspaint. i know some people play strictly vanilla but xaeros world map mod helps a ton with me visualizing things :) thanks for this video!! your channel is super underrated and this helped gather some motivation to finally get grinding. edit because i forgot to put this in the original comment: another thing that sometimes helps visualize or plan is building on a creative superflat world, and then using litematica to essentially give a blueprint of what i want to build. this can really help because it will give you an exact material list as well of what you are building. also for those who dislike doing redstone but need farms, some tutorials post their farm worlds online, and you can download the world and make a blueprint of the farm so it is way easier to make!!
that is a very interesting way of planning builds!! thank you for sharing :) it's always neat to see the steps other builders take in their process. personally, i do use litematica to help visualize my builds that i've already planned out in a creative test world, and i occasionally use the material list function as well.

ah yup, i definitely had some issues with the essing in this video - took me a while to get an audio setup i liked, it's much better in my recent videos now though!
my longest burnout for one of my megabases was half a year before i got back to work and by the way make sure u Gather up on all the materials for you´re mega base before hand in order to save more time instead of having to go back and forth from mining and Woodcutting in order to get enough stuff when u could be building
100% agree! i tend to use named blocks in item frames, but honestly, any kind of labeling system works great! i find it very interesting how other players organize their blocks...it feels like a weird bit of insight into how peoples' brains work...
@@LeonSBU I used chests the face out with one side labeled in categories in my storage room 2. That’s the smaller stuff I don’t need tons of. Excess usually gets made into bone meal. Storage room 1 is the terraforming broom with cobblestone, dirt, sand, all that bulk material. And almost everything. Has its own chest. Or row of chests.
what im thinking about doing is a big base with smaller buildings around it, adding story to it bc i like adding story/lore to builds idk why, but im still questioning what to build, and what style
hey there's nothing wrong with that! i think adding a bit of story or 'worldbuilding' behind a large build is really great :) definitely a really fantastic way to inject some more of your passion and enthusiasm into the project!
I joined my friends’ world 2 weeks ago and whenever I do something on that world it’s to make progress for my mega base. I got all the materials and I’m about to build it. It is 1 huge construction though, so we’ll see if I get a burn out. Even if I do, I will probably just take a brake and troll my friends or something, so the chance of not finishing my build will be very slim.
Technically, if you build a base, that fills at least 1,000,000 blocks, it can be called a megabase, because mega is another word for 1,000,000, and base (in this context) means "main place", "foundation", or something similar to that. So technically you could make a big 100 x 100 x 100 cobblestone box, put a bed in there and call it a megabase. Personally i wouldn't do it myself, but again... technically.
Building a village is exhausting enough, i can't imagine myself being that crazy and make mega base😵 I chose to be a builder because I never get bored, however, we as Artist, we are prone to burn outs. I learned from my first attempt to build a village is to gather, A LOT of materials first and create a good storage area...but my second time creating a village, yeah it turns out good but what bothers me is the unorganized blocks in my inventory and my chests. Worst, if you play bedrock edition, it consumes alot of your time just to craft a bunch of stairs or any blocks.
mega bases are nuts! i sometimes feel like the pressure on creators to build massive bases encourages an unhealthy perspective of one's own minecraft builds, that if we aren't building on that same scale our builds aren't "good enough" - as much as i think huge builds are cool, i also don't want to encourage that mentality
dear creator i know your not gonna read this but its fine i am making a project called mission mega base basically i go into creative and make buildings that are big and have depth so far i have made couple things until i realized that my old minecraft world spruce Island and my home base was a mega base but it was made by tutorials but mission mega base only takes inspiration i wanted to say thank you
ikr! i'm really glad i found that island, it's a fantastic build location. never would've found it without an online seed finder, i think it was over 25k blocks from spawn? 😩
How about a tower like structure that in centre water elevators were the outer rings are soul soil and inner magma blocks with just one hole for the beacon This tower will connect to other towers where each component of a base will be like storage ,food farms etc The connection will be through two different pathways one with ice and another just normal and it will also be linked by nether portal There will also be chunk loaders in every tower And most of the farms will be grouped so that there aren't too many towers in the world There will be a castle in the centre as a place for gathering or just chilling; just a common spot or smth Give opinions on this
i just stumbled across this video and its definitely gonna help me because im building massive archways in the water and building a sort of temple/dojo
thank you!! :) and to answer your question, i think it depends on the build - if we're talking about an organized, planned out, large city build, then having a set of orderly grid roads is very important. in that case, i think it's very helpful to be able to create city blocks of uniform sizes, before you start laying down your buildings. however, if your build is more organic and freeform, such as a rural countryside, then try laying down the buildings first. in situations like this, pathways would naturally form as people walk around the area, finding the most efficient ways to get between different spots. maybe you had a small frontier town that started as just a railroad stop by a mine, and gradually expanded to include more homes and businesses. this type of town would have the railroad track as a central location, and roads would be formed by people walking from their homes to the mine, and to stores, etc. hopefully this helps!
Leon i might need help im now building a castle for a base but my idea is a village surrounding the castle and every build is gonna be small but the castle is huge (60x30) is that a good idea since you said not too big
i think this can definitely work! if you're familiar with hermitcraft, this idea reminds me a lot of BDoubleO's base from season 7 - he built an outlying village first, and then later went in and added a huge castle on a hill. so i'd suggest making the village first, if you burn out on the castle (which sounds like it would be a larger project) you'll still have a cool village build!
@@LeonSBU thanks for the tips i would start working on the village but i wont wait for the end to put the castle since its a working one it would have the chest erea and auto smelter so i will need it pretty soon but it could wait since i still have the starter erea
Take breaks! gives your mind time to rest, and its ok to come back later, work on something else or help your friends out while building yourself up to go tackle the build, just dont procrastinate, or youll end up unfinished
I'm currently mining down to bedrock a map sized area, in the centre of the world, below will be storage and in the centre a beacon with a monument of diamonds and ancient debris. Also mining a few bastions for the black stone, burnout certainly a problem but I'd say some music, a podcast or a video on another monitor if you have more than 1
thx!! my next video (releasing on 1/15), is actually going to be focusing entirely on motivation and ways to enjoy minecraft survival for longer - i hope you enjoy :)
I'm planning to build a giant tree and on top, there's gonna be sky islands connected to the leaves and branches by chains. I'm probably gonna put every single biome on the islands.
So I'm playing a create mod server with my friends and the second option is actually something that we found it at a massive. I think it's around a thousand blocks cave and it's all a lush cave and we're building a giant like woodland houses base, hanging from the ceiling, the walls and everything over as our megabase
42,000 grass blocks collected and placed… is 1/8 of my mega base’s platform… yup. Tip: do stuff in between. Work on different projects while doing this and make farms to make it easier.
I’m not saying this is a bad thing… but sometimes when he talks, it sounds like Shayne Topp’s chosen one voice. (If you see this, I swear I don’t mean it in a bad way)
Hey, thank you for the video. My friends and I are planning on a world with huge bases (megabases...) and this video helped me a lot figering out how to do this kind of builds properly. But I still have a question: what Texture/Resource Pack do you use to get this type of grass block ( 4:20 for example)? I couldn't find the right one, so please help me out, keep up the good work! :)
thank you!! glad it was helpful :) as for the grass texture, i use a variety of texture changes from VanillaTweaks, which allows you to pick and choose from a collection of small, vanilla-esque resource packs: vanillatweaks.net/picker/resource-packs/

