connor magnuson Not really it is more like a story that really shows Batman's psychology.and who Batman really is. And to see if the Batman's mind can be broken. It is way more than just another Red Hood story.
I would have preferred to have more Red Hood in the game, but it does kinda make sense. He had been trying to kill him all night (the longest night ever), and then after realizing that he was wrong, decided to make it right (after gassing the entire city and kidnapping his friends). Given the type of guy he is, his relationship with Batman plus probably being kinda embarrassed/shameful about the whole thing he realistically wouldn't stick around that long afterwards. He kept an eye on him enough to make sure he didn't die to make up for the mess he made, but they're probably not going to be bffs considering their opposing ideologies when it comes to "dealing" with criminals (but not their actual goals overall).
I’m mean the actual story of red hood is that Jason Todd was killed by the joker then brought back to life by Ras al ghoul using a laserise put which does often drive people insane so Jason basically went to hell and back and in this game I can only imaging the pain that Jason is going through he thought batman had left him and when he realised that wasn’t true he couldn’t face himself to stick around

jeff peake Not really, they exhausted both Batman and his villains, so now it's perfect timing for Dawn of Justice Arkham style game focusing on the three heroes who represent the DC Universe and their respected villains.
Well he’s got a job man. He’s not gonna stop for one second, even if it means dealing with the Joker in the mind. Though this does gives us some insight about one of Jokers most infamous lines. When he was asked who he was, he replied “I prefer myself as multiple choices”. Which does sorta show here with the Joker copies and Batman. So it’s probably how he’s still alive even today. Because at the end of the day… you just can’t kill a good joke
SPOILER!!!!!! im at the part where the joker starts harassing batman and I just realized that joker is in the game just to troll us and batman. Kind of like youtube comments
You know, I've never donated to anyone, but I have watched so many of your videos, you've saved me so much time on all the games I've wanted to play but just didn't have the time. You put a lot of work into these and they are great quality. Kudos, here's a little something for your effort my friend.
SPOILERS Am I the only one who thought the only bad part of the game was actually the Arkham Knight? Even before we knew it was Jason, he was annoying. They played him up to be this mysterious villain and every time we see him he's whining about wanting to kill Batman and is a nuisance trying and failing to taunt him. Then, just by hearing him talk, it was so obvious who it was. The flashbacks threw all the suspense out the window. I feel they could've easily come up with a new character like they promised! Everything else I really enjoyed.
I know what you mean I felt like it didn't deliver, but I understand the direction they tried to go in I'm pretty sure the flashbacks were suppose to throw you back after watching him "die." I still liked his presentation. (although the boss fight seems a bit repetitive)
jdogg91798 there are no proper boss fights in this game. I personally, didn't like the story all. It's a cheap, slightly rewritten, shorter and crappier version of two already existing storylines (the red hood, and knightfall), only to have the entire thing end with a terribly anticlimactic "deus ex machina" moment. And the "full" ending, should be renamed to "Nolan" ending.
When you hear Frank Sinatra music and the first guys voice you hear is that of Mike Ehrmantraut, than you know that this game was destined to be legendary.
DON'T GIVE ME ANY SPOILERS. I HAVEN'T SEEN THE FULL VIDEO. In the intro......... "This is how Batman died." 0_0 Oh Bruce Wayne's legacy of being Batman......right? 😰😰

