Hey man I just wanted to let you know your video was informative and very helpful. No bullshit, just step by step exactly what you need to do and what to expect. Keep up the good work! Thanks again
I had my drive shaft fall off at a light lol. Replaced it on the side of the road and used the same u joint. Now about 500mi later, getting a bad whining. Sounds like higher speed spinning and not suspecting the diff to be the culprit. Could the u joints be the issue or axle bearings? Don't wanna tear the diff down if I don't have to.
Thinking about doing this job soon on my 05. Could you or someone explain how I would do it with a presser tool? I would have to have that short socket to push the cap out into right ?
No, no fluids have to be replaced. The catch pan is only used to catch anything that might drip out of the transmission when you remove the yoke of the driveshaft.
My 07 dodge dakota has an issue were we change gear it jerks/tugs once gear is in place, also when i start breaking at a light/stop sign it will jerk/tug, but other than that no issues while driving. So me and my dad went under the truck to just give it a look and when one of us changes gears we hear a noise coming from the rear joints so my dad believes its the culprit and just need to regrease or change out U joint.

I appreciate how you explained each step. Vey nice video. I need to do this repair on 04 Ram . Thank you!
Very underrated video, thank you sir!
Did you change the front. Joint s also
Nice video learned a pretty good amount out of it
the driveshaft is balanced itself so it will always rotate true unless worn part on truck
Nice job, need to do this on my 98 1500 2wd Ram
Great video man. Are both those ujoints the same part or are they different? Thanks
They are the same
Never done this before but seen the catch pan, did you have to replace any fluids when you changed the joints ?

@@TheOrdinarySean oh ok thanks for the video and the response.have a good one :)
@@TheOrdinarySean is it normal for fluid to come out? when i took mine out quite a bit dripped out
@@anthonymendez3179 it is for a little, but I would not expect much at all to come out.
No need to index/mark the drive shaft when you remove it as they are balanced at the factory without the yokes.
very cool thank you
