Batman learns of a breakout at Blackgate Prison led by Black Mask that has taken Commissioner Gillian B. Loeb hostage. Arriving at the Prison, Batman discovers a ferocious humanoid crocodile like creature calling himself Killer Croc aiding Black Mask. Tracking Black Mask and Loeb to the execution chamber, Black Mask states that he's starting a clean slate, of which Loeb is not a part.
Simultaneously releasing Calendar Man and killing Loeb in his place, Black Mask makes his escape while Killer Croc fights Batman. Defeating Croc, Batman threatens to break his teeth while Croc mockingly explains that Black Mask has set up a contest of sorts inviting 8 of the world's top assassins to kill Batman in one night for a $50 million dollar bounty.
Escaping the GCPD as they retake the prison, Batman goes back to the Batcave to analyze the data from a drone he found in the prison and learns that including Killer Croc there are a total of 8 assassins trying to kill Batman

I want this Bruce/Alfred dynamic in the Matt Reeves Batman film. I want a young Batman still just full of fury and rage, blind to the need to accept help, and an Alfred who recognizes he's in too deep and not prepared for what's being thrown at him. That line about him being the reason criminals breathe easy when the sun rises is fucking gold.
That scene made me loved this game it felt so real and for a story set I the early days of Batman it’s so fitting
Yeah I feel like it’s a really underrated scene and game in general. From the looks of it we are getting that young angry Batman so now we just gotta wait and see the Bruce/Alfred dynamic.
if batfleck makes a comeback i do want this to happen with him. then they can 2 batman movies, one that revolves around the joker & the death of robin & one that revolves around deathstroke & the court of owls potentially that could lead us to the 3rd movie

What makes Arkham Origins so great:
1. Batman's suit looks like actual protective armor rather than leather that *might* be thick enough to stop a knife.
2. The trailer looks like it could have been live action.
3. People thinking batman is an urban legend is oddly satisfying
4. It was one of the better games to play on the Wii U.
5. DeathStroke looks awesome and is probably the best boss fight in the game (and arguably the hardest).
6. The Batwing has never looked more cool.
7. Introducing the villians at the start of the game.
8. Stopping Bane's Heart.
9. Starting Bane's Heart.
10. Bane turning into the hulk.
11. Inside Joker's mind.
12. Gordon is voiced by the same actor as Jarl Balgruff
13. The Joker was voiced by Troy Baker.
1. Because the costume is a costume. The armor is typically UNDER the suit, not the suit itself. Making it look more like armor makes it look less like supernatural creature of the night, which defeats the whole purpose in the first place of being Batman and not just any other random vigilante.
That's how it was like in the comics
Batman had heavy armor as he wasnt an skilled at that time but he switched to the suit he used in asylum and city becuase he was more skilled at that point so the padding just slowed him down but in knight they found a way to make a stronger suit that also let him be faster

The conversation at 2:12:45 between Alfred and Bruce is what makes these games so great! It’s not just “ooh beat up bad guys and win”... which it is 😅, BUT it’s also Batman and his struggles, what he goes through, not just fighting criminals but everything else he had to deal with. I think this game was way underrated

Honestly I love it too. Especially when Alfred tries to tell Bruce he’s out matched and in return Batman goes “I’m WHAT?!” Almost as if he’s genuinely insulted by Alfred insinuating that these people can possibly beat him.
This game is criminally underrated
It's because everyone possessed an inherent bias due to the traditional developers of the Arkham series, Rocksteady was not making it. Instead, it was WB Games. I still love it just as much as the other Arkham games

2:12:45 Roger Craig Smith kills it as both Bruce and Batman in this scene. His voice changes throughout the argument and you see both personas at once.
This game just might be my favorite one in the series. It gets criticized just because Rocksteady didn't make it? I love Rocksteady but they neglected the concept of boss fights in Arkham Knight with the overuse of the Batmobile. I like Knight, but it could learn a lot from Origins. Origins also had the best side quests, with great boss fights.

people say that this game feels empty because of the lack of Gotham’s people(which it does) but they also say that theres no excuse for their absence when it clearly says in the beginning cutscene that Gotham citizens should stay inside because of the severe weather storm

I graphics aside and maybe some glitches, it was a better game than Arkham Knight.
Way better, I never experienced any of the major glitches when I first played it
it was a bit short for most people's liking... but the Deathstroke's fight is the best fight in all arkham games imo and the Joker's psychotic vibe was really well done in this game
PLUS you get to play as motherfucking Deathstroke (In one of the side gamemodes but eh who cares) so that's good enough for me
Plus they did a fantastic job with the soundtrack in the dramatic moments

I agree. A very ubderrated game. I found this story far more compelling and engaging than Arkham Knight. A pity they used the joker as the villain again.

