I used old milk jugs to fill up with water because we are on a well system and when it freezes here in Mississippi we don't have no water when the well freezes and I agree a lot of people waste. I just want to say thank you Cassie, for saying " Love you guy's ".
It means so much to me. My Mother passed in 2018 two day's after Christmas. She was 92 years old, & had cancer. I was her caregiver for 7 years in my home. I miss her terribly, & still cry when thinking of her. She use to say love you exactly the same way as Cassie.
Thank you so much Cassie for being so good hearted. I love you. Your sister in Christ, Jenny from Maine.

All I have is chickens and a mulch pile but that helps with less waste! I do recycle what I can't reuse! I have three recycle bins and one trash can every recycle day at least two recycle pens are full and the trash can is only about a quarter of the way full! I think we're doing pretty good for a small town Folk. And thank you for the idea with the corn I was so worried about it going to waste! May God bless you and yours for me and mine
We're also looking into discount Lots 😇 thanks for that too

My X, wife at that time, took my two little boys out for a long walk. For days I had a nagging pain on my back and was laying on my front in the living room when they got back. "Daddy!" Ethan shouted when he saw me and ran and jumped on top of me. *POP* "Oh, Ethan, I've been trying to pop that for days!" Felt SO much better.

Maybe you should be planting even more rows of corn because you have enough of good weather for corn to grow although you would have to water it but at least if you get into a bad way your animals would have something to eat still.

Speaking of zero waste, here's a tip that will help you find a use for plastic water bottle caps. As the rocks proceed through tthe polishing process in the tumbler, all the corners that rub off mean that there's less and less mass in the rock tumbler. That means that the rocks that are there will bang against each other harder and harder. You can'tadd rocks in the middle of the process or the newer rocks will risk scratching the smoother rocks. You can add more polishing compound, but that is a waste of compound and money. There is a product that you can buy, small plastic beads, but why spend the money when chances are you already have something that works just as well. Save the plastic bottle caps from your plastic water bottles! I wash them just because I'm over cautious, but the prewashing is optional. Add enough plastic water bottle caps to fill the tumbler before adding the polishing compound and water. Then seal the tumbler barral and turn your motor on and run it for the recommended time for that grit size. Just remember that the used grit will contain plastic particles, too, but you won't want to reuse used grit again. I pick an out of the way spot where I can dump used grit when I clean the tumbler out. You might want to go out on the gravel driveway where the kids/animals aren't likely to be playing/walking. Be aware that some rocks can be toxic. For instance tiger's eye can contain asbestos. The asbestos is locked in and non toxic after polishing, but I still don't reccomend putting it in your mouth or licking it at any point. Some minerals are toxic as well- arsenic. You might stress to the kids that they really should do their research about the "pretty" rocks.
There are other dangers in farming and pretty much life. That tumbler of Ranger's is pretty small, but it could still cause a bit of pain if somebody's hair/fur gets caught in the shaft. My family had a cat get caught that way. She was ok, but certainly not happy by the time we got her untangled. Just be aware and be safe!
I'm still trying to get all the rocks and things that I've collected boxed up and mailed to you and the kids. I'm trying to find my booklet on rock tumbling information. I've narrowed the search area down to thousands of books. Lol!
    Prayers for health and safety!!!🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏

Looks like you could use a machete or sicle for that corn. It would be a whole lot easier and you would not need to wear our you back. Run the corn through a chipper and you will have silage. Farm animal love eating that, and it is easier for them to do.

When I was a kid my Dad did the corn stalks for our hogs and cows. We also threw our fruit and vegetable scraps to the chickens. My Dad used a bush axe to cut the stalks down. My parents were born during the depression so they were raised by folks that lived it and passed lots of their ways on to them. My parents did the same with my sister's and I. We were taught to use what we had and not to waste our resources.

