Very nice work. This was another great lesson in the cymbal physics. I've always been a fan of the Manhattan series. I've got the 18" crash. I agree the ride is already nice with good crashability. It's not exactly vintage jazz sounding though. You definitely took it in that direction. A little darker, smokier, and drier, but not too much 😉👍
@@TruthSayer5589 no, I stay away from that. I’ve done it a couple times years ago, but I don’t have the correct knowledge to effectively utilize that technique without ruining the bronze.
its an iteresting concept, do we infact have to buy cymbals and then hear what we don't like about them to know what we really want. I don't live anywhere near a drum shop so I have to listen to youtube videos and guess at what to buy.
For starters, it wasn’t a mistake. I didn’t play it very much and only paid $190 for it. It sounds far better now to my ear, which is all that matters.
Definitely an improvement.
All the cymbals you modify just look and sound soo amazing. Keep up the hard work bro!
Thank you!

Thanks John! Yeah, there’s always limits with mods, but I enjoy the challenge of sending them in a certain direction!
I have been signing your praises to all my drummer friends. Your work on hi-hats is stellar. I still can't believe how much you improved my Bosphorus.
Thank you Joshua! Glad you are enjoying it!
How fun to be able to modify cymbals. Do you ever anneal them as part of your modification process?

Great work!! Really good video!!
I thought both the before and after were awesome. Just a little smokier and darker afterwards.
Right on!!
Nice mod! How does burnishing effect the sound?
It’s basically “blunt force” lathing. It adds or subtracts stiffness without removing material.
What chemical or product do you prefer to use to create patina?
@@cym-city there’s a bunch I use. Liver of sulfur is a good one. Also vinegar, lemon, salt, and coffee are good for a natural solution.
I can be found at the UA-cam video called awesome 5/8 groove, and I have a cymbal that l may want modified.
Very cool! I’ve got info on my mods on my website: reveriedrums.com/shop/p/cymbal-modification
Whoops… Expensive mistake… Too bad you can't go back.
The customer was happy so that’s all I care about!