I chose to be a builder because I never get bored, however, we as Artist, we are prone to burn outs.
I learned from my first attempt to build a village is to gather, A LOT of materials first and create a good storage area...but my second time creating a village, yeah it turns out good but what bothers me is the unorganized blocks in my inventory and my chests. Worst, if you play bedrock edition, it consumes alot of your time just to craft a bunch of stairs or any blocks.
mega bases are nuts! i sometimes feel like the pressure on creators to build massive bases encourages an unhealthy perspective of one's own minecraft builds, that if we aren't building on that same scale our builds aren't "good enough" - as much as i think huge builds are cool, i also don't want to encourage that mentality
dear creator i know your not gonna read this but its fine i am making a project called mission mega base basically i go into creative and make buildings that are big and have depth so far i have made couple things until i realized that my old minecraft world spruce Island and my home base was a mega base but it was made by tutorials but mission mega base only takes inspiration i wanted to say thank you
hey! i did in fact read this :) and you're very welcome! i'm glad you found this video useful
This guy deserves millions more subs, good content, keep it up.
thank you! new 7 Quick Tips video coming out in a few days :))
Great Video! Simply helped me right now to calm down a bit and sort things out 👍
very happy to hear!! thank you :)
There’s no way this dude only has 5k subs this is the quality of at least 500k!!
aaaa thank you ((: perhaps we will reach 500k one day!
The Mushroomisnald in the coral reef is such a cool place by itself
ikr! i'm really glad i found that island, it's a fantastic build location. never would've found it without an online seed finder, i think it was over 25k blocks from spawn? 😩
Ima be honest i was completely listening to the explanation of the mega prefix with 100% focus 💀

This channel is so underrated 🥺🥺 I love it so much👀🫶🏻💕
thank you ☺️ it means a lot, i appreciate that!
Can't wait to try these! Thank you
nice!! hope it works for you :)
I've started my project, it's coming along great!
Pretty accurate words you use!
with such quality to the edits on your video I wouldn't be surprised if you rose to the top Minecraft youtubers within a couple months / a year
thank you!! we'll see where we end up in a year 8)
How about a tower like structure that in centre water elevators were the outer rings are soul soil and inner magma blocks with just one hole for the beacon
This tower will connect to other towers where each component of a base will be like storage ,food farms etc
The connection will be through two different pathways one with ice and another just normal and it will also be linked by nether portal
There will also be chunk loaders in every tower
And most of the farms will be grouped so that there aren't too many towers in the world
There will be a castle in the centre as a place for gathering or just chilling; just a common spot or smth
Give opinions on this
i just stumbled across this video and its definitely gonna help me because im building massive archways in the water and building a sort of temple/dojo
glad to hear :) good luck with your project! archways in the water sound very dope
this channel is so underrated, but has the quality of the top notch channels with millions of subscribers. you deserve more subs :D

