    Some nice shots and love the choice of music. Really liked the editing at the start with the music matching the motion of the train pulling out of the station. Hope you enjoy living in Glasgow. The weather can be dreich at times, but that's when you courie up with a good book and a cup of tea.

    I moved to Glasgow from Aberdeen in 2002 and I thought Glasgow was great place and the people are amazing and public transport is brilliant, I moved back to Aberdeen as my parents are getting older and yes I'm a proud Aberdonian but Glasgow will always a place that I really enjoyed staying in

      The West end, but it is the most expensive part of town.

    • @williamf4544
      @williamf4544 Рік тому

      Yes West End for sure - next choice South side which is cheaper but mostly nice and has a few Asian (Pakistani and Indian comunities) - the Eastend only if you have to - and avoid North

    Everything that has made Glasgow the city that it is has been displaced, it’s warm, kind, people have been replaced by students, travellers and changed the city, a good thing or a bad thing that’s up to you.

      @ChrisM541 Рік тому +2

      I tend to agree John. I live in Partick and the massive new, and many, student complexes around Dumbarton Rd have changed the whole character of this area, including (of course) Byres Rd and beyond. I have nothing against students but my local pubs etc are changing to reflect them - and not the locals! Added to this are the large numbers of shops shutting down and yes, things have changed for the worse. The new WFH pish/joke isn't helping - all those skiving 'entitled workers' now prowling the streets, and my pubs!

      The city is evolving the core heart of it in the areas where people grow up is exactly the same with the same people and culture, it’s good that we’re advancing in certain areas like Patrick where you described

      So fun to read the whining about population increase! Really, Glasgow? Would you prefer stagnation and an aging, staid workforce? Seems you've done that number before and it wasn't so rosy, was it? As an American who's lived in both stagnating AND gentrifying cities, I assure you the hassles and (false?) nostalgias of "changing streetscapes" beat the hassles of abandonment and tax-base losses every time. Full disclosure: I love Glasgow no matter what.

    • @ChrisM541
      @ChrisM541 Рік тому +3

      @@jetfool You're missing the point a wee bit. No one is talking about "stagnation", clearly. Every city changes and Glasgow, historically known as the "Second City of the Empire" through it's central role in the Industrial Revolution, has seen more than it's share of change.
      I'm talking about very specific recent changes seen from a local's perspective. When the social hub of those locals (particularly the elderly) is degraded because the Scottish government allowed the building of multiple huge student accommodation complexes, resulting in a very significant influx of additional(!) students - changing the whole character of those hubs, then take a guess at what those locals think!
      Yes, change is generally good...sometimes not so.

      Around £40,000 per year, anything less and you will struggle like most people.