I freaking love this game. I replayed it more than I replayed any of the others, simply because of what it brought to the table. The villains were all natural, but so thrilling to see onscreen, especially the sadistic chemistry between joker and batman. The graphics made everything and everyone more visually appealing, almost cinematic even. The voice actors were well picked, expertly taken. The story in itself was a great one to approach as the beginning of his career, and the BOSS BATTLES?! My favorites of the series, especially Deathstroke, Deadshot, and Bane’s.
In short. 11/10 would play again.

Great game, great side quests, great cut scenes... just over all a great game. The Arkham series was amazing and Origins was one of the best in the series.

This game has my personal favorite bat suite. It looks so awesome and I love that they put that costume in Arkham knight. Sure this game has problems and isn’t the most polished in the Arkham series but I believe that this game shouldn’t be overlooked. The soundtrack is absolute fire and is my personal favorite Batman game soundtrack. I’d pop this game in any damn day because it can be really fun. Sure the assets from Arkham city are reused in this games city but it could have been so much worse. We could have gotten a game that’s mostly focused on the bat mobile like Arkham knight did, and we all know how that turned out.
I like how we get to see how both Bane and Deathstroke show their degree of respect that they have for him. Deathstroke shows it to Batman in the prison and Bane shows it in prison/coliseum battle where he kinda acknowledges the pain he must’ve felt to turn him into a vigilante. At least that’s what I think Bane meant when he wished him to find the peace in death he couldn’t have in life. I’m sure Bane would be able to sorta relate, he pretty much had his life doomed from the beginning since he was forced to pay for the sins of his father.
Edit: Btw, can anybody explain to me the end cutscene w/ Deathstroke and Waller. like we they hinting at a spinoff or something?
It's likely a Suicide Squad spinoff was planned at some point, but it's obviously been canned. It might be related to Arkham Origins: Blackgate, but I only know anything about that secondhand

The joker had a crush on the Batman and knew Batman loved beating him up plus cared about him as he said “beat me baby “ and Harley thought he loved her but he really loved the Batman

Now that i think about it. I loved the bat suit in this game along with the fact that we actually saw the BATCAVE! But the villiAns were more fleshed out in the other games.

This version of Bane was by far the best of the Arkham games. Easily the best villain in Origins.

This particular game is the greatest out of all Batman Arkham series. I saw comments about what company did or didn't mak it but honestly it doesn't matter at all. I love the style of the game and I completely adore its brilliantly well thought out story. It pretty much moved my emotions somwhere else. Really. I will always remember this game with nothing but pleasant memories.

It`s awesome game. Don`t know why so many people don`t like it. Even voice work on Batman and Joker is good. Og course Conroy and Hamill are the best, but actors in Origins did a great job.

This has happened before on Iron Man: Armored Adventures when Tony told Obadiah Stane that, in quote, his "manufactured evil" was over. Stane quickly remembered that sentence before and figured out that Tony Stark was Iron Man all along. This compromise his secret identity and put all his loved ones in danger.
This is better BATMAN than in any movie. Well done!
32:45 This has to be one of the most humanizing moments for Batman. It shows that although he has the skills to fight off like a bizillion assassins at once, he still has a long way to go once it comes to dealing with thigs

I think this Batman is far more in touch with a younger Batman’s character tbh. And that’s a great thing.
The way you edit these together is amazing it’s almost like it’s a movie rather than a game but then again the two are often similar but you make it feel more like an actual movie so thank you and keep up the well good work isn’t enough to describe this keep up the amazing great fantastic awesome work!

what makes the difference in this game are the perfectly animated cutscenes! it feels like watching a movie!
This is 1 top notch produced game. Animation, model deformation, effects, voice over, camera, combat engine, sound/music etc. etc. .. nothing but polish. I did ok with the game, but not an expert like this, which is great to see. Batman's lair should have way more better defense security, at least ADT or Alexa at minimum.

The opening sequence is pure genius.
At 2:03:00 something interesting I noticed is I think he's out of ammo. He shot 4 shots intimidating electricutioner. And the last two on his thugs. Assuming it's a 6 cylinder revolver which most are that means when he puts the gun to his head he already knows it's just to play mind games with Batman. Because Batman doesn't know. This is by far my personal favorite interpretation of the joker. Subjectively to me this is better than heath ledger. When you can't tell if he planned it out or is making it up as he goes is the mark of an amazing joker.