I go for the trusty saws all myself. 😉 Cleaning the kids plates is definitely a habit around our house. Mommy and Daddy garbage disposals is what we call it. Growing up with next to nothing definitely puts a lot into perspective when it comes to wasting anything. When it comes to keeping things around or on hand I have always been a fan. The convenience of not needing to run to a store all the time is amazing. Great video guys, take care and God Bless.💞

We've been unusually hot this summer in east Tennessee too and really dry until last weekend. Now we've had more than our share for the time being and I wish I could send y'all some. I understand the no waste lifestyle. My husband and I married very young and it was tough from the start. I learned to make every penny and every scrap of food stretch. Now it's just pert of life for me, and good thing too! We're both on social security now and even with the so-called generous cost of living increase, we're struggling. We both had to take social security disability because my husband was electrocuted at work and was screwed over by the company's workman's comp lawyer, and I am because I've had RA all my life and it's caught up with me. We're living on under $1600 a month without any housing subsidies or food stamps, and it hurts. My husband needed surgery last month and the copays are killing me. Please pray for us that we will catch a break. Maybe the government will realize that after all the years we worked and paid into the system we deserve a living wage.

Great job Ransom on roping that goat! First time I saw you do that and I'm proud of you! I would have used a swing blade or machete to cut that corn down a bit easier. Safety goggles...good idea Cassie. You go girl! I've been praying for you all to get rain, and I will continue. Also prayers for you two and the kids. I pray nightly to God through Jesus to cover everyone's needs, since He knows everyone and all their needs. Bless and love you too Walker family.

Good morning Gary. Ty for the reminder to make use of everything God blesses us with. Also, we too love it when the kids make a special guest appearance.(your goat roper)...lol....Cassie, it's nice to know he cares so much about you if you collapse...lol When I saw the light in the clouds..I thought of 1Thess. 4:17 "Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds; to meet the Lord in the air......." Cassie, you are dangerous but in a good way...lol We used to make silage by chopping the corn. The cows love it. I saw a video on how you can use sunflower stalks like stakes..(Even the following season) to make plant supports etc. I am thinking of trying it. Praying for rain for y'all too. Dry here in Texas too....but God is good...all the time. : )

I bought one of those little saws and I love it! I trimmed the trees all the way down both sides of my driveway it's about 75-80 yards maybe? Cheaper than paying someone to do it !

This is first time I saw your channel. I was raised on a small farm we planted all our vegetables and canned everything we had fruit trees apples peaches and cherrys pears. We had loads of different kinds of poultry we had chicken eggs we would eat some but we also put them in a incubators and had baby 🐥 and geese and ducks so we had all those eggs the duck eggs were used mostly for baking. we had chicken's that were called cowboy's cause they had lots of fur around there legs look like cowboy boots. We had a lot more I could say but would honestly be here all day. You know when you are a child and have to get up at 5and feed and water animals and pull weeds from the garden and water it and go up in a farmers 🌽 patch and get all the corn that is left over after the farmer picks it with his corn picker. And clean animals for eating or selling. Honestly there was a lot more I could say, But what I meant as a child you don't understand that all that work was putting food on the table and saves money to go to carnivals and other things like homemade ice cream from the strawberry s we grown and picked. We complained cause we couldn't go to friends house for sleep overs or other things other kids do. It was hard work but what I wouldn't do to have it today in the world we live in.
I will keep your family in my prayers that you get rain I understand what that's like. I also pray you all keep healthy and stay safe with the heat and all the things you and your children do around the farm. I'm glad I found your channel I will subscribe and keep checking in. I thank you for sharing your family and farm with all of us. I pray you have a wonderful Sunday afternoon and night.
Oh and Casey we uses to always have the young children like nieces and nephews or cousins step on our backs and boy sometimes you could feel and hear the cracks out loud. I will also keep those that are sick and have difficult times in my prayers. I myself have bones that break easily I have two fractures in my back and broken ribs. I have and autoimmune disease Lupus and it's effecting my organs inside but I know God is always right there beside me as the footprint's in the sand say but at times I need a little reminder that I'm not all alone. I lost my only best friend that I could talk to when things get bad a year and half ago from COVID-19 complications that was my Mom. Well I hope everyone of your subscribers have a wonderful day filled with love from those they love don't forget to tell the people you love them everyday cause we are never promised tomorrow so do it today and everyday you are here on earth. From Sunbury Pennsylvania 🤗♥️🤍💜🕊️😇🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
