    In Trieste
In the 1790s, faced with danger(Revolution), Marie-Adélaïde and Victoire de France, daughter of the late King Louis XV, the last two survivors of the siblings, fled to Italy. In 1800, Madame Adélaïde died in Trieste, shortly after her younger sister Victoire (1799).
Joseph Fouché, 1st Duc d'Otrante, 1st Comte Fouché ( 21 May 1759 - 25 December 1820) was a French statesman, revolutionary, and Minister of Police under First Consul Napoleon Bonaparte, who later became a subordinate of Emperor Napoleon.
In 1816 he was proscribed and Fouché died in exile in Trieste in 1820.