This is exactly what I wanted. Scarecrow is my absolute favorite comic book villain and even though he was incredible in Asylum, I always felt he deserved more. Now he's the main villain! Finally, some respect for the master of fear
This Joker as a main villain in every Batman game was boring already. Finally they did some change, Scarecrow is good as a main villain. Now I want to see Rás Al Ghúl as a main villain.
Thank you for putting in the Scarecrow monologue at 2:06:21. I stumbled across it myself purely by accident while replaying it one day, and I squealed.
@@markuscraig7945 The problem is probably more that there's too much going on for him to show up that much in a story where he's not the main villain, not to mention dead. There's already the Arkham Knight plus Scarecrow, and Jason is more prevalent in the game since it's building up to his reveal. The Joker is in the game even more than Scarecrow is, which shouldn't be the case considering the Joker has already been the main villain for multiple games in a row. He wasn't really needed for the game except a few scenes here and there (or even just Jason's past cutscenes), yet they put him in anyway because whenever anyone else is the villain, people just want the Joker (which is a shame, Batman has so many great villains). I love Joker, but give someone else a turn.
Too bad Gamer's Little Playground doesn't include the side missions in the video. The side missions of Arkham Knight are amazing. In them, you get to encounter other iconic Batman villains. Certain story lines from Arkham City and Arkham Origins are completed in them. Such include storylines of Catwoman, Riddler, Two-Face, Mad Hatter, Mr Freeze, Azrael, Ra's al Ghul and the League of Shadows, Firefly and Hush (the identity thief)
Caleb Hu maybe that's what Joker meant when he said (along the lines..) "the grey is turning to green" or something..meaning your heroic character, the one you looked up to as an idol, will be perished and reconstructed into your worst enemy--me! (Joker) xD
DaIndieGodFather Nope? Is there a reason, then? I'm new to this batman world, I've only recently gotten into it (currently watching batman the animated series) what's the actual reason, then?
When I first played this game, I thought The Arkham Knight was going to be Damien Wayne getting revenge for his mother's death. That could have been a cool storyline somehow ending with Damien taking over as Batman.
I love all of your Batman Arkham "movies" and I also love all of the Arkham games I see you play. They are so amazing and very cool. Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill are so amazing voice actors
Anyone else just groan whenever Jason Todd or Dick Robin was on screen - BORING!!! Also, as soon as they started showing Todd getting beaten up by the Joker, the mystery of the Arkham Knight's identity immediately died...
Brian Colfxire It was predictable, but the game redeemed itself with their rather intimidating depiction of Scarecrow, and , like the Joker and Batman, he had a philosophical point to prove behind his actions: that all men are the sum of their hopes and fears...
Don't forget Flash to Reverse Flash (accidentally). They've done it in Marvel too, but I can't think of any specific examples whereas I can name several in DC comics, so DC neck snaps are more noteworthy I suppose? (and overall I'm more of a Marvel fan).
Like this if you totally predicted Jason Todd being the Arkham Knight XD I was actually pissed how they portrayed Jason Todd in the trailer for his Story pack but this has definitely made it up!
A personal thank you for this. I wasn't fortunate enough to get the game at launch and my curiosity got the better of me. Little disappointed with who the Knight turned out to be. It was obviously him, and they even put him in the game as himself to throw us off. I wanted to believe it was someone else/new. Anyway ty
3:45:00 Lego Floor. Wat. Also, Poison Ivy... that was entirely unexpected for her to do... while I hate the games for bashing on Harley and her "stupidity", Ivy's finale was beautiful.
I wouldn't call her "stupid". Just ditzy. And I do agree with you about poison ivy. When I first played, I didn't expect her to die. I mean, she and Joker are supposed to be immune to chemicals/toxins. No. I think they made that as her faking her death to escape batman. Or, likely, they made it her final act of redemption.
