^ she is! she use to go to the same middle school as me. we're two years apart so she was in 8th grade when I was in 6th. I met her at the library when I was in 6th grade (2 years ago) in my town and she approached me first. she was so kind and funny. she use to be in chorus for my school and she was so good at singing. my Korean friend showed me these videos of her on tv and I was so surprised. I'm so happy and proud of her for being on tv with her talent.
She will make top two this season for sure. Even if she doesn't give the best performance her vocal color is such a powerhouse this season. She is pretty much already signed no matter what to one of the agencies.

The Passion- as the song builds, the passion in her voice pierces my body and goes right to my very soul and I did not realize until she was finished that there were tears on my face. The Power- this 15 yr old has enough vocal firepower to light up the entire city of NY on New Years Day. Where does it come from ? The Heart- some play to the audience and some play it exactly the way it was written and others play it the way their mentor would like, but Jei- well, Jei plays it from the heart and that's one of the things I really love about her. The Ending- she ends this song so sweetly , so tenderly , so beautifully - its like the voice of any angel speaking to us and telling us everything will be alright. The Unspoken Truth- i asked myself what kind of person would choose to sing this out of date song w/ a very special message on the biggest stage of her life? The answer- a very special girl. She truly is beautiful both inside as well as outside and she deserves our love and support.

Look at YHY eyes 2:56. Look atJoo Miyeon eyes 2:16. Look at JYP tears 2:16. Look at Rhu Jin yelling 3:27 and goosebumps 3:38. Look at orchestra pit cheering 3:30.

I will say this. This original song was written a long time ago to an older generation of Koreans. The song focuses on long, drawn out notes, which, to the non-Korean ear can sometimes be seen as emotionless or flat. But to Koreans, especially older generations, they know that this is something that culturally, Koreans were very fond of. The long drawn out notes are like long sighs, based off the length of the breath, not the beat of the heart, as many non-Korean songs do. It's really hard to explain really, but what I am saying here is that the reason why the judges, Korean musical geniuses who are well beyond their prime, were so wowed while many people here on UA-cam, who are neither Korean or musical experts, weren't is that Yoo Jei nailed that particular style while adding her own taste to it. It touched the older Koreans' hearts in a way that even modern K-Pop doesn't anymore. Sure, her face lacked emotion and she didn't do many melodies to signify emotions or style like most of us are used to, but if you think of the song as more of a call rather than a song, then you will begin to understand the beauty of Yoo Jei's performance.
