    Perch Fishing Rigs, Tips & Tactics
    For this latest episode we took the cameras down to a little local lake with the hope of targeting a few Perch or two.
    We had a few requests recently about Perch fishing, so we thought we'd make a video to show how we'd go about targeting them, demonstrating the baits, rigs and tactics we like to use.
    We knew the lake we were fishing held fish to around 1lb, but secretly we were hoping for a fish around the 2lb mark.
    As always we hope you find this video informative and of course enjoyable.

    Replacement arrived!By the way, I did forget to mention that the original lure did have a decent strike however as most anglers will attest you can get a hit ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 and fish will hang on and release lure. I used the replacement lure yesterday and ran thru a Shimano Waxwing, Kastmaster, Bobber (set to sink). I found the does run deep (I casting on the flats 3.5'). Make sure you adjust your rate of retrieve and rod tip angle (up) to prevent getting snagged on bottom. Used it a couple of times and action was very lifelike (looked like local bait fish for trevally), craftsmanship very good....however eyeball fell out. I asked for replacement and it is on it's way! It was very easy to change out treble to single inline hook.

    Great tactics 👌 me and my m8 Myke fished flushing meadows at Acton Bridge in Northwich the other day, he used prawn on a quiver tip rod and worm on a float rod, Myke caught 1 mirror carp and 2 common carp on prawn rod only (prawns soaked in predator juice) and bream and Perch only on worm. Its a mixed coarse fishery. I was using maggots and with worms on the float, I only caught roach, skimmers, Bream.....was a tough windy day and it was blowing a gale all morning......tight lines.

    I've never seen someone take so much stuff with them to catch some yellow perch.. A light weight rod and a few packs of beetle spins and you are set for the day with perch.

    • @FromTheWatersEdgeTV
      @FromTheWatersEdgeTV  7 років тому +10

      It depends how you want to target Perch, we do sometimes lure fish for them with minimal gear - this video was just one way (of many) on how you can catch and fish for them.

      These aren't Yellow Perch (Perca flavescens) these are European Perch (Perca fluviatilis) and taste totally different. I like to fish a more mobile, light tackle, 1 rod and 1 reel for everything style of fishing and perch fishing is my favourite when I can't find trout. Lots of UK fishermen, especially match anglers, take a ton of gear with them. They seem to be enjoying themselves, though.

    nice fishing! you seem to be very serious about the rigs,bait,and way you fish them! if i was fishing there for perch i would wanna just throw jig spinners with soft plastics,and similar small lures.lead heads with curl tails on them ect.

    I noticed that your hat was ripped in the back, i'm not saying it's bad and i feel you if it's your lucky hat or something but if you would to make it look not ripped you can just cut the top part off and have the circular band with the front flap still attached, this way you can keep the cap and not have it be ripped. Again idc if you keep it the same or if you choose to trim it off. I just figured i would share my thoughts. Pce

    Vad ska jag köpa mc mio eller mc rubber?

  • @erikkitvisets213
    @erikkitvisets213 6 років тому

    Buy a mepps aglia spinner for 5$ in Size 1 or 2 for other species as well , better than spending 2$ for prawns every time. And also use silver for stained/turbid water and gold for clear waters, you can get a painted blade or a plain gold/silver one and to be honest actually, i don’t know what the difference is.

      Nice one Erik, we familiar with the Mepps spinners, we'll have to give them a go at some stage! :-) Hope you've been catching a few fish.

      Anything between 10ft and 13ft is pretty normal Dan. (That's here in the Uk anyway, I know they use shorter around the world.)

    I've been fishing Perch all my life, and I can say that they're not sensitive to resistance or big hooks. Maybe it's different here in Sweden, I don't know.

      Totally up to you mate. If you’re fishing for bigger perch it would be quite rough, where as if you’re fishing for smaller perch it’d be pretty fine.

      Niko Mankinen to be affected by poison it has to be ingested. I believe venomous is the word you’re looking for. And even so, their fins are not venomous, just very sharp.

    6 pound line !
    i would say 2 pound max , not many Perch around over that, i know Perch over a pound give a good scrap and like to try and shake the hook but they dont weigh much in the water.

    • @Thestralis
      @Thestralis 8 років тому

      +RAT1969 I use a 10-pound line, I caught a perch once on it.
      I was like "wait... I have a bite, that was the most subtle bite ever," I reel it up and I'm like "WOAH I CAUGHT A PERCH! (sigh) but it's too small to eat..." *It was only 4 inches long.*

    Only the poms could make Redfin fishing so complicated and rigidly organised. All that organisation and still forgot the beer. Criminal offence here to return Redfin or carp to the water

    • @YouADamnWitch
      @YouADamnWitch 9 років тому

      The setup is a bit much for my tastes. But I would suppose you need that much kit in a high pressure fishery. I live in the Eastern-ish U.S. not a problem getting perch to bite.