Am I the only person amazed by Scarecrow’s transformation? Last we interacted with him was in Asylum and dude had the body of a 14 year old, the voice of one too. Scrawny, high-pitched voice, dressed to the nines in rags and tubing to sell the ‘crazed doctor’ aesthetic- dude was literally in a loincloth made from the asylum uniform, medical tubings, his lil potato sac for a head covering, and the noose. He worked entirely around his needle glove, didn’t get overly involved in the fight, especially physically. Here? Dude’s actually menacing. The voice is deep and foreboding, threatening even. The updated character design really sells the ‘I am the Scarecrow, fear me and yourself,” thing he’s doing for. It’s impressive that they took this absolute wimp from Asylum and made him the main antagonist in the final game, one hell of a turnaround.
This was one of my favorite Batman Arkham games along with Arkham origins, and City. I still get jump scared whenever manbat appeared. The part with Poison Ivy died was one of the most emotional scenes to Barbara is sad.
Final thoughts, after seeing this this was truly amazing, gameplay looks brilliant (though they could be more creative with moveset and the KO of mooks who have the same reaction of past games) and I did have issue with some plot points but the story overall was amazing, and surprised mark Hamill made a return. The game looks as fun to play as it is to watch!
AeluronLightsong For me, I would rate about the same. Batmobile is a lot of fun, but we got too many tank battles and too little hand to hand combat boss battles. Also would have been nice to be able to play as other character within the main story, even if it was just like an episode the way Harley Quinn and Red Hood are. But yeah, for me the main thing is that the tank battles get dull after the 20th time.
Drones? Seriously? You don't send giant death machines into Gotham and design them in a way so that Batman has no trouble using deadly force against them. If they were manned, he wouldn't be willing to blow them up because of the drivers, but no, instead it's all drones, drones, drones. In addition, Scarecrow's posturing stops being frightening and becomes tiring and annoying as you progress. I mean, you wipe out all of the drones, thwart his fear gas bombs twice, reduce his partner-in-crime to a blubbering mess (who later joins your side by the endgame), and put hundreds of his men in body casts, and he STILL goes on the screens to talk about how he's going to "destroy the legend of the Batman", even when he has NOTHING LEFT. Scarecrow only got as far as he did out of pure luck.
Nah, you're making the mistake of trying to pick apart gameplay elements that will always be designed to allow a player to win. It's fantasy so writers can come up with literally any justification they like for anything in the game and it's fine. For example, what if I say they used drones over manned because they are cheaper to produce because they skip training personnel for manned tanks? I made that up and now drones make sense. If they were manned anyway, Batman would still have a way to win with the batmobile if that's what game developers wanted to happen. You are thinking that if they were manned, Batman in this game would still be using a gun that explodes the tanks, but that's dumb. They would just give him some kind of electric gun that disables tanks and it'd be the same gameplay, just no explosions. You also don't understand the point of the ending. Scarecrow was confident in his victory because he believed his fear toxin was irresistible, and that the world seeing Batman reduced to a hysterical fear would destroy Batman forever, no matter what he lost to get to that point. Obviously, because Batman is Batman and a hero, that could never happen but villains aren't going to know that. Basically you did not understand the game.
***** but all he has is the EMP blast that he gets later in the game. His Batmobile was pre-designed to take on drones before he even knew drones were going to invade the city. If they had sent manned tanks, he would be unequipped to deal with them. If Batman succumbs to the fear toxin, Scarecrow still loses. Nobody's afraid of him when he has nothing left to cause mass panic except for Batman. Superman could just fly in and stop him since he is now ONLY ONE GUY. Hell, the entire plot of this game could be solved by Batman calling Superman for assistance, since nothing the militia could throw at Superman short of kryptonite could scratch him. Even if Batman succumbs to fear, the police know where he is and could storm Arkham and arrest him. Batman would recover from the fear toxin after a while and initiate the Knightfall Protocol anyway.
