its both if we are being real, I am tired of both beginners who think a 1000$ guitar will make them play better and people who think expensive guitars aren't better. Cheap guitars can easily deter beginners from playing if it is improperly setup/has sharp frets/neck angle is wrong etc etc. The fact of the matter is a 50usd guitar isn't ideal. Beginners should try to get a guitar in the 150usd range if possible and at least get their guitar setup even if they do go cheaper.
my first guitar was a handmade acoustic guitar that cost $27 (started playing 4 years ago), it helped me in a lot of way. Now I currently play a $440 electric guitar on my gigs. If you really love to learn how to play, then it doesn't matter how cheap or how expensive it is as long as you can start learning.
i bought a guitar yesterday from amazon about the same price and it’s arriving on sunday. i was having doubts but seeing him play it, it sounds awesome!! so excited. i wish you the best on your guitar journey :)
It’s also possible to improve the playability of a cheap guitar with common tools. The videos are all here on UA-cam. Don’t be afraid to learn about guitars and how to set them up at the same time you’re learning to play. It’s not terribly hard if you are even a little bit handy, learning how to figure out what need “fixing” is harder than actually doing it most of the time.
Man you are so incredibly good on the guitar. PLEASE make a tutorial to some songs. I want to learn how to arrange like you do by playing some of the best songs. Love your videos, I‘m to broke to afford your signature guitar rn but I‘m already saving money to buy it.
Very true. It's not the guitar that's the problem. It's the player. Like I could get a 1,000$ guitar and not sound too good but you could get a professional guitarist a cheap guitar and it would sound amazing. I have a cheaper Amazon electric strat and I realized all I needed to do to get better was actually try harder. Now I can do some cool things and I recently learned bending!

@@samkzz9148 Not Really. There Are Some Good Brands As Well. Most Of Those Guitars Are Priced Higher In Other Countries. Guess They Reduced The Price For India.
My tip for beginners: Buy a crap guitar at first. I went out and bought a $1,000 Gibson guitar as a beginner because it looked cool. About 1 year later, I found an Epiphone Les Paul for $500 that I absolutely fell in love with. Loved the sound and loved the look. The $1k Gibson sat in my practice space full time after I bought the Epiphone. And when I sold the Gibson, I took a loss as no one pays full price for a used guitar. So learn how to play a guitar, learn your style and sound, THEN spend big bucks on one you like. Especially if you barely had money to buy a guitar in the first place like I did. I saved for a year to buy the Gibson.
Thanks so much for posting this! Not sure if you realize, but you're pretty good at being funny in all of your vlog-ish-style videos. 😄 I really enjoy them
I remember buying a guitar off wish. It actually turned out ok for a noodling guitar. It had some crappy wire to mimic guitar strings, but I just replaced those with nylon strings and shaved down the nut and bridge a bit. It has issues with the bad upper frets, but I'm still very much a learner, and it's more of a beater guitar anyways, if that makes sense.
I worked hard all year to be able to buy my first guitar. There was only some money left and it would be finished. Throughout this period I was listening to a lot of Andrew’s clips. This is what helped me choose the right guitar. I am excited to start lessons.

The first guitar I bought was a Donner acoustic dreadnought. Its neck eventually got really bad to the point where beyond the fifth fret it's basically unplayable - some players like a high action but obviously it's awful for most. Every time I go to a guitar store I get mad because they're all setup properly. A guitar store employee who inspected mine told me to "just buy a new one." I went to a pawn shop the other day and played a cheapie weepie acoustic with _no brand_ on the headstock, you could tell the wood was thin, but the neck played just right, the action was perfect, the strings were really light and it was _almost_ as easy as my electrics. I almost would've walked out with it. I picked up a Fender acoustic next to it, noticed the low action, but when I played it I realized the action was too low and buzzing.

It plays okay-ish, I guess, but the first and second frets on the high E string are absolutely dead. It rarely stays in tune, but as of last month I finally broke a string... I'd rate mine a 6/10, just because it actually has a somewhat decent tone

Amazon one crazy. My $500 guitar didn’t even come with a case 😭😂
Andrew can play the cheapest guitar into the most expensive guitar lol
You make Wish’s guitar sound like the most expensive one ! So talented. 🤩
i literally need a morning routine or at least a blog andrew please
for beginners that guitar would be good because some beginners get bored of playing after awhile so they can use this just to try
I haven’t even watched the video and I already know it’s going to be good
So I'm not a bad guitarist
It's just the guitar
so glad you’re back!!!
This guy inspired me to sell my guitar.
😂😂😂
my first guitar was 15 years ago and it was a 35€ toy store guitar 😅 I quickly learned some songs and my mom got me a great ibanez acoustic weeks later because she was proud I actually learned instead of toss it aside 😊
my guitar is $24 ❤😂
Love the choice of Merry-go-round of life for the sound test, so good
Nice seeing you back man