I enjoyed your family ❤️
You'll be big soon your videos are so good
i'm hoping for the same thing (: thank you!
For some reason i built a semi-auto tree farm FIRST in my world 😂 (Im pocket edition so tnt dupe dont work)
These are some very good tips! Well done, I loved it. One question: would you build roads before buildings or after?
@@LeonSBU thanks for the tips i would start working on the village but i wont wait for the end to put the castle since its a working one it would have the chest erea and auto smelter so i will need it pretty soon but it could wait since i still have the starter erea
ah yeah, if you're putting infrastructure items in the castle like farms and storage, it's definitely worth building up some of it first :)
Take breaks! gives your mind time to rest, and its ok to come back later, work on something else or help your friends out while building yourself up to go tackle the build, just dont procrastinate, or youll end up unfinished
very great advice for sure!
I can see a lot of work went into this video! And it was great!
thank you! :)
love your work and thanks for the tips :D
you're very welcome! i'm glad you enjoyed :)
really cool tips, do you have any design ideas? im having trouble thinking of one myself.
i love the effort put into this video, it was very helpful and entertaining :)
thank you! i appreciate it :)
I'm currently mining down to bedrock a map sized area, in the centre of the world, below will be storage and in the centre a beacon with a monument of diamonds and ancient debris. Also mining a few bastions for the black stone, burnout certainly a problem but I'd say some music, a podcast or a video on another monitor if you have more than 1
Very good videos and I really like your editing skills, subscribed!
thank you! :)
My strategy so far was to pick biggest mountain I can find and build everything inside. I might have a soul of a dwarf.
Thanks for the tips man 👍
no prob! :)
@@LeonSBU thank you for answering me on such an old video🥹
Him: burnout is a real thing
Me: catches on fire*
This video is amazing, I legit thought you were one of the UA-camrs that has millions of subscribers from the thumbnail. Overall, great video!

@@LeonSBU alright I'll keep that in mind, keep up the good work man
underrated channel D:, usefull content, thx
thank you!! (:
I'm planning to build a giant tree and on top, there's gonna be sky islands connected to the leaves and branches by chains. I'm probably gonna put every single biome on the islands.
that sounds dope! i hope it goes well :) giant trees are super tough, i definitely recommend planning as much as you can ahead of time
I suggest you do a video of you building an insane mega base in a time-lapse!
i definitely will! i gotta get back and actually finish the build for this video sometime soon....will lyk when that happens :)
@@LeonSBU your channel has so much potential and you're doing an amazing work!
@@Anova_Studio thank you so much!! it rly means a lot (((:
thank you soo much very direct link n works for me love the way you expressed the installation .
So I'm playing a create mod server with my friends and the second option is actually something that we found it at a massive. I think it's around a thousand blocks cave and it's all a lush cave and we're building a giant like woodland houses base, hanging from the ceiling, the walls and everything over as our megabase
that sounds super cool!! hope the project turns out well :)
Fine video! Thank you, leon)
thank you!
Very high production value, plus informative
thank you! :)
42,000 grass blocks collected and placed… is 1/8 of my mega base’s platform… yup. Tip: do stuff in between. Work on different projects while doing this and make farms to make it easier.
ur nuts dude!!! good luck :)) also, that's really great advice
This convinced me to try a mega build despite my… lack of talent let’s say
nice! i hope all goes well :)
*nice, you earned a sub my g*
thx! glad to have ya here :)
this video helped me create better bases the tips were realy good
thank you! (:
I’m not saying this is a bad thing… but sometimes when he talks, it sounds like Shayne Topp’s chosen one voice. (If you see this, I swear I don’t mean it in a bad way)
idk who that is but i feel u, my voice gets funky sometimes :))
Broo ur content and editing is amazing I can't believe u only have 2k subs well u earned a new sub
thank you my dude!! glad to have ya here (:
Tysm for this tutorial
glad you enjoyed it :)
Thank you!
you're welcome! :)
thank you!! glad it was helpful :)
as for the grass texture, i use a variety of texture changes from VanillaTweaks, which allows you to pick and choose from a collection of small, vanilla-esque resource packs: vanillatweaks.net/picker/resource-packs/
I’m doing a flat survival world right now and it has my first mega build and probably my only one due to the massive pain it has been. They do look cool though. Mines not even that complicated just big.
Thx for the video
no prob! glad you liked it :)
When you find this video becuz of the algorithim, Intresting video, subbing rn
thx!! much appreciated :)