But that is what I am saying. Of course the Batmobile is designed to take on drones before Batman the character knows drones are coming because the game developers are the ones who made the game, not Batman. I am saying if those tanks were manned, then the game developers would not give you a Batmobile with weapons that would kill people inside tanks, there would just be a weapon with a different name that destroys manned tanks without killing its crew. It boils down to asking why "Villains do this, when they would win if they did that" when the answer is simply because there would be no game if they did that. You see, your Superman thing is the same thing. It is a fundamental misunderstanding you have about videogame vs. the world the videogame is based on. All a game developer has to say to destroy your argument is write a tedious, pointless line in game about how "Superman is battling an evil god 1 million light years away and can't help Batman right now." See? It would just be wasting time to spell that out for players. The only point of Scarecrow's plan is to destroy Batman nothing else. Gotham is doomed without Batman so anything about Scarecrow or Superman fixing things won't matter because only Batman stands in the way of Gotham destroying itself with crime. Even in comics they showed Superman is useless in Gotham because the whole city is corrupt and putting villains in prison doesn't matter.
***** that's not an excuse for a poor plan. They have a character who KNOWS how Batman works, and yet they roll out a plan practically tailor-made for him to ruin. Arkham Knight often has Batman cornered, but Scarecrow tells him to let him live for the sake of his dumb theatrics when he knows that the longer Batman is active, the greater the chances of him ruining his plan. If they were manned and they changed Batman's arsenal to suit that, that would be one thing, but it doesn't make sense in the context of the game to send drones after a guy who will not kill, but is more than happy to smash millions of dollars of equipment to save the city. I could write a better plan; simply remove the drones, and equip all of AK's militia with effective counters to strategies most Arkham players are familiar with, forcing Batman (and through him, the player) to use unconventional strategies to win, so that when they lose, it's because Batman got the better of them, instead of giving him perfect opportunities to thwart them at every turn. In addition, have Arkham Knight and Scarecrow be setting up situations that try to force Batman to break his own rules to succeed. They should be trying to force him to kill, to be above the law, to do things the public would lose faith in him for. In addition, the side villains should actually contribute to the plan instead of just running rampant in the city doing whatever they please. They're supposed to be helping Scarecrow, but all they're really doing is creating distractions and being nuisances. In the story, they pooled all their money to fund Scarecrow's operation, but they should actually be helping him carry it out if they're going to even bother.
To be honest my opinion is that your plan is pretty much same plan as the in-game plan. Batmobile was unconventional. It was the first time player used it in an Arkham game, which is basically what people hated most about this game. Point is it was a new mechanic. They did lose because Batman got the better of them. I don't see how they lost otherwise. Their only big mistake was the Knight fighting Batman 1v1 with the tank and losing, even though the tank came back later. They didn't try to force him to kill because pretty sure everyone believes that is pointless. Batman has shown many times he is willing to lose everything plus die to not kill, so it would be pretty stupid for villains to try to get Batman to do the thing he never does. The other villains being distractions is the only thing they could do. The main reason for the plan is the villains' belief that beating Batman conventionally is impossible, and that he will beat them everytime, like he always has. Not only that, in the end Scarecrow gets everything he wants. He takes Gordon and Robin hostage and has Batman completely immobilized and outs his secret identity. The reason why the plan failed had literally nothing to do with the villains making mistakes; they lost because they underestimated Batman's crazy mental fortitude. Everyone exposed to fear toxin goes crazy and loses themselves plus Batman has Joker blood, yet Batman does not break. The plan was executed to the exact end predicted, yet it fails nobody realized, not even his friends like Robin, just how insanely strong Batman's mind is. I think this game sucked. I hate this game, but in my opinion these reasons aren't why the game is bad.

