Today we talk about Chicken Run. A movie that is nothing short of a masterpiece. Yet for some reason it seems like no one ever talks about this movie. So I am going to show you why this movie is good and the subtle references to woman's rights, capitalism, and other things of that nature.

Get yourself a proper pop filter, those little foam covers do just about nothing. There needs to be an air gap between the filter and the mic.
Also thank you for cutting out the low end pops though! Really helps, since i am watching this on my TV, and my subwoofer would be goin crazy without it, lol.

That was Babs who said that at that part? 0_0 LOL I forgot
Yeah it's a shame they didn't give her more screen time. My favorite part was when she was thrown by another hen at the dancing part, and landed in the (box?) thing, and was like "OH MY GOSH DID YOU SEE THAT? I FLEW! I FLEW!" and then a few scenes later when she stops laying eggs she goes into full depression mode. She was saying crap like "Aah my life flashed before my eyes" and stuff. I think all the characters in Chicken Run were very well done. The character development was even more amazing than the character designs.

I'm sure is a bit "taboo" to talk about concentration camps, but this is 100% a reference to them and not a normal prison. From the bunk beds and the overall look of the place, to the way they all line up and Mrs Tweedy select the ones she's going to off.

I think people turned a blind eye to these movies because it's claymation(being regarded as an out of date animation style). Thus Dreamworks stopped making any more(not to mention stop motion required more time, money & energy to animate), the last I think is Pirates: Band of Misfits(a very charming movie actually).
Back to Chicken Run, this movie's dark comedy is a joy to watch. I can never forget the line "my life flashed before my eyes, it's very boring". 🤣

7:14 Something that I realized about that scene was that not only did it set up Mrs. Tweety as the villain, but it also illustrated how desperate some of the chickens were getting. It may not seem that way at first but here's how. The big red chicken mentions that the chicken getting offed didn't tell anyone that she did not lay any eggs. You'd think that she would so that her friends could help her out and she could keep living, but that's the thing... She didn't want to. She figured that getting offed sooner would be better than living her life in the farm with the little hope that she can escape that life and eventually raise her children.

Yes, Rocky could and should have told them the truth sooner; however... it was either continue the lie (which he didn’t start), and pretend to be what they assumed he was, or admit he couldn’t help, and get turned in and handed back over to the circus (which one gets the idea is little better than Tweedy’s Farm).
I can understand why Rocky did what he did. It wasn’t that he plotted to scam them; it was from his point of view a matter of survival.

    • @conspiracypanda1200
      @conspiracypanda1200 2 роки тому +39

Fathers abandoning their kids is the worst because the stereotype they have created has real far reaching consequences. For instance:
-It can make people wrongly believe that all mothers are inherently better childcarers than fathers, even in cases where the mother is _clearly_ the more irresponsible parent and the kids would be better off with their Dad.
-The way that women pursue and act within relationships can be affected by a fear that their partner might flee from them the moment kids enter the equasion, forcing them into single motherhood because it's more commonly expected of women to bear the burden of childcare than men, ultimately leading to power imbalances and abusive relationships. (This goes both ways with one option being the man taking advantage of the woman's insecurities, the other being the woman becoming manipulative and controlling to try and entrap a man in a relationship).
-Fathers get ridiculed for doing things as simple as _actually being present_ and caring for their kids, which is a totally backwards and weird thing to discourage a parent from being and further isolates men physically and emotionally when they deserve just as much love and happiness as anyone else.
      Ect ect.

I remember being extremely scared when laying in bed, getting panic attacks and sobbing my eyes out. To make things worse, my father lashed out on me and hit me until i had a bruise on my lower back (yes because i wasn't able to sleep cus i was too scared he decided to beat me till i shut up). 15 years later the scene still made me rly uncomfortable, but I'm glad to see how far I've come since then. No more in contact with the abuser and healed enough to watch a video about that movie again. Thank you for this review. my dad still knows every line of this movie, because as a 3 year old I was obsessed with it along with shrek. He never got bored of them either. He says we had a period where we would watch those 2 movies every single day. Bless his heart.

I feel like the movie Pootie Tang would be an amazing pick for Bionic to review, it's weird, kinda random with the timing of scenes, but overall a good watch

I had a dvd of this when I was younger and I watched this so many times, I remember talking about this with some friends and they had no clue what it was... definitely slept on.

I totally forgot this movie existed. I saw it in theaters as a kid when it first came out.

Whenever I watch Chicken Run I always remember where I was the first time I watched it as a kid. At my grandparents house. My grandma bought my cousin a bunch of vhs tapes for Christmas, Chicken Run and Small Soldiers(Pig please make a video about Small Soldiers or I’ll tell PETA Jones!!) was among the stack. I was so jealous but because I was younger than my cousin it kinda made sense why I didn’t get those movies but then we had a sleepover Christmas night at grandmas and we watched it and I was so amazed and loved Chicken Run and Small Soldiers ever since!

Bruh, when I was younger and my family had JUST moved to this house we are in (been in it ten years, I'm currently 20) I had a small vhs plus tv (in one, one of those tvs with the slot) and a VERY scarce selection of tapes. For the most part it was just Me, Myself, and Irene but when my mom got Chicken Run, it was something I love and something fresh so I just watched it over, and over and over, didn't have internet either, this was all I had. In short, I love this movie, but dunno if I can ever watch it again as much as I praise it for I have seen it so much my eyeballs are on the brink of meltdown.
