Hi guys, my name is Rok and I’ve spent the last 9 years travelling around Europe as a tour guide and I can’t wait to show you Things To Do In Trieste, Italy.

I was born in Trieste, Although I have lived most of my life in Australia, I went back the first time after 35 years. As the city below us came into view , Luciano Pavarotti was on the radio, what a welcome home! It was quite an emotional experience. Since that first trip I have returned many times.

I went back to Croatia in 2018 after 44 years. I live in Canada and coming out of the last tunnel into Dalmatia and the Adriatic Sea the song on the radio was a popular beautiful Dalmatian song Ne DIraj moja Ljubav . I will never forget that. Your experience reminded me of that.

My favorite places to taste coffee are: Caffè degli Specchi, Caffè San Marco, Illy Corner at Eataly directly on the sea. The variety of cold and hot coffees and creativity you can drink at Illy’s is second to none. There is another coffee in Trieste called Triestina Artigianale, not far away from Piazza Unita. The place is called Torrefazione La Triestina di Ariella Doz. Here you can only buy coffee.
The best ice cream ever you can find in Gelateria Zampolli at Via Ghega 10. Just go for one of the five Senza nome tastes, memory guaranteed.

Thanks. I stayed 3 nights as it takes longer to film. You can see it all in 1 day, but to take it easy and to really enjoy it consider 2 nights.

I think spending 2 nights in Trieste is plenty. It is also pretty safe regarding pickpockets as there are fewer tourists.

Is Trieste dog friendly? Are dogs allowed on the streets, beaches, parks, shopping and recreation areas and hotels?

I guess it is no more or no less different as any other Italian town. Dogs are generally allowed.

I used to go the beach in Aurisina, it's about 1/2 hr. from Trieste and the beach was all small round rocks, there was one little spot about 20 ft. wide that had sand. But no, sandy beaches are scarce there, there's not much sand there it's all volcanic and rocky terrain as you may have noticed.