Daniel Maximoff I really don't think that is possible man.
jeff peake Not really, they exhausted both Batman and his villains, so now it's perfect timing for Dawn of Justice Arkham style game focusing on the three heroes who represent the DC Universe and their respected villains.
I have been watching this over the past 4 days (busy as heck) but loved the way you have edited it... You are Batman 👍
The fact Batman operated so well with the joker hallucinations is crazy
Well he’s got a job man. He’s not gonna stop for one second, even if it means dealing with the Joker in the mind. Though this does gives us some insight about one of Jokers most infamous lines. When he was asked who he was, he replied “I prefer myself as multiple choices”. Which does sorta show here with the Joker copies and Batman. So it’s probably how he’s still alive even today. Because at the end of the day… you just can’t kill a good joke

Batman calls Barbara Oracle to conceal her identity but he has no problem showing her face in a monitor every time he contacts her.

Am I the only one who thought the only bad part of the game was actually the Arkham Knight?
I think it was cool having a villain who knew most of batman's secrets and tricks.
Yeah they didn't do a great job of covering it up.
jdogg91798 there are no proper boss fights in this game.
Merlith Gero Oh so its Nolan's fault this game sucks now
When you hear Frank Sinatra music and the first guys voice you hear is that of Mike Ehrmantraut, than you know that this game was destined to be legendary.

You know what I just noticed about the people infected with Jokers blood? They’re all major pieces of the Joker. The Goliath is the strength and pain tolerance. Johnny C. is the unpredictability and creativity. Christina is the ferocity and anger. Henry is the unseen intelligence. Whereas Bats is all of them combined

This Joker as a main villain in every Batman game was boring already. Finally they did some change, Scarecrow is good as a main villain. Now I want to see Rás Al Ghúl as a main villain.

I love the Joker and all, but damn! He's in this game WAY TOO MUCH. Which is ironic, since he's dead. LOL
No he isnt. In the end sure. But most of it. Its just here and there.

PaperVisage nope

I love all of your Batman Arkham "movies" and I also love all of the Arkham games I see you play. They are so amazing and very cool. Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill are so amazing voice actors
Anyone else just groan whenever Jason Todd or Dick Robin was on screen - BORING!!! Also, as soon as they started showing Todd getting beaten up by the Joker, the mystery of the Arkham Knight's identity immediately died...

Demonflesh spawn The mystery of the Arkham Knight died for me the second he opened his mouth.
UngeniousIdea Yup, his syntax gave it right away. Come on, what other Batman character talks like that besides Jason Todd?
Demonflesh spawn So was that part with Batman going into the cell a game-over segment?
Brian Colfxire It was predictable, but the game redeemed itself with their rather intimidating depiction of Scarecrow, and , like the Joker and Batman, he had a philosophical point to prove behind his actions: that all men are the sum of their hopes and fears...
Anyone else notice that the guy who voiced Jim Jordan is Jonathan banks a.k.a the guy who played Mike on breaking bad

I guess snapping the enemy's neck, is a DC thing. Interesting.
Matches Malone It is. Batman to The Joker in The Dark Knight Returns. Wonder Woman to Maxwell Lord. Superman to Zod. Telos to The Joker (New Earth).
No. There's been a few in Marvel, as well. Especially, in the darker comics/storylines.
Don't forget Flash to Reverse Flash (accidentally). They've done it in Marvel too, but I can't think of any specific examples whereas I can name several in DC comics, so DC neck snaps are more noteworthy I suppose? (and overall I'm more of a Marvel fan).
The whole "this demonstration" speech honestly spooked me whenever I first saw it. John Noble was PERFECT for this version of scarecrow

R.I.P. Kevin Conroy
Man 🥺 these games are sacred now everyone agrees 😞💔

This was one of my favorite Batman Arkham games along with Arkham origins, and City. I still get jump scared whenever manbat appeared. The part with Poison Ivy died was one of the most emotional scenes to Barbara is sad.
Final thoughts, after seeing this this was truly amazing, gameplay looks brilliant (though they could be more creative with moveset and the KO of mooks who have the same reaction of past games) and I did have issue with some plot points but the story overall was amazing, and surprised mark Hamill made a return. The game looks as fun to play as it is to watch!
Is anyone here cause the just said FUCK IT! It's getting spoiled tonight.
yep
Kelbie Davidson hahaha Best comment of the week!
This guy needs a fucking vacation.
My final rating for this game is 8.5 or 9/10. Much as I love this game to death, I do believe there were some things holding it back.
The tank battles and the Batman identity reveal(Don't like that) and Knightfall protocol. I love thee batmobile bu there was a lot of tank battles.
the gameplay and most of the side missions are top tier, but the story itself is so contrived and boring, lots of wasted potential.
Drones?
This game was wayyyyyy ahead of its time, it’s awesome
